While Simon Cowell says Nicole Scherzinger was “disappointed” over being fired from “X Factor,” the singer says in a new interview that she has “no regrets” about her controversial time on the reality show.

“I loved being a part of my ‘X Factor’ family,” the singer tells “Access Hollywood,” calling the show “a wonderful experience.”

She adds, “Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets.

“I’ve always believed in never looking back and just moving forward and I’ve got an amazing year to look forward to,” she says.

But Scherzinger wasn’t exactly forthcoming with details when asked why her stint on the competition wasn’t successful.

“What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show,” she explains, admitting that she knows “everybody’s talking about it.”

“They’re saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all,” she says.

Simon Cowell is speaking out about his recent decisions to fire Nicole Scherzinger and pal Paula Abdul from “The X Factor.”

After the show’s first season was largely maligned by critics and failed to live up to ratings expectations, Cowell and his team quickly decided a reboot was in order for the upcoming second season.

Of Abdul he says, “I would’ve liked to have kept her. She was very gracious and I said that to her. She understands it’s business; it’s never personal.”

But while Abdul may have taken the news in stride, Scherzinger wasn’t as receptive.

“I don’t think she’s mad. I think she’s disappointed,” Cowell explains in an interview scheduled to air on “Extra” Wednesday.

But the former “American Idol” judge actually places some of the blame on himself as well, admitting “X Factor” didn’t live up to his own hype.

“It’s only because I opened my big mouth and said we were going to get 20 million [viewers],” he says. “If I hadn’t said that, everybody would be saying the show was a huge success.”

As for who will come on board to help improve the show, Cowell admits he’d love to have Mariah Carey as a judge, but knows the mom of infant twins can’t make the commitment.

Katy Perry would be “fun,” he says, while Madonna would be “great” – and “expensive.”

But don’t expect to see the mogul shelling out $100 million a year to snag Beyonce, as some outlets have claimed.

“I have no idea where this rumor came from,” Cowell says, adding, “It’s complete nonsense.”

It’s official: Paula Abdul will not return to “The X Factor.”

She’s released the following statement:

“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season.  I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations.”

It continues, “Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation.  Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle.”

“I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams.  This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful,” concludes Abdul.

Simon Cowell also released a statement regarding her departure, saying Abdul “is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future.”

On Monday, it was confirmed that host Steve Jones and judge Nicole Scherzinger are gone from the singing competition series.

Cowell worked hard to bring Abdul, his former “American Idol” colleague, to “The X Factor” when it launched last fall.

Replacements for Abdul and Scherzinger have not been announced – but Gossip Cop has some ideas!

There’s now a second major departure from “The X Factor.”

Just hours after Steve Jones announced that he’ll not be returning as the singing competition’s host, it’s been confirmed that judge Nicole Scherzinger is leaving the show, too.

The former Pussycat Doll tweeted on Tuesday, “I wanted to let you know directly from me that it’s true I won’t be returning to The X Factor. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and making great music and more! I’m grateful for the love you always give me.”

Replacements for Scherzinger and Jones have not been named.

The Scherzinger news was first reported by E!

She and Jones were originally slated to co-host on the show’s first season, but Scherzinger wound up replacing Cheryl Cole on the judge panel.

Simon Cowell and Jada Pinkett-Smith are partnering on a new reality show to find the world’s best deejays, it was announced Wednesday.

The series will be produced by Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment and Will Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, along with Sony Pictures Television.

Says the actress, “This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent.”

“I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family,” she adds.

Cowell says he’s “been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people.”

“As soon as I met Jada and Miguel from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners,” he explains.

But why a show about deejays?

They “are the new rock stars. It feels like the right time to make this show,” Cowell says.

The show is expected to air in both the United States and the U.K., although the networks have not yet been announced.

Simon Cowell has split from his fiancee of two years, Mezhgan Hussainy.

“The X Factor” creator revealed the news in an interview with the Daily Mail, saying, “We have had a break from each other.”

Cowell tells the paper, “It is quite a complicated relationship… We are still incredibly close,” adding, “It’s not on, it’s not off, it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t know if I will ever get married, but I am happy.”

He also says he regrets gushing about Hussainy on “Piers Morgan Tonight” at the time of their 2010 engagement, when he called her “the one,” explaining, “I have been pretty good about not talking about my private stuff, but I got caught up in the moment.”

Cowell and Hussainy met in 2003 when she was a makeup artist on “American Idol.”

According to the National Enquirer, Ryan Seacrest is playing hardball with “American Idol” producers and “threatening to join his old pals Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul on ‘The X Factor.’”

In the final stretch of his three-year contract with the show, Seacrest supposedly “wants a $15 million chunk of the ‘Idol’ pie” to host another season, although the Enquirer contends that he’s bluffing about making the leap to “X Factor.”

The tabloid claims Seacrest feels “underappreciated” at “Idol” and cites a so-called “source” as saying, “He told FOX he won’t re-up when his ‘Idol’ contract expires.”

“Ryan’s been bragging that Simon wanted him on board ‘X Factor’ all along – and he says Paula would be thrilled to have the three ‘Idol’ cast members back together again,” adds the Enquirer source.

Hmm.

There are a couple of things at play here.

First, speculation about Seacrest’s future has been rampant for some time, with even the “Today Show” in play.

And there’s been endless buzz about whether current host Steve Jones will return for future seasons of “The X Factor.”

But has there been any real conversation – bluff or otherwise – about Seacrest bolting to “The X Factor”?

Nope.

“This is clearly made up,” a source close to Seacrest tells Gossip Cop.

Seacrest – and the rest of the “Idol” gang – return for Season 11 of the show on Wednesday night.

The fifteen-year-old rapper from Brooklyn, who butted heads with Simon Cowell on the singing competition, has just been signed to L.A. Reid’s label Epic Records.

Reid was Astro’s mentor on the show and a major proponent of the young singer’s talent.

“The X Factor” champ Melanie Amaro has signed a recording contract with Epic Records, the label run by one of the show’s judges, L.A. Reid.

Epic is part of the Sony Music empire, which guaranteed $5 million to the “X Factor” winner.

She’ll also star in a Pepsi commercial set to air during the Super Bowl in February.

Reid is thrilled to have Amaro with Epic.

“I joined The X Factor to be able to discover undeniable talent such as Melanie,” says the music exec. “I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom.”

During the competition, Amaro was mentored by Reid’s rival judge, Simon Cowell, but Cowell is happy with her new deal.

“We all agreed that Epic would be the right fit for Melanie,” he says. “L.A. made it clear that he wanted the opportunity to work with her and with his track record, you can’t say no to that.”

Amaro plans to spend part of her fortune on a foot massager and a new house for her mother.

“A newly slimmed down Mariah Carey is aiming to become a judge on ‘The X Factor’ — and secret talks have already begun,” begins a breathless piece from the National Enquirer.

Amid rumors that Nicole Scherzinger will leave the judges’ panel to take over for host Steve Jones next season, Carey supposedly “told the show’s creator Simon Cowell she’s prepared to jump in.”

A so-called “source” for the mag says, “She wants to be a judge and she has been in secret talks with Simon,” adding, “She promised to help pull in monster ratings this coming season.”

The Enquirer notes that Carey, who gave birth to twins in April, “had been lined up to make multiple guest appearances on the show but bowed out for various reasons.”

But now that the singer has lost all of her baby weight, “she’s ready for her grand entrance,” says the alleged source, explaining, “She was holding out until she knew she looked her best and is chomping at the bit for Simon to sign her up.”

So, is Carey really heading to the “X Factor” judges’ panel?

Don’t hold your breath.

A rep for Carey tells Gossip Cop there’s zero truth to the tab’s story.

Melanie Amaro, who won “X Factor” on Thursday, admitted today that she was concerned about losing to Chris Rene.

She felt the rapper “was my biggest competition… Everyone knew he was an original artist.”

Amaro also revealed that judge Simon Cowell “was more nervous than I was backstage.”

Still, she thinks there was no way she could have won without him.

Amaro said, “I don’t think I would have gone very far at all,” had Cowell not mentored her.

“I needed Simon,” said Amaro, who cited him being a “tough judge” and credit him with pushing her further.

Amaro also noted that she’d like to work down the road with another judge, L.A. Reid, as well as with Mariah Carey.

And when asked what she would like to do with her $5 million prize, Amaro said, she wants to “buy a foot massager and buy my mom a new house.”

Will the next big elimination from “X Factor” be Steve Jones?

According to reports, the handsome host will be dropped after the show’s first season.

A source tells the Mirror, “Executives at Fox have already decided not to renew his contract and so, short of a miracle happening, it is pretty much a done deal that he will not take part next season.”

The paper notes that Jones was called “utterly irrelevant” by the New York Times, and the Boston Herald wrote that he was “so far in the background he may as well be on another network.”

Despite initial criticism, says the Mirror, “Things haven’t got better.”

Added to this is talk that Nicole Scherzinger, who was supposed to have been the host before the whole Cheryl Cole debacle, may leave the judge’s table to replace Jones.

Gossip Cop reached out to reps for show and creator/judge Simon Cowell, but has yet to hear back.

Meanwhile, a rep for Jones insists, “There have been absolutely no conversations about Steve Jones Leaving ‘The X Factor.’”

On Thursday, one of the three remaining contestants – Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik –  will named the very first winner of “X Factor.”

Josh Krajcik brought one judge to tears on “The X Factor” Wednesday, when he performed a moving version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

The stripped-down performance included Krajcik playing the piano as he sang.

“You are the one to beat,” Paula Abdul told him afterward as she choked back tears.

Simon Cowell agreed, telling Krajcik “that song has put you into the final next week.”

Chris Rene‘s memorable performance on “The X Factor” Wednesday had judge Simon Cowell calling him the competition’s “dark horse.”

After getting mixed reviews on “Fly” by Sugar Ray, which was chosen by the audience, Rene bounced back with a fun, upbeat rendition of Alicia Keys‘ “No One.”

Jimmy Kimmel invited the four judges from “The X Factor” to his couch on Monday, and immediately began grilling them about last week’s controversial elimination of Rachel Crow.

The host called the 13-year-old contestant’s dismissal a “travesty” and lambasted “stupid America” for voting her off the program.

Not surprisingly, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell disagreed on this point.

Kimmel also brought up the video of Paula Abdul encouraging Nicole Scherzinger to let the judges tie on the decision.

“I own the decision that I made,” said Scherzinger.

On a lighter note, Kimmel asked whether Abdul and Cowell have had a sexual relationship and introduced the hilarious “L.A. Reid Chair Dancin’” DVD.

Rachel Crow was shockingly voted off “X Factor” on Thursday, leaving four contestants left.

It came down to Crow and Marcus Canty.

Ultimately, the judges were deadlocked and Crow was sent home based on viewer votes.

The young singer was so inconsolable, Simon Cowell and her mother had to rush onstage to take care of her as she bawled.

The remaining four are Canty, Melanie Amaro,  Josh Krajcik, and Chris Rene.

The final five “X-Factor” contestants competed Wednesday to make it into the show’s very first semi-finals.

Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger didn’t agree often, but when they did, it was on frontrunner Melanie Amaro and the Cowell-dubbed “genius” Chris Rene.

Astro, the 15-year-old rapper on “X Factor,” took to his Facebook page to say he was sorry for acting like a spoiled brat when landing in the bottom two on Thursday.

At the time, Astro (born Brian Bradley) said he didn’t want to be on the show anymore if he wasn’t fully appreciated.

And though he annoyed judges, Simon Cowell, who was visibly annoyed with Astro, reluctantly eliminated Stacy Francis because he believes in the rapper’s potential and talent.

On Saturday, a more humble and apologetic Astro wrote, “I seriously apologize to my fans, what I said and my emotions weren’t directed toward you. I’m 15 and I think I know everything, but the truth is, I don’t, and I handled the situation wrong! Win or lose next week, I will make you all proud!”

He even tried to explain his bad behavior by comparing himself to boxing legend Muhammed Ali.

Astro said, “I believed I was being mistreated, and in the moment I thought about Ali’s moment. I want to be the new ambassador for Hip-Hop and a leader of a new young movement of positive kids, but to be that I must have Integrity and Honor first! People are saying I’m ‘cocky’ and ‘arrogant’, well maybe I have watched too many Muhammed Ali films or maybe I grew up having to fight my way home everyday or battle on street corners of Brooklyn for respect.”

“My guards are always up, and maybe I took the situation too heavy,” he added.

Stacy Francis was voted off “X Factor” on Thursday.

It was between her and Astro for the final elimination.

The young rapper acted like a brat because he was in the bottom two, and even said in between tears that it wasn’t worth it for him to do the show if he wasn’t appreciated.

The audience then booed him.

The vote came down to the final judge, Simon Cowell, who was vocally annoyed with Astro’s theatrics, but reluctantly eliminated Francis because he believes in the rapper’s potential and talent.

Piers Morgan announced on Tuesday night, “I’m leaving ‘America’s Got Talent.’ I’ve been a judge since the show began six years ago. I’ve loved every single second, but discovered juggling, to my surprise, really is a bit more difficult that I thought.”

Morgan, who took over for Larry King, said he’s going to focus on the upcoming election and his duties at CNN.

He also thanked “America’s Got Talent” show creator, Simon Cowell.

Morgan then cracked “I want to congratulate Sharon [Osbourne], Howie [Mandel], and Nick [Cannon], who will doubtless be very relieved to learn that they no longer have to work with me.”

Nicole Scherzinger has banned Simon Cowell from her team’s rehearsals, Gossip Cop confirms.

The former Pussycat Doll decided she’s had enough of Cowell interfering with her mentoring of contestants Josh Krajcik, LeRoy Bell and Stacy Francis.

Cowell’s been particularly vocal about Scherzinger’s handling of Francis.

Now, he’ll no longer be permitted to see Scherzinger prepare her squad.

The Scherzinger-Cowell spat isn’t the week’s only “X Factor” controversy.

Many observers have been critical of the show after contestants were caught lip synching, although Fox claims it’s not an unusual practice.

On Tuesday, the 13-year-old sang a mash-up of the Justin Bieber hit “Baby” and the Supremes‘ “Where Did Our Love Go,” earning a positive response from the audience and judges Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, and Simon Cowell.

Scherzinger called Crow’s performance “amazing,” and Abdul told the young singer, “You can do anything you want… You’re the most likeable girl I’ve ever met.. You’re awesome.”

Brian Bradley, aka Astro, opened the live show of “X Factor” on Tuesday by blowing away the audience and judges singing, “Jump.”

Nicole Scherzinger said she “couldn’t think of a better way to kick off” the show. And Paula Abdul felt, “This is what you’re going to be doing the rest of your life.”

Jazzlyn Little was a nervous 16-year-old when she stepped onto “The X Factor” audition stage, and Simon Cowell‘s initial line of questioning didn’t do much to change that.

But then Little began to sing Mary J. Blige‘s “I’m Going Down.”

The audience loved it, as did the judges, including Paula Abdul, who proclaimed Little a “brilliant gem.”

“Jazzlyn, I’d love to see what you’re like when you’ve got confidence,” said Cowell after the performance. “What I love about you is you – I get the feeling – love music, are taking this seriously, are someone who wants to get better, and that’s why we made this show. To find people like you.”

Brian Bradley began his “X Factor” audition by mouthing off to Simon Cowell.

Shortly after the 14-year-old hit the stage, Cowell said to fellow judge L.A. Reid, “He’s a mini you.” And while that should have been taken as a compliment, Bradley stared Cowell down and repeatedly asked, “What’s your problem?”

That segued into Bradley rapping a song he wrote called “Stop Staring at My Mom,” which made quite an impression.

Cowell told Bradley that he was “arrogant, obnoxious argumentative, but you are one of the most talented young people I’ve heard in a long, long time.”

And Reid, who used to run Def Jam, said that when he was at the label’s helm he was “looking for” someone like Bradley, and now “I’m the luckiest guy in the world that you walked in today.”

Last night’s auditions on “The X Factor” included 14-year-old Drew Ryniewicz doing a slowed-down version of Justin Bieber‘s “Baby.”

It was pretty darn impressive.

“American Idol” judge Steven Tyler and “X Factor” judge Nicole Scherzinger put aside their shows’ rivalry by performing together — and sharing an onstage kiss — at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The 63-year-old rocker and the former Pussycat Doll locked lips after performing Tyler’s new single “(It) Feels So Good.”

Fellow “Idol” judge Randy Jackson played guitar for Tyler and Scherzinger’s duet.
