‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ made a lot of green this red, white, and blue holiday weekend.

The latest film in the franchise had the biggest Fourth of July opening ever, raking in $116.4 million for the four-day weekend, and easily secured the #1 spot at the box office.

Shia LaBeouf’s and his robot car buddies smashed the animated ‘Cars 2,’ which fell to #2 with a four-day weekend total of $33 million.

The Cameron Diaz-Justin Timberlake comedy ‘Bad Teacher’ came in third with $17.5 million, followed by ‘Larry Crowne,’ starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, which earned just $16 million.

Karolyn Pho Shia Labeouf Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Shia LaBeouf had to pull a great escape on the streets of New York this week while being pursued by paparazzi.

On Wednesday afternoon, the ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ star and his girlfriend, Karolyn Pho, dashed into Delicatessen in the city’s SoHo neighborhood to evade the pesky photographers.

One of the restaurant’s employees took the couple downstairs and out through a service exit, where a taxi ultimately picked up LaBeouf and Pho and whisked them away.

Shia LaBeouf revealed to Details magazine that he hooked up with Megan Fox while filming Transformers, and says she may or may not have been with now-husband Brian Austin Green at the time.

Oops.

Asked if he and Fox got together while making the movies, LaBeouf nodded affirmatively, explaining, “Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them.”

In an excerpt from “Blow-Up: An Oral History of the Most Explosive Director of All Time” published in GQ, Bay says Fox’s comment to British publication Wonderland that he “wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is” was the final straw.
