Lindsay Lohan entered a “not guilty” plea through her lawyer in a probation violation hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

She’s been ordered to appear personally in court for pre-trial on January 30.

The case stems from an incident last June in which the actress allegedly lied to police officers about her involvement in a car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Lindsay Lohan just had her probation revoked, and was handcuffed and taken into custody after a scheduled progress hearing on Wednesday.

Judge Stephanie Sautner was furious with Lohan for being kicked out of the Downtown Women’s Center for blowing off nine appointments, noting that with all of the actress’ past legal run-ins, “probation is a gift.”

No, but the actress’ electronic monitoring ankle bracelet did go off earlier this week, prompting probation officers to visit her Venice townhouse, where the actress is serving 35 days of detention.

It turns out that the monitor malfunctioned, sending an alert even though Lohan was right where she’s been ordered to be – at home, reading scripts and watching television.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly plans to plead “no contest” in her necklace theft case, according to a source for the Associated Press.

By not fighting the misdemeanor charge in court, Lohan could have the matter officially resolved, although it’s possible she’d face additional penalties.

Prosecutors allege that Lohan stole a $2,500 necklace from the Kamofie & Co. jewelery store in Venice, Calif. on January 22.
