He also wrote the comedy, which is slated to begin filming in April.

Gordon-Levitt confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Mail, “Scarlett Johansson is so keen to avoid any encounters with ex-husband Ryan Reynolds and his new girlfriend Blake Lively in New York that she is considering buying a property in London.”

“Scarlett doesn’t want any awkward run-ins with Ryan and Blake in New York,” a so-called “friend” explains to the newspaper, which claims Johansson “visited an estate agent to help her search for an apartment” in London last week.

Wait, ScarJo is going to flee her hometown because she’s afraid of bumping into her ex?

All of this assumes that Johansson is even looking to buy a place in London, which her rep tells Gossip Cop is “not true.”

Moreover, even if Johansson did decide to get a place across the Atlantic, it’s not going to be her permanent base, it would not mark the start of a “new life” in England (as the Daily Mail claims), and it would have nothing to do with Reynolds or Lively.

This is the week’s second story about a female celeb making a major overseas real estate decision based on personal jealousy.

They’re both inaccurate.

Scarlett Johansson and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour will host a fashion event in New York City to benefit President Obama’s reelection campaign.

The fundraiser is set for February 7 at the Theory store in the Meatpacking District, and will be attended by such designers as Beyonce, Diddy, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman and Vera Wang.

The event is part of Runway to Win, a campaign initiative by fashion designers who support Obama’s reelection, and will feature Obama-themed clothing and accessories crafted by the designers.

As has been the case ever since she and Ryan Reynolds split, Scarlett Johansson is the subject of new dating rumors.

According to a report from the Sunday Mirror that’s been picked up widely, the actress and British rocker Dan White are an item.

The newspaper hears “the pair are quite smitten and both see the relationship going the distance.”

Wow, is that so?

A so-called “impeccable source” for the outlet alleges Johansson and White recently met at a London club and “got on like a house on fire… There was an instant connection.”

“They’ve been seeing each other for a good few weeks,” says the Mirror’s source, adding, “Dan’s proper happy about it – and what guy wouldn’t be? He already thinks the world of Scarlett.”

We’re sure he does.

But it seems his adoration of the actress is from afar.

A rep for Johansson tells Gossip Cop she’s “never met” White and says “this is a totally made up story.”

As Johansson herself said recently, it’s become “exhausting” trying to keep up with all the tabloid garbage written about her.

Do not call Scarlett Johansson “ScarJo.”

“Oh, it’s awful,” the actress says of her syllable-saving nickname.

She tells USA Today, “It’s a laziness. People can’t actually say the whole name? It’s just bizarre.”

To illustrate her point, the We Bought a Zoo star mentions a couple of celebrities whose names don’t get shortened, wondering, for instance, why Daniel Day-Lewis is not “DaDay.”

“So Cate Blanchett is not, like, ‘CaBla’? Why is that?” asks Johansson. “Why do I have to get stuck?”

The actress acknowledges that one good thing about the “ScarJo” moniker is that it serves as a kind of familiarity test.

“If I hear somebody say that, I know I don’t know them at all,” she explains.

On the subject of people not knowing her, Johansson says she’s recently stopped reading rumors about herself.

She says, “One of the best things I learned this year was to not read any tabloid, gossipy, you know, garbage. It really keeps you on the straight and narrow.”

In terms of the endless romantic rumors following her split from Ryan Reynolds, Johansson ignores them.

“It’s just nice to have kind of a blinder up in that regard. It helps keep you sane,” she says. “I can’t follow all that stuff. It’s too exhausting.”

Scarlett Johansson visited “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday, and the two discussed her hacked, leaked naked pictures.

“Somebody stole my nudie photos… they were out there for the world to see,” said the actress.

She added, “It was quite shocking… it was extremely creepy.”

Johansson described to Letterman how disturbing it was to have her email privacy compromised.

“It meant the guy was really there constantly… sitting there all pasty and sweaty and pervy and weird,” she explained.

Who would you most want to kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve?

The OMG! celeb site on Yahoo! polled more than 1,000 readers for a Hollywood Holiday Survey – and the results are pretty interesting.

On the question of which male celebrity respondents would most like to smooch on New Year’s Eve, George Clooney tops the list, with 28% of the vote, just beating Johnny Depp (27%).

Ryan Reynolds came in third with 18%, ahead of Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling, who rounded out the Top 5 with 12% and 7%, respectively.

As for the ladies, 22% of the men polled picked Jennifer Aniston as the number one celeb they’d like to ring in the New Year with a kiss.

Aniston edged out Halle Berry with 18% and Scarlett Johansson with a close 17%.

Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox took fourth and fifth places with 13% and 12%, respectively.

Scarlett Johansson has a knack for reviving old musical favorites, and her latest project is a holiday duet with Dean Martin.

The actress lends her voice to “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” which appears on the late Rat Pack singer’s new compilation My Kind of Christmas.

“Growing up in New York City, Christmas was never Christmas without Dino,” says Johansson in a press release. “Recording in the studio with Mr. Martin in my headphones felt as though he were standing right next to me, crooning with that mischievous gleam in his eye.”

She continues, “When I was asked to sing on this album, it was literally a childhood dream come true.”

Christopher Chaney, the man accused of hacking into the personal accounts of such celebrities as Christina Aguilera, Mila Kunis, and Scarlett Johansson, and then posting some nude photos on the Internet, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

Of course, a little more than two weeks ago, Chaney acknowledged in an interview with the Fox affiliate in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, “I know what I did was one of the worst invasions of privacy.”

He even said at the time, “I was almost relieved when they came and took the computer.”

Still, he pleaded not guilty to the 26 charges leveled against him, including wiretapping and unauthorized access to a computer.

If convicted, Chaney faces 121 years in federal prison.

A trial has been scheduled for December 27.

Scarlett Johansson is opening up about the nude photos hacked from her phone last month, telling the December issue of Vanity Fair, “I know my best angles.”

The actress explains, “Those are old, from three years ago… They were sent to my husband,” referring to her ex Ryan Reynolds.

Johansson does not appear the least bit embarrassed about the pictures, saying, “There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like I was shooting a porno… Although there’s nothing wrong with that either.”

She also discusses her divorce from Reynolds, saying, “I didn’t really know what to do with myself. It was such a strange time. There was nothing that was interesting to me… It was difficult. I felt very uncomfortable.”

The glossy, deliciously bizarre spot for Dolce & Gabbana‘s “The One” has Johansson playing an actress who’s responding to reporters’ questions with pearls like, “My favorite part of my body? I like my lips. For kissing. And for words that start with the letter ‘M.’”

The celeb hacking scandal that led to the FBI’s Operation Hackerazzi arrest of Christopher Chaney earlier this week is generating new controversy, thanks to an Associated Press article asking whether Scarlett Johansson and other Hollywood stars should be blamed.

Frazier Moore, an AP television writer, poses the question in an inflammatory article titled, “The Naked Truth: Stars Are Asking to be Hacked.”

“Maybe it’s not fair to blame the victim,” opens Moore, acknowledging Chaney’s alleged practices as “predatory” and quoting the U.S. Attorney’s comment that hackers who engage in such activity are “scum.”

He then writes, “Poor Scarlett. On the other hand… really?!”

Moore asks, “What was going on in Johansson’s pretty head when she, like so many, snapped candid self-portraits without figuring out that: (a) She’s a lovely woman. (b) She’s a famous woman. (c) She’s a highly marketable woman whose every move, clothed or unclothed, is of interest to a public salivating for details.”

He later says, “In this era of digital snooping, why would any celebrity delude himself that his or her physical seclusion guarantees privacy?”

“However high the walls surrounding one’s property and however well-staffed one’s security detail, why would any celebrity store nude photos on any electronic device that connects to the Internet,” Moore continues, “unless, of course, the celeb is a closet exhibitionist and secretly hopes the stuff will go viral.”

The article wraps us like this: “Sure, Johansson is one of many victims of cyber-hacking. Maybe she was also asking for it.”

Wow.

It’s a position we’ve seen other commentators take, but it’s worth pointing out a few things.

First, while Johansson and other celebrities might be “highly marketable,” Chaney himself describes his invasive behavior as “addictive” and never sought to sell any images for profit.

Also, while the article focuses on “nude” pictures, the more than 50 victims in the case include celebs whose private pictures were not naked or sexual in nature, which works against the notion that they’re all “closet exhibitionists.”

Further, regardless of whether it’s wise for a celebrity – or anyone – to store compromising photos on their personal computers and mobile devices, the hacking was done without their knowledge or consent. That’s why it’s “hacking.”

If Scarlett Johansson – or Mila Kunis or any Hollywood actress – ever wanted to “leak” scandalous pictures online, she could do so without having Christopher Chaney break into her account and breach her privacy.

Finally, the deliberately controversial language in wondering whether a woman was “asking for it” when she’s violated seems dangerously loaded, especially in an age when personal privacy both in and out of the home seems to be under threat.

The man the FBI claims hacked more than 50 celebrities, including Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis, says he was “addicted” to the cyber invasions and “relieved” to have been caught.

Christopher Chaney was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with hacking into the personal email accounts of dozens of Hollywood stars, in some cases leaking nude photographs they’d taken privately.

“It started as curiosity and it turned into just being addictive… seeing the behind the scenes of what’s going on with these people you see on the big screen,” Chaney tells Jacksonville’s FOX30 in the video below.

He adds, “I was almost relieved when they came and took the computer… because I didn’t know how to stop.”

Chaney’s candid interview is pretty stunning and definitely worth a look.

He faces 121 years in federal prison if convicted on all charges.

The unintentionally hilarious new OK! cover laments the end of America’s Greatest Fictional Couple.

According to the magazine, Ryan Reynolds has “dumped” Sandra Bullock for Blake Lively, ending “the romantic karma comeback story of the year.”

A so-called “source” claims, “Sandra is crushed. She’s doing her absolute best to hold her head high and act as if she’s not bothered, but the truth is, she’s very hurt.

OK! wonders whether the supposed Bullock-Reynolds relationship “was too good to be true” after his “steamy Boston weekend” with Green Lantern co-star Lively, and the tabloid describes Reynolds allegedly choosing Lively as “another soul-crushing blow” to Bullock.

Well, it was certainly too imaginary to be true!

We know it might crush OK!‘s soul, but, as Gossip Cop has reported ever since silly rumors first surfaced, Bullock and Reynolds never dated.

They. Did. Not. Date.

Period.

Of course, now that Lively is newly single (having just split with Leonardo DiCaprio), she and Reynolds have been the rumor du jour, meaning OK! can use that angle to make Bullock seem like a pathetic sad sack.

Here’s what’s true:

Bullock and Reynolds are former co-stars and friends.

They were never a couple.

A source close to Bullock tells Gossip Cop “it’s all lies.”

Once again, OK! is anything but okay.

Christopher Chaney was arrested this morning, accused of hacking dozens of celebrities’ personal email accounts.

The FBI’s “Operation Hackerazzi” busted the 35-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, who’s been charged with crimes including accessing protected computers without authorization, damaging protected computers without authorization, wiretapping and aggravated identity theft.

According to a grand jury indictment, Chaney used multiple aliases to acquire private information belonging to celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis.

Nude photos were among the illegally obtained content.

In all, more than 50 victims have been identified.

Investigators believe that Chaney mined publicly available sources for data about his victims before gaining control of their email accounts.

The FBI says he probably got to new victims by accessing address books in computers he already breached.

Chaney appeared before a judge and was later released on $10,000 bond, but has to adhere to a slew of conditions.

Among the stipulations are that Chaney has severe travel restrictions, must live with a third party (like his folks), and cannot have any access to a computer or other device with Internet access.

If convicted on all counts, Chaney could face up to 121 years in federal prison.

The FBI has arrested a man suspected of hacking phones and email accounts belonging to Hollywood stars including Scarlett Johansson and Vanessa Hudgens and leaking their photos.

“Operation Hackerazzi,” as it’s called, made the bust on Wednesday morning.

Sources within the FBI confirm to Gossip Cop that it was an individual in Florida, acting alone.

He has not yet been identified.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Hudgens met with investigators last March after nude photos of the “High School Musical” star were distributed online.

Naked shots of Johansson were swiped and circulated last month.

Actresses including Ali Later, Emma Caulfield and Busy Phillips have also reportedly been targeted by the suspect.

The FBI plans to hold a press conference this afternoon.

The site notes the actress was “seen on a romantic stroll through Paris with Culkin on Sept. 13,” and that they “appeared cozy and happy as they made their way along the Champs-Élysées after midnight.”

People adds Johansson and Culkin were “photographed together again the following day – this time at the airport, hopping a flight back to the U.S.”

So, are they really dating?

Obviously, People doesn’t know because the best they could do was pose a question.

Fortunately (for them), Gossip Cop provides answers.

“Jessica Biel‘s face will go scarlet when she hears about this,” begins an Us Weekly piece, which claims “Justin Timberlake spent the night of Sept. 14″ with Scarlett Johansson, who starred in his video for the song, “What Goes Around Comes Around.”

According to the mag, the two stars were “hardcore flirting” at the New York hotspot 1Oak before leaving together at 5:30 a.m.

But the night didn’t end then, says the mag.

Us reports “the one-on-one party continued just a few hours after the A-listers closed down 1Oak — when Timberlake showed up at the Iron Man 2 actress’ midtown penthouse apartment,” and “wasn’t even low-key” about going to her place in the early morning hours.

That would be very scandalous, if it actually happened.

While it’s true the two friends hung out together at 1Oak — with their mutual manager — a rep for Johansson tells Gossip Cop, “Justin was never at her apartment as reported.”

Scarlett Johansson “isn’t shy about going after a guy!” begins a piece from Star magazine, which claims the actress is “making a big play for Jeremy Renner as they shoot The Avengers in NYC.”

According to a so-called “source” for the tabloid, “She follows him around and is so touchy-feely.”

But the Hurt Locker star is “steering clear” of Johansson, says the “source,” who explains, “He heard she can be very clingy.”

Well, that’s embarrassing… for Star.

The mag has been repeatedly mistaken when it comes to Johansson’s love life, and this latest tale is no different.

A rep for Renner tells Gossip Cop the tab’s story is “ridiculous and so wrong!” explaining that Johansson and Renner are actually just “great friends.”

“Scarlett Johansson is putting the past behind her, and wishing her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds a blissful future with Sandra Bullock,” reports Star magazine, which has previously claimed the longtime friends are “getting married!”

The mag says Johansson “nurtured hopes of reconciling with Ryan” after she split from Sean Penn in June, “but now she realizes that [Reynolds] and Sandra – who are discussing marriage and adoption… are the perfect match!”

According to the tabloid, Johansson “understands that life with Sandra, her 20-month-old son Louis – with more adopted children likely to come! – is an ideal fit for Ryan.”

“She knows how much he wants to be a dad,” reveals a so-called “insider,” adding, “She feels the romance is good for them both!”

Actually, she doesn’t!

There is NO Reynolds-Bullock romance.

As Gossip Cop has reported over and over and over and over again, the longtime pals are NOT dating.

Star began the rumors that Reynolds and Bullock were getting married and adopting babies, and now they’re just trying to perpetuate their own false claims, even though the reports have been repeatedly denied by both actors.

Scarlett Johansson is the latest celeb to be invited via YouTube to the Marine Corps Ball on November 11.

First, Mila Kunis was asked and accepted. Then Justin Timberlake said yes.

Shortly thereafter, Betty White, was asked, but said she couldn’t go.

Miley Cyrus also received a YouTube invitation.

Now Johansson’s invite comes courtesy of Sgt. Dustin Williams.

In a video, accompanied by a soundtrack of “Eye of the Tiger” (as Williams dresses) and “Stayin’ Alive” (as he struts out of his barracks), the Marine sergeant says he thought about who he wanted to take, and Johansson was his choice (cue Percy Sledge’s “When a Man Loves a Woman” track).

Williams even had a photo of Johansson holding a glass of champagne inserted into his video.

But sadly, Johansson declined.

Still, the actress said in a statement: “I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams. Not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for filmmaking.”

She added, “Unfortunately due to prior commitments I will not be able to attend the Ball with you this year but I am sending you a case of Moet and Chandon with gratitude. It’s another whiff for In Touch on a Scarlett Johansson story.

One week after wrongly reporting that she’d held a “divorce party” to commemorate her split from Ryan Reynolds, the magazine claims the actress is “wooing” Justin Bartha.

The pair were “flirting up a storm” at Karaoke Boho in New York on July 16, reports In Touch, which quotes a so-called “eyewitness” as saying, “She was having a great time.”

We’re sure she was having a nice time.

Because she and Bartha are pals.

“Can’t she have any male friends without the press saying she is dating them?” a source close to Johansson asks Gossip Cop.

Ah, but In Touch has to squeeze in an extra rumor, citing an “insider” who says she and Reynolds have “been talking, and she’s asking for a second chance.”

So she’s allegedly trying to “woo” Bartha and reconcile with Reynolds – after her “divorce party”?

“Even though [she and Reynolds] are divorced they have remained friends – it’s that simple,” says Gossip Cop‘s source.

“Scarlett’s Divorce Party,” reads a headline from In Touch, which claims Scarlett Johansson had “celebratory divorce drinks” upon finalizing her divorce from Ryan Reynolds on July 1.

The mag says Johansson hit up NYC hotspot XIX with friends such as Aziz Ansari, and “was clearly in the mood to party.”

According to a supposed “eyewitness” at the club, Johansson was “buying bottles and doing cheers in honor of her independence,” and Ansari supposedly “got up and did a speech” dedicated to the newly single star.

Uh, if Johansson was so thrilled to be free from Reynolds, then why did they reunite in L.A. a week later?

Exactly.

In any case, a source close to Johansson assures Gossip Cop, “She did NOT have a divorce party,” and notes, she was simply “out with friends.”

Our insider stresses that Johansson would never do something so “tacky” like have a divorce party, especially since she has so much “respect” for Reynolds.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds reunited for dinner last weekend, just one week after finalizing their divorce.

The pair, who announced their split in December after two years of marriage, got together at Little Dom’s in L.A. for a late-night meal.

While Life & Style reports that Johansson and Reynolds were “very flirty,” and says the actress “set out to convince him to give their love another shot,” Gossip Cop has learned it was nothing more than just a friendly meal, which they’ve shared occasionally since calling it quits.

“Justin & Scarlett Back On!” reads a headline from this week’s In Touch about Justin Timberlake and Scarlett Johansson.

According to the tabloid, they recently connected for “a steamy fling.”

“It’s no secret that Justin and Scarlett have always been super-attracted to each other,” says a so-called “source” about the co-stars in Timberlake’s “What Goes Around… Comes Around” music video. The mag’s “source” says they now want “to see if the sparks are still there.”

As proof, In Touch notes that Johansson and Timberlake left the New York hotspot Kenmare together in late June, and vaguely adds they were “getting cozy” at the nightclub Avenue on an unspecified evening.

“Could the couple finally be ready to take their relationship to the next level?” asks the magazine.

According to In Touch, Timberlake is “ready to end his short but spirited streak as a bachelor.”

While it’s true the singer-actor had one drink with Johansson along with a group of friends at Kenmare in June, Timberlake left alone, and they are NOT dating, “getting cozy,” or having a “steamy fling.”

A source close to the singer assures Gossip Cop that the In Touch article is “ridiculous.”

Actually, Timberlake was recently rekindling with ex-girlfriend Jessica Biel in Toronto.

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson are officially divorced.

Johansson filed for divorce in late December.

Neither asked for spousal support, and there was no pre-nuptial agreement, so they equally divided the assets from the time they were married.

The couple married in Reynolds’ native Canada in 2008.

They have no children.
