Django Unchained has raised eyebrows for its use of the N-word, and now an interview with Samuel L. Jackson is doing the same.

The film’s star was questioned during a press junket about the controversial dialogue by reporter Jake Hamilton, but pretended not to know what N-word the interviewer was referring to.

Samuel L. Jackson Slams New York Times Critic for Negative Avengers Review

Samuel L. Jackson lashed out at a New York Times film critic on Twitter Thursday for writing a negative review of The Avengers.

Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Comics adaptation opening Friday, took issue with A.O. Scott‘s article, which criticized “the overblown, skull-assaulting action sequences,” among other aspects.

Scott, who wrote that the movie is “hardly worth raging about, [and] its failures are significant and dispiriting,” also described Jackson’s acting as “more master of ceremonies than mission commander.”

In the March issue of EbonySamuel L. Jackson gives an outspoken interview in which he says that he supported President Obama because of his race.

“I voted for Barack because he was black,” Jackson is quoted by the New York Post as saying in the magazine.

He continues, “‘Cuz that’s what other folks vote for other people – because they look like them.”
