Kanye West wrapped holiday presents for foster kids at a charity event today, and it wasn’t even planned.

The controversial star unexpectedly walked into the New Yorkers for Children’s “Wrap to Rap” benefit at The Ainsworth in New York and asked to lend a hand.

Selita Ebanks, West’s “Runaway” co-star, also helped out with the gifts. The two were part of the charity organization’s Fall Gala in September.

Kanye West thought about killing himself in the past, the star told an audience on Monday.

At a screening of his surreal musical short film, ‘Runaway,’ West announced, “There were times that I contemplated suicide,” but has since decided, “I will not give up on life again.”

The performer cited his art as a reason to keep going.

“There’s so many people that will never get the chance to have their voice heard,” explained West. “I do it for them.”

About an hour after Taylor Swift sang her untitled song of forgiveness directed toward Kanye West, the rapper also belted out a tune directed at himself, though the lyrics were far less forgiving.

Dressed in a bright red suit and dripping in gold chains, West debuted the song with “Runaway,” in which he seemingly verbally attacked himself. “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags. Let’s have a toast for the a**holes,” he sang. What do think of his song?
