Chris Hemsworth is reportedly Steven Spielberg’s top choice for the lead role in the upcoming Robopocalypse.

The Thor and Snow White and the Huntsman star is said to have met with Spielberg for the part and won over the director, according to Deadline.

Steven Spielberg will reportedly direct ‘Robopocalypse,’ about humanity’s battle to survive a robot uprising.

It is based on a still unpublished novel by Daniel H. Wilson.

The project will supposedly begin filming in January 2012.
