Robert Halderman, the former CBS producer who attempted to extort David Letterman over the late night host’s sex scandal, is starting a six-month stint in jail.
He was led out of a Manhattan court in handcuffs today, having been sentenced to incarceration and 1,000 hours of community service.

Ther was more action in the David Letterman alleged extortion case. Today prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office noted that Halderman told the “Late Show” host’s lawyers he would cover up the money-for-silence transaction.
