Salma Hayek is an actress, mother, wife – and soon-to-be knight.

The movie star was chosen Sunday to join France’s Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honor) by President Nicolas Sarkozy.

She will have the rank of Chevalier (or Knight).

Hayek will be formally inducted in the next few months by Sarkozy, who will bestow the honor with a medal pin.

This isn’t the first time the centuries-old merit award, for service to France, will go to a Hollywood star.

Past honorees include fellow actors Robert De Niro and Clint Eastwood.

Hayek is married to French businessman François-Henri Pinault.

Robert De Niro is a new dad, Gossip Cop confirms!

The legendary 68-year-old actor and his wife, Grace Hightower, have welcomed a baby daughter named Helen Grace.

She was born via surrogate at 7 pounds and 2 ounces.

Helen Grace is the couple’s second child.

They also have a 13-year-old son named Elliot.

Bradley Cooper‘s weekend started with a split, but it ends with a box office win.

His movie Limitless, also starring Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish, earned $19 million in its first weekend at the box office.

Rango took second place with $15.3 million, and Battle: Los Angeles came in third with $14.6 million.

The Lincoln Lawyer and Paul nabbed the fourth and fifth spots with $13.4 million and $13.2 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top Ten were Red Riding Hood ($7.3 million), The Adjustment Bureau ($5.9 million), Mars Needs Moms ($5.3 million), Beastly ($3.2 million) and Hall Pass ($2.7 million).

“Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are embroiled in a nasty sibling rivalry – but not with each other,” reads the opening of a National Enquirer story.

According to the tab, the twins are “boiling with jealousy” over little sister Elizabeth‘s newfound success.

As you’ll recall, the younger Olsen was the darling of the Sundance Film Festival, thanks to her starring roles in the films Silent House and the much touted Martha Marcy May Marlene. She’s also been tapped to star in the Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver thriller, Red Lights.

Anyway, the Enquirer claims the twins are “filled with envy and regret over their failing to make the transition to big features films” like their kid sister.

Adds the so-called “insider”: “Mary-Kate and Ashley love Elizabeth. But they hate being eclipsed by her.”

Really?

Not at all.

A source close to the twins tells Gossip Cop that the Enquirer‘s article is “totally ridiculous… They are all very close.”

Olsen stars in two much talked-about films that played at the annual festival, Martha Marcy May Marlene and Silent House.

But that’s not all.

Based on her breakout success at Sundance, the younger Olsen – who’s taking a break from her studies at New York University – has just been tapped to star opposite Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver in a thriller titled, Red Lights.

“Robert plays a world renowned psychic and Sigourney is a psychology professor, and I play her student,” Olsen revealed to the Hollywood Reporter.

Gold Derby is reporting that Taylor Lautner will be among those who are part of the “Golden Globes starry line-up of presenters.”

Gossip Cop looked into it, and asked a rep for the Twilight star, who responded, “As of now, no.”

We also checked with the Golden Globes people, and were told Lautner was not slated yet either.

It seems Gold Derby may have posted last year’s presenters, which is what has caused the confusion.

Right now, the only confirmed/announced presenters are LL Cool J, Jada Pinkett Smith, Bruce Willis, Scarlett Johansson, Garrett Hedlund, Leighton Meester, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Lopez, and Matt Damon.

As we reported a few days ago, Damon will present Robert De Niro with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on NBC on Sunday, January 16.

NOTE: Things change closer to the date of the awards and, if they do, Gossip Cop will post who’s presenting as soon as we find out.

Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon and Jennifer Lopez are the first three presenters to be announced for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Damon will present Robert De Niro with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Lopez debuts as an “American Idol” judge this month, while Pattinson’s Water For Elephants comes to theaters in April.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on NBC on Sunday, January 16.

Leading the pack this holiday weekend was Little Fockers.

Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro‘s latest family dysfunction farce earned $34 million, beating out two Jeff Bridges movies for #1.

Bridges’ True Grit took second place with $25.6 million, followed by his film, TRON: Legacy, which secured third with $20.1 million.

Fourth place went to The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader with a take of $10.8 million, while Yogi Bear came in fifth with $8.8 million in ticket sales.

Rounding out the Top Ten were The Fighter ($8.5 million), Gulliver’s Travels ($7.2 million), Black Swan ($6.6 million), Tangled ($6.5 million) and The Tourist ($5.7 million).

“Saturday Night Live” opened with a sketch that showed what WikiLeaks would like as a TMZ-style TV show, with Bill Hader playing the mysterious Julian Assange as a Harvey Levin type.

Among the leaders WikiLeaks “paparazzi” harass are Hamid Karzai (played by “SNL” host Robert De Niro) and Hillary Clinton (who shares a bit too much with the public).

“WikiLeaks: TMZ” – it was bound to happen.

The show has revealed its December lineup, and it’s stacked with some big names.

On December 4, Robert De Niro hosts (for the third time) with musical guest Diddy-Dirty Money.

On December 11, Paul Rudd comes back for a second turn, this time with Paul McCartney providing tunes.

On December 18, Jeff Bridges has hosting honors with musical guest Eminem.

Anne Hathaway will take the “SNL” stage as host this Saturday.

Sandra Bullock made a surprise appearance last night at Spike TV’s “Guys Choice” Awards, held at the Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.

It was the Oscar-winner’s first public appearance since news broke of Jesse James’ infidelities and her adoption of son Louis.

Bullock was on hand at the awards to accept the “Troops Choice” Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Presented to Bullock by Robert Downey, Jr., the award is voted entirely by members of the armed forces.

The appearance of The Blind Side actress at the awards show last night completely blinded side all but a very, very few in the know.

As soon as Bullock hit the stage, she received a standing ovation.

Bullock told the surprised audience, “Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. We’re all going to be honest, right? Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?!”

Spike TV’s “Guys Choice” Awards, which is set to air June 20, drew such guys as Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Jon Hamm, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.

Bullock is also scheduled to be at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards, where she’ll receive the Generation Award.

For close to a year now, a number of top celebrities have been mentioned for the possible lead in Martin Scorsese‘s biopic about Frank Sinatra.

Among the names thrown out in the past were Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and George Clooney.

But now, according to reports everywhere, including one picked up by MTV, Scorsese is “on record as saying that he’d like Al Pacino for the Sinatra role and Robert De Niro for the crooner’s longtime collaborator, Dean Martin.”

There’s just one problem. And it’s not who to cast as Joey Bishop.

Scorsese never said he wanted to cast Pacino and De Niro.

A rep for the director tells Gossip Cop the Pacino-De Niro report is “totally not true.”

Everyone should just relax, and let Scorsese do it his way.

Are Vito Corleone and Dr. Watson set to join “Thor”?

Actor Matthias Schweighöfer told German GQ that he’s in the running to join Kenneth Branagh‘s comic book movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, but what really caught everyone’s eye was his claim that Branagh had already cast two other actors you may have heard of: Robert De Niro and Jude Law.

Dozens of major industry gossip sites, including Ain’t It Cool News, are picking up the story and wondering who De Niro and Law will play.

Well, they can stop wondering. A rep for Law tells Gossip Cop rumors of the actor joining the film are “not true.”

Gossip Cop checked around, and as far as we can tell, De Niro won’t be doing “Thor” either.

Lesson for the New York Post: If you’re going to take a cheap shot at Lindsay Lohan, at least get your facts straight first.

In a piece about Robert Rodriguez filming his new film, “Machete” in Austin, the paper has a “Texas-based spy” who says “celebrities like Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan ‘have been camped out’ there.” The item even goes on to say, “Lohan’s been lying low, but we’re sure she’ll become a regular at a swanky bar soon enough.”

Low blow – and wrong!

“Lohan’s been laying low” in Austin? Perhaps the New York-based tabloid should cover its local news a little bit better. The actress is in the Big Apple, and even Tweeted around the time this story was written, “I heart nyc.”

Oh yeah, Michelle Rodriguez isn’t in Austin either.
