Despite a glowing progress report, a judge has denied Chris Brown‘s request to end his supervised probation early.

Mark Geragos, the singer’s attorney, went to court Thursday and argued that the star’s good behavior meant he no longer needed to be under the watch of a probation officer.

A progress report released earlier this month said that Brown had “made great strides,” specifically noting he had completed half of his court-ordered community service and complied with required drug testing.

But the positive feedback wasn’t enough to persuade Judge George Lomeli to amend the terms of Brown’s five-year probation, which stems from his 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The issue will likely be reviewed at Brown’s next progress hearing on July 10.

In the meantime, he must still report to his probation officer in his home state of Virginia.

As Gossip Cop exclusively reported earlier in the week, the R&B star is set to perform at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where Rihanna is also expected to take the stage.

Chris Brown will perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, a rep confirms to Gossip Cop exclusively.

Brown is nominated for three honors at this year’s ceremony.

The “F.A.M.E.” hit maker has been absent from the awards since 2009, when he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-Grammys party.

He is currently serving five years probation for that attack.

A number of huge names – including Adele, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry – are slated to take the stage.

Rihanna is also scheduled to perform at this weekend’s show.

Rihanna is set to make her reality television debut.

The superstar will executive produce – and make appearances on – a new Sky Living HD series in the UK that looks to discover new fashion designers.

The as-yet untitled show will air over the course of 10 weeks this summer.

Nicola Roberts (of Girls Aloud) will be the program’s host.

Rihanna will be involved in the show’s casting and production, but she’s also expected to have an on-camera presence.

Competing designers will be challenged to create outfits for various musicians and celebrities, according to the Sky announcement.

The winner will have the chance to design Rihanna’s stage outfit for a London concert in July.

“I’ve always had a great love of fashion. It’s a constant source of inspiration in my life, and is a big reason why I’ve grown into the person and artist I am today,” said Rihanna in a statement about the show.

Rihanna got some fresh ink.

Early Wednesday, the superstar tweeted photos from a Hollywood tattoo parlor, including a shot of “THUG LIFE” newly written in pink across her knuckles.

She captioned the picture with, “♫ All these b**ches screaming that 2pac back ♫ #THUGLIFE.”

Rihanna also tweeted photos of herself with proprietor Mark Mahoney and actor Danny Trejo.

The singer has about a dozen tattoos already.

The fact that Chris Brown and Rihanna partied at the same L.A. club on Sunday night has many gossip sites in a tizzy.

After TMZ hyped that their both being at Greystone Manor “fueled growing rumors they’re back together,” MediaTakeOut went a step further, reporting that Brown’s girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, and Rihanna nearly had a physical altercation.

MTO claims Tran “confronted” Rihanna at the supper club, and “the two nearly STARTED FIGHTING!!!!”

According to a so-called “insider,” the model is “upset with Rihanna – for her BLATANT SHOTS at Chris Brown in her newest video ['We Found Love'].”

And Tran supposedly “believes that Rihanna WOULD LIKE to get back with Chris Brown,” adds the source.

MediaFakeOut then says Tran and Rihanna “GOT IN EACH OTHERS [sic] FACES” at the venue, quoting an alleged witness as saying, “[Chris and Kae] were on one side of the VIP and Rihanna was on the other. At one point Rihanna walked over, and Kae stepped to her.”

Adds their sight-impaired “insider”: “Before anything could truly POP OFF, Rihanna’s bodyguards came to her rescue, and moved Kae and her girls AWAY from RIH!!!”

“And that was GOOD for Kae,” chimes in MTO, noting, “Rihanna was prepared to WHOOP KARRUECHE’S AZZ!!”

Whoa, that sounds pretty dramatic… and completely made up.

A rep for Greystone Manor tells Gossip Cop exclusively, ”The report is false.”

Whoops.

TMZ is usually a reliable website, but is trying to have it both ways today, hyping rumors of an alleged Rihanna-Chris Brown “reunion” – and then posting an “exclusive” denial of those same rumors.

On Monday morning, TMZ breathlessly announced that the former couple had “partied at the same club” – Greystone Manor in West Hollywood – thereby “fueling growing rumors they’re back together.”

But a short time later, the site suddenly declared it had an “exclusive” from Brown’s rep that he and Rihanna “are NOT back together, despite rampant rumors to the contrary.”

First of all, it’s NOT an “exclusive” – Gossip Cop debunked the same rumors LAST WEEK.

Moreover, TMZ was the place most responsible for “fueling” the rumors of a reunion just hours earlier!

That’s quite a speedy flip-flop.

On the other hand, at least TMZ corrects its mistakes – unlike a ton of other outlets.

Add two more major artists to the list of performers slated to rock next month’s Grammy Awards.

“My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!” Rihanna revealed on Twitter on Wednesday night.

The singer, who is up for four awards, including Album of the Year, seemed quite excited by the planned duet, calling it “bonkers.”

Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars are among the other stars slated to the take stage on February 12.

The show will be hosted by LL Cool J.

Rihanna and Chris Brown have been “secretly hooking up” for almost a year, claims Us Weekly.

The “jaw-dropping revelation” has supposedly been confirmed to the magazine by “several sources,” and the trysts are said to be “common knowledge” in the two performers’ inner circles.

Brown is dating Karrueche Tran, so he and Rihanna allegedly “rendezvous at out-of-the-way places,” according to the magazine.

In fact, most of the story revolves around how Rihanna and Brown are keeping their hookups “clandestine” because it adds even more excitement to the relationship.

“It’s a recipe for disaster. Rihanna loves to live dangerously, and talking to and hooking up with Chris is all part of that,” explains a so-called “insider” for Us.

Meanwhile, a Brown “pal” tells the magazine, “Having these flings without the world knowing has made the hookups even hotter.”

OK, so the Us story is basically claiming that Rihanna and Chris Brown are totally together – except exclusively behind closed doors, and no one will ever be able to confirm it.

The weekly covers itself even further by mentioning near the end of the article that “most of their friends doubt the two would ever go public again” and that the alleged relationship “isn’t serious.”

Stories about Rihanna and Brown getting back together have been floating around ever since their 2009 breakup.

The fact that the former couple has been on good terms for a while is going to fuel even more speculation that they’ve rekindled romantically.

But it’s simply not the case.

The idea of a reunion has always trumped actual facts in these stories, and there’s no evidence that the two performers have reunited behind Brown’s girlfriend’s back – and the public’s.

A rep for Brown tells Gossip Cop the singer and Rihanna are “just friends,” and that he’s absolutely “not cheating” on Tran.

“Chris Brown and Rihanna… Are Getting BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!!!” blares another so-called “WORLD EXCLUSIVE” from MediaTakeOut, which it apparently still hasn’t figured out how to unlock its caps key.

The blog, which has repeatedly run this same tired story, once again claims, “we FINALLY can CONFIRM that both Rihanna and Chris are WORKING TOWARDS GETTING BACK TOGETHER!!!”

A supposed Brown confidante says, “Chris feels that Rihanna is the LOVE OF HIS LIFE and he wants nothing more than to get back with her.”

And according to an “EXTREMELY reliable insider” for the site, the pair is now “SPEAKING to each other on the phone, and exchanging IM’s and text messages.”

But that’s not all.

MediaFakeOut reports, “The two have decided to MEET UP when Rihanna returns to Los Angeles next week and to see how and whether they should get back together.”

“Rihanna’s RocNation managers are FURIOUS that she’s contacting Breezy,” notes MTO, adding, “They have NO IDEA that the two are planning on meeting up.”

Well, MediaTakeOut has NO IDEA what they’re talking about.

A rep for Brown tells Gossip Cop the blog’s story about a planned reconciliation is simply “not true.”

We hope MTO finds a more “reliable insider” in 2012.

Uh-oh.

The publisher of the Dutch fashion magazine that called Rihanna the N-word is now taking back its half-baked apology.

As Gossip Cop reported, Rihanna was (rightfully) furious with Jackie after the magazine referred to her as “the ultimate [n-word b*tch]“ in an item about how to dress like a pop star.

TAKE A LOOK BELOW

In the controversy that followed, editor Eva Hoeke first tried to defend the N-word mention as a “joke” before belatedly admitting that Jackie had made “errors” in judgement, herself quitting.

But according to a Dutch news site, publisher Yves Gijrath now says they did “nothing wrong.”

“[Hoeke] presented it as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation [of style],” Gijarth is quoted as saying.

He adds, “She should have said, ‘We did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.’”

Gijrath continues, “But because of all the fuss, Eva started to wiggle in all directions, and therefore we have come to the conclusion her credibility has been undermined.”

Moreover, Jackie will not print a retraction in its upcoming issue and “will not be silenced.”

Wow.

In other words, it appears Gijrath and Jackie are not sorry for calling Rihanna the N-word – just sorry that everyone got so “touchy” about it and that Hoeke didn’t defend it.

The editor-in-chief of Dutch fashion magazine Jackie has resigned after calling Rihanna “the ultimate [n-word b*tch]” in an article.

Eva Hoeke, who also referred to the pop star’s bottom as “ghetto,” had initially apologized on Facebook, saying her fashion feature “was intended as a joke.”

Now Hoeke acknowledges that trying to clarify her intentions was “not the right solution.”

“Through the course of events, me and the publisher have concluded that because my credibility is now affected, it is better for all parties if I quit my function as editor-in-chief effective immediately,” she says in a statement.

“After putting my heart and soul into Jackie for eight years, I realize that these errors — although not intended maliciously — are enough reason for leaving.”

The too little, too late mea culpa came after Rihanna herself blasted Hoeke for using the racial epithet.

“I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights!” the singer wrote on Twitter. “I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!”

Rihanna is furious with Dutch fashion magazine Jackie for referring to her as “the ultimate [n-word b*tch]” in a piece about how to dress like the pop star.

The mag, which also described her bottom as “ghetto” and mistakenly referred to the Barbadian singer as Jamaican, issued a (weak) apology on Facebook, but Rihanna was less than satisfied with the attempt.

The singer blasted the mag’s editor-in-chief Eva Hoeke on Twitter, writing, “I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!”

Rihanna adds that the feature “degrade[s] an entire race” and encourage[s] segregation,” and ends her tirade by saying, “On behalf of my race, here are my two words for you… F*CK YOU!!!”

Hoeke wrote on Facebook that the piece “was intended as a joke… a bad joke, to say the least” and that it “slipped” through her fingers.

She added, “It was stupid, it was naive to think that this was an acceptable form of slang,” but that “there was no malice behind it.”

Which celebrity would you least want to spend the holidays with?

The OMG! celeb site on Yahoo! polled more than 1,000 readers for a Hollywood Holiday Survey with the question, and the results are pretty entertaining.

Asked which star they would least want to take home for the holidays, 26% of respondents answered Snooki, with Charlie Sheen coming in at a close second with 20% of the vote.

Paris Hilton came in third with 13%, Chris Brown followed at 11%, and Lindsay Lohan, Courtney Love and Mel Gibson each received 10%.

Respondents were also asked which star they would most like to party with on New Year’s Eve, and Seth Rogen topped the list with 20% of the vote.

Also ranking high on the guest list were Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, who both received 19%, as well as Kim Kardashian with 13%.

Interestingly, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, who topped the least wanted holiday guest list, were also voted as celebs people most wanted to party with, with Hilton receiving 9% and Lohan at 7%.

Rihanna (6%), Pitbull (5%) and The Situation (2%) also made the want-to-party list.

“Rihanna‘s PREGNANT!!!” blares a supposed “WORLD EXCLUSIVE” from MediaTakeOut, which claims the singer has canceled her concerts in Sweden not because she has the flu, but because she may be expecting a baby.

The site quotes an alleged “member of Rihanna’s camp” as saying, “[The word] was that [Rihanna] had the flu, but we all suspect it’s more than just that. She’s no longer drinking – which is big for her – and she has a doctor traveling with us.”

So, because she’s not drinking and is consulting a doctor, that means she’s having a baby?

Anyway, the so-called “insider” adds, ”Rihanna no longer carrie[s] ANYTHING [on tour]. And she is on doctors [sic] orders to take it easy for the remainder of the tour.”

Wow, this proof is simply undeniable.

MediaFakeOut says “it’s not clear” who the father is, but notes that Rihanna supposedly “had a secret rendezvous a few months back with ex-bf Matt Kemp, and also “admitted to a brief fling last month with Irish boxer Dudley O’Shaughnessy.”

Actually, Rihanna never “admitted” to dating O’Shaughnessy, and the reports about her rekindling with Kemp were similarly unconfirmed.

Regardless, a real source who’s close to the singer tells Gossip Cop the MTO report is “untrue,” and that she’s absolutely NOT pregnant.

The only thing fertile here is the imaginations of MediaTakeOut’s reporters.

Rihanna is in a Swedish hospital tonight.

The singer, who was slated to perform on Monday in Malmo, Sweden, is currently hooked up to an IV drip (see below) and recovering from flu-like symptoms.

After tweeting the photo of her drip, the singer said in a statement: “I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo, Sweden. I was so excited to perform for you all.”

“It would have been a great time… so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I’m really disappointed I couldn’t be there,” she added.

Kelly Rowland “must not care that Chris Brown beat up Rihanna once,” begins a piece from In Touch, which claims Rowland and Brown are secretly “hooking up.”

The mag says the singers, who are currently performing together on Brown’s F.A.M.E. tour, “have quietly started an on-the-road romance.”

According to a supposed “insider” for the tabloid, “About four cities into the tour, Chris began asking Kelly out to dinner. She initially shunned his advances, but ultimately gave in.”

Actually, none of this ever happened.

Brown is dating model Karrueche Tran, and he and Rowland are just working together.

A rep for Brown tells Gossip Cop the tab’s story is “absolutely not true,” adding, “Chris and Kelly are just friends.”

Rihanna and photographer David LaChapelle have settled a lawsuit he brought against her that claimed many scenes in her “S&M” video copied some of his own work.

LaChapelle argued that Rihanna had taken elements including poses, lighting and wardrobe from his infamously raunchy photographic portfolio and asked the singer and label Def Jam for $1 million in damages.

In his suit, LaChapelle declared that Rihanna’s video (see below) is “directly derived from and substantially similar to” several of his photographs, including images of a woman in latex headgear and a dominatrix walking a man on a leash.

Last July, Judge Shira Scheindlin determined that LaChapelle’s allegations had merit.

At the time he filed the lawsuit, LaChapelle made it clear that he had no personal beef with Rihanna.

“I like RiRi,” he said. “This is not personal, it’s strictly business. Musicians commonly pay to sample music or use someone’s beats, and there should be no difference when sampling an artist’s visuals.”

The matter was just resolved for an undisclosed amount.

Adele and Lady Gaga are among the superstar women who lead the nominees for the 2011 American Music Awards.

Katy Perry, Rihanna and Taylor Swift also garnered multiple nominations for the ceremony, which will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November 20.

Lil Wayne will take on Gaga, Perry, Swift and Adele for “Artist of the Year” honors.

Winners will be determined by online voting.
