The performer announced his homosexuality on his website today, ending a post with the words, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.”

A father of two, Martin says that the process of penning his memoirs triggered the decision to come forward, knowing that the right moment had arrived. “Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth,” he reveals. “And this is something worth celebrating.”
