This one caused Gossip Cop to double take.

OK! reports that Spencer Pratt “dropped an estimated $23 million dollars [sic] to start his personal music business,” citing documents uncovered by TMZ.

Hmm. Does that figure seem… high?

Well, OK! is a bit off. By several decimal places.

See, Pratt paid 23 dollars – NOT 23 million dollars – for the privilege of putting out a high quality musical product.

So OK! missed the mark by a measly twenty-two million, nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and seventy-seven dollars.

Gossip Cop is sure Pratt has that much between his couch cushions!

Gossip Cop loves when tabloids accuse others of “stooping,” even when they’re the ones who’ll say anything – however fictional – for a “story.”

“Get out the barf bags,” In Touch warns, because “Jon Gosselin and Nadya Suleman will try to fall in love on a reality show.” That’s right. The weekly’s weak stomach comes from its “exclusive” that Gosselin, willing to “stoop to just about anything,” “has agreed to star in a cheesy new reality show in which he’ll date [Suleman.]” The man behind the supposed Jon – Kate = Jon + Octomom pilot (and, yes, we just got a bit queasy typing that), Bobby Goldstein, had heard Suleman was attracted to Gosselin, “And I had the idea that this could be a very entertaining fiasco.”

Well, he has the “fiasco” part right. In Touch reports the series will follow father-of-8 Gosselin as he “contemplates what hooking up with Octomom could really be like,” while mother-of-14 Suleman pursues her “obsession” with him.

And how does the mag explain how such a patently ridiculous project will get made? It cites Goldstein’s belief that Jon’s quest for fame will prevail: “I think that he wants to remain in the limelight.”

Yeah, almost as badly as the tabs and producers who feed on this nonsense want to remain in the limelight.

It’s not true. There is NO show commitment between Gosselin and Suleman, no matter how many proposal e-mails went back and forth.

We busted last week’s speculation that Gosselin was headed for a reality encore, and we’re more than happy to bust these new, even more absurd rumors. Gossip Cop just confirmed – again – with Gosselin’s representative that this story is “not true.”

UPDATE:  Jon Gosselin has put out a statement, which reads in part:

“I am troubled to learn that the media has accepted as true the scurrilous rumor that I would appear in a reality television program with Nadya Suleman. This is utterly false.”

If you thought Jon Gosselin being on one reality show was enough, rest assured: that’s all it will be.

“Jon is getting ready to take a meeting with CBS and talk about appearing on special celebrity versions of The Amazing Race or Survivor,” RadarOnline.com reports “exclusively” — and wrongly. A source “familiar with the situation” (or not) tells Radar that Gosselin is planning to fly to Los Angeles in November to discuss reality TV possibilities, while “nothing is a done deal yet.”

As you know, Gossip Cop has been almost completely alone in ignoring the Jon & Kate debacle during its months-long domination of headlines. But Radar’s “exclusive” importantly doesn’t impact the couple’s eight children, is complete nonsense, and also happens to touch upon something we actually like – “The Amazing Race.” So let’s bust this rumor, shall we?

Jon Gosselin’s representative spoke to Gossip Cop EXCLUSIVELY and said in response to Radar’s reality TV claims, “He’s not looking for anything like that.” The report – picked up everywhere – is “not true.”

So “Survivor” isn’t in Gosselin’s future? “He has no desire to be in a jungle.” As for what he is planning, the rep observed that he’s “dealing with a divorce, his children, [and] TLC,” and reiterated that he’s not doing a reality show, and “never had plans to do one” after the series that made him a household name.

The new US Weekly‘s “Hot Stuff” column looks like it’s serving cold dish.

A supposed “source” told the mag a new A&E reality series featuring the Jackson family “will include Michael’s kids – Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7.” The late King of Pop’s eldest sister Rebbie expressed disgust, saying “Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on this show.”

Well, Michael won’t be spinning. Because it’s nothing more than a rumor.

After A&E issued a statement acknowledging that “it is entirely possible that [Michael's] brothers’ will intersect with other members of the Jackson family,” US Weekly stood by its report.

But a source involved in the production confirms to Gossip Cop that while the brothers may “intersect” with Michael’s children, there are no plans to include them in the series. It should also be noted that to be put on the air, participants need to sign a release. The children’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson, acts as their children’s legal guardian, and a source in the Jackson camp tells Gossip Cop there’s no chance she’d sign off on their participation.

Talk about “Out of the Blue!”

Gossip Cop just confirmed the news that Debbie Gibson is going the reality show route. (So it wasn’t “Only in My Dreams.”)

The Eighties pop star recently shot a TV pilot for Endemol, the people who’ve brought us such shows as “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Deal or No Deal.”

According to our solid source, the as-yet untitled series — produced by the team behind “The Osbournes” and “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica” — will focus on Gibson working on her first studio album in nearly a decade. Already parts of the pilot were shot in New York, where the cameras followed her into a meeting with Warner Bros. execs and through the Times Square area, where she starred in a bunch of Broadway musicals including “Beauty and the Beast.”

While the show will also touch on Gibson’s recent 20–pound weight loss and her relationships with her mom/manager Diane and beau Dr. Rutledge Taylor, “the main focus will be Deborah’s musical journey and re-invention,” says the source, who adds there’s “drama” over whether she’ll go back to “Debbie,” the name she went by at the height of her fame.

While we were hoping Gibson would follow the reality model perfected by fellow Eighties stars Flavor Flav (“Flavor of Love”) and Bret Michaels (“Rock of Love”), we’ll take what we can get.

Maybe Fox News needs a reality check after it posted a story on its website that Lindsay Lohan is looking to star in a reality show.

According to the Fox News piece (scroll down), which got picked up and repeated as fact EVERYWHERE, Lohan is looking to do a “reality show that will enscapulate (sic) her trials and tribulations as she gets ‘back on her feet’ and actually becomes a working actress again.”

And while most outlets at least corrected Fox News’ “encapsulate” typo, they still got the story wrong. Lohan’s rep told Gossip Cop exclusively that talk of a reality show is “not true.” And in terms of her being a “working actress again,” in addition to Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete,” Gossip Cop knows Lohan has a few other films lined up.
