Immortals Wins Box Office Battle

Swords-and-sandals action flick Immortals has won the weekend box office, with the tale of ancient warriors and angry gods taking in a $32 million haul.

Coming in second was Adam Sandler‘s critically savaged Jack and Jill with $26 million in ticket sales.

Nabbing a close third was a Puss in Boots with $25.5 million.

Puss in Boots clawed its way to the top again with $32.1 million in ticket sales.

Coming in second was Tower Heist with $25.1 million.

And nabbing third was the stoner threequel A Very Harold & Kumar 3D with $13.1 million.

Puss In Boots Tops Weekend Box Office; Breaks Halloween Record

Puss In Boots has easily scratched its way to the top of the weekend box office.

Spinning off from Shrek, the Antonio Banderas-voiced character took in $34 million, breaking a Halloween weekend record. Saw 3 had previously held the title with $33.6 million.

Last week’s champ, Paranormal Activity 3, came in second with $18.5 million.

The Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried sci-fi flick In Time nabbed third with $12 million.

Paranormal Activity 3 Scares Up New Box Office Records

Audiences were more than happy to get a little horror-fied this weekend.

Paranormal Activity 3 scared up $54 million in theaters, making it the biggest opening of all time for a horror film, as well as the best ever October debut.

Real Steel and teen dance rebellion Footloose came in a distant second and third with $11.3 million and $10.9 million, respectively.

Hugh Jackman‘s Real Steel, once again, knocks out the competition with a weekend take of $16.3 million, just ahead of the Julianne Hough-Kenny Wormald Footloose remake, which earned $16.1 million.

Coming in a distant third was the horror film The Thing, which made $8.7 million in ticket sales.

Real Steel is the real deal.

Hugh Jackman‘s robot boxing movie punched out the box office competition with a $27.3 million haul.

The Ides of March, a political thriller starring Ryan Gosling and George Clooney, came in second with $10.4 million.

And Dolphin Tale swam to third with $9.2 million.
