Alongside a photo that features Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Quvenzhané Wallis, the actress wonders, “How can we ask for our young stars to have a high level of responsibility if we are not demonstrating that same level of responsibility towards them?”

The Onion is apologizing for calling nine-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis a C-word on Twitter during the Oscars.

The satirical news outlet had tweeted, “Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c**t, right?”

After receiving backlash for the “joke,” the publication deleted the post.

Now, the publication’s CEO Steve Hannah has issued a formal statement apologizing for the remark.

Annie, set be be released during the holiday season in 2014, is being directed by Will Gluck, and produced by Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, as well as Jay-Z.
