“Katie Holmes Tattoo Tribute To Cruise,” reads the headline of a post on PopCrunch which, like several other blogs, is reporting the actress is “hoping to get inked with a tribute that will display her devotion” to her husband.

According to PopCrunch, Katie Holmes decided she wanted a tattoo after her friend Victoria Beckham marked her 10^th wedding anniversary by having “the Hebrew words for ‘Together, Forever, Eternally’ inked on her wrist in honor of her soccer star husband” David Beckham. The blog adds, “Katie’s dying for a similar testiment (sic) to her own love;” however, Tom Cruise ”isn’t so sure he wants his beloved bride taking such a permanent walk on the wild side.” A so-called source says, “He’s desperately trying to talk her out of getting the tattoo.”

No need to talk her out of it. Holmes is not looking to get inked up. Her rep tells Gossip Cop that this fast-spreading story is “completely false.”

PopCrunch reports, “Lindsay Lohan is in chats to play a character loosely based on herself in a big screen romantic comedy currently in development.”

The item goes on to say, “Producers John Edmonds Kozma and Richard O’Sullivan are working on a new dating comedy called One Night With You and they hope to land Lohan as their star.”

So how is the part “loosely based” on Lohan?

The role, according to PopCrunch’s piece, is that “of a scandal-ridden former child star who goes to rehab and revamps her career by appearing on a reality dating show.”

We’re not exactly sure how “Lohan is in chats” to do this film, since Lohan herself told Gossip Cop exclusively that she has “not heard of such a thing.”

The Globe story about Madonna wanting her own Mattel doll is about as accurate as Barbie is anatomically correct.

The piece, repeated on numerous blogs, has Madonna wanting a doll in her very own image after hearing that Mattel was making one for “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum. According to the Globe, “The Material Mom immediately contacted Mattel, figuring she was a shoe-in, but because of her raunchy image, the toy company turned her down flat!”

Yeah, we can imagine the conversation: “Uh . . . Mattel. Hi, this is Madonna . . . (pause) . . . no, the singer.”

Anyway, the Globe further claims, “Since she’s used to getting what she wants, Madonna is now considering launching her own doll collection to rival Barbie.”

Not surprisingly, her rep tells Gossip Cop, “It isn’t true,” and then joked that her supposed new company will manufacture dolls that have “the same arms as her.”

Farrah Fawcett’s best friend is fighting back. Alana Stewart called Gossip Cop to exclusively set the record straight about allegations made by Ryan O’Neal’s estranged son, Griffin, claiming that Stewart and Ryan O’Neal were having an affair.

In the July 27^th issue of In Touch, Griffin O’Neal said Stewart and Ryan O’Neal “were sharing a room together” and that Fawcett’s father walked in on them in a bedroom. Stewart called the story a “lie” and added, “It NEVER happened. Saying that is despicable.”

Stewart told Gossip Cop that Fawcett’s home had one guest room, and that’s where the “Love Story” star stayed alone. Stewart slept at home, but would come to visit her dearest friend every day.

“It’s inconceivable anyone would say that,” said Stewart, referring to the allegations of her hooking up with Fawcett’s longtime love. “I would never do anything before, during or after Farrah’s death. I was a friend of Farrah’s for 30 years.”

Stewart was also upset that Griffin claimed O’Neal “was using Farrah for her money and fame.” According to Stewart, “Ryan has plenty of his own money, more money than Farrah did.” Stewart said O’Neal, who’s made some smart investments, “has never taken a dime from her” and had “always been generous to her,” particularly the last few years.

The ex-wife of rocker Rod Stewart came to Gossip Cop because she wanted the world to know the truth, and “there’s no point in suing Griffin,” she said, “because it would cost tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees,” and there would be little to recoup from the younger O’Neal.

Stewart also recalled for Gossip Cop how “excruciating” it was for her to watch Fawcett die. She said, “I never gave up – until almost the end – that some miracle would happen.” As for Ryan, she said he was “heartbroken” as Fawcett passed away, and confirmed that had the “Charlie’s Angels” star lived a little longer, O’Neal and Fawcett “would have gotten married.”

The blogs have gone meshugganah, speculating that Spears is forsaking her Baptist roots after a picture appeared of the singer in Paris sporting a Star of David. In its headline PopCrunch asks, “Britney Spears Jewish? Britney Spears Converting to Judaism?”

And while it’s true that after some coaxing from Madonna, Spears dabbled in Kabbalah, a source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop it’s not true.

It seems like this is probably nothing more than a Jewelry thing.

Sometimes there’s a real discrepancy between reality TV and what’s reality. Take this scoop about “Scoop” star Scarlett Johansson.

The Sun breathlessly reported that Johansson was set to star in a British reality series that would chronicle her everyday existence, as well as those of a few other famous ladies, including Paris Hilton and Peaches Geldoff. It was touted that host Fearne Cotton would offer British viewers an inside look into these public figures’ private lives. One hitch: No one ever bothered to tell Johansson about her starring role.

According to PopCrunch, ScarJo’s rep said she was never approached nor would she ever participate. He added that nothing was Lost in Translation — “It’s a complete fabrication.”
