“Lady GaGa Gives Newlywed Couple The Ultimate Gift!” exclaims a giddy Perez Hilton.

According to a story from The Sun and picked up by Perez, Gaga was at a London pub, The Raven, where she went up to a couple named Ewan and Julie Searle and “asked them if they were celebrating, to which Julie responded ‘Yes, we got married.’”

Perez then reports, “In response to that, GaGa said ‘That calls for a song,’ and she asked if anyone could play guitar… A French guy named Sam got a guitar, and they played The Rolling Stones‘ Gimme Shelter together.”

The blogger then ends his post by saying, “Congrats to GaGa for once again reminding us why she is SO awesome!”

And congrats to Perez for once again reminding us why he is SO bad.

Gossip Cop checked with The Raven, and a manager told us exclusively that while the singer was indeed in the pub on Saturday, the part about her singing to the newlyweds “isn’t true.”

For a guy who calls himself a celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton sure doesn’t know much about… celebrities.

This time around, Perez writes, “We keep hearing about a possible close friendship or more between [Christina] Aguilera and the Good Charotte (sic) rocker” Benji Madden.

Could those be the voices in his head he’s hearing?

Perez then goes on to note, “Christina seems to have become very buddy buddy with Benji’s sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, in 2010,” before he editorializes, “Very interesting indeed!”

Not really.

A source close to the recently separated singer tells Gossip Cop that Perez’s story is “ridiculous” and “1,000 percent false.”

Indeed.

“Madonna Has A New Man?” asks Perez Hilton, who rarely has the right answer.

Picking up on a New York Post piece, Perez writes, “After reportedly splitting recently from Jesus Luz, Madonna has found herself a new man in choreographer Brahim Rachiki!”

Really?

Perez then regurgitates how Madonna was spotted at the New York hotspot SL, where she “got up and was dancing for an hour straight before going back to her man” and “making out” with him.

He then notes Madonna and Rachiki then headed to another joint called the Sullivan Room for more dancing and kissing.

So, are reports about the superstar dating Brahim Rachiki accurate?

“Not true,” Madonna tells Gossip Cop via her rep.

According to Perez, “Sources are reporting that Men In Black III has enlisted Betty White to join their task force. In what capacity, we’re not sure.”

We looked into this story, and White’s agent told us, “No one has ever approached me for Betty in Men In Black 3.”

“Ashton And Demi Renew Their Vows!” exclaims Perez Hilton, before snarkily adding, “Publicity stunt?”

After noting that Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore headed to Israel, Perez “reports” that the “couple was trying to get in touch with their spiritual side and… renew their wedding vows.”

He then makes mention of the cheating allegations, which were already debunked by Gossip Cop, and editorializes, “You can’t fool us! This is obviously some ploy to make us think that everything is alright between you two!”

Where do you start?

First , Kutcher and Moore are NOT renewing their vows in Israel, a rep for the actress confirms to Gossip Cop.

Second, everything is fine between the two, who rightfully have decided to ignore the unsubstantiated claims.

Third, the real reason the couple is in Israel is that the social media savvy Kutcher is slated to speak at a conference in the high-tech country.

Once again, the only “fool,” to use Perez’s word, is the blogger himself.

According to the tab, Theron is now dating model-actor Eric Thal.

A so-called “pal” of Thal’s tells Life & Style, the model and Theron “have a lot in common… He’s a farmer who grows all his own vegetables, and Charlize grew up on a farm in South Africa. The two like to escape Hollywood and go to his farm in upstate New York.”

Wow, that’s incredible!

Want to know what’s more incredible?

The story was picked up by Perez Hilton and HollywoodLife without any fact-checking – and it’s totally bogus.

Today is Friday, which can only mean one thing – it’s time for Perez Hilton to claim as accurate something that Gossip Cop disproved TWO DAYS ago.

In the latest installment of “Old & Wrong,” Perez exclaims in a headline, “Idol Set Gets Heated! Seacrest Vs. Lopez!”

Next, he writes, “Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest are both battling to become the top diva of American Idol,” and quotes the equally unreliable In Touch as saying, “Ryan was the one who first suggested Jennifer, but now he’s starting to regret it, because she’s acting like she’s a much bigger star than he is.”

The bag blogger then wrongly regurgitates how “the two have been battling over everything from their dressing rooms to receiving top billing.”

As Gossip Cop was the first to note TWO DAYS AGO, not only do our Idol sources say everything is fine between Lopez and Seacrest, but the singer’s rep says, “They are friends and this isn’t at all true.”

And a rep for Seacrest also told Gossip Cop that talk of strife is “totally untrue.”

Incredibly, this is not the oldest story Perez did today.

Journalism’s joker also has a piece titled, “Whitney’s Half Sister Is A Fraud – And A Man!” that he took practically word for word from a New York Post story that ran on MAY 31.

“Jim Carrey & Jenny McCarthy On The Mend?!” asks Perez Hilton, who poses a lot of questions yet rarely has any answers.

In an example of the blind leading the blind, Perez picks up an item from Star magazine about Jim Carrey “finding his way back into the heart of Jenny McCarthy.”

He “reports” the two have been “reconnecting and have bee (sic) talking ‘daily ever since.’”

Perez then editorializes, “We’d really love this to be true. They were really cute with each other!”

Unfortunately for Perez, somewhere between wishing and reality, there’s a thing called “fact-checking.” Gossip Cop did just that with a mutual pal of ours and Carrey’s, and we were told there’s “no truth to the article. They’re not together.”

Just when we thought there was no way Perez Hilton could get another story wrong today, he did.

In a piece titled, “Natalie Portman Goes From Black Swan To Snow White,” the blogger reports, “Natalie is in talks to star in director Jean-Pierre Jeunet‘s edgy adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Brothers Grimm: Snow White.”

Perez then opines, “Perhaps the Portman/Jeunet team can do something great with Snow White!”

Next he spews, “We’re def intrigued and we’ll be curious to hear how this project progresses AND we’ll be curious to hear who will play the seven dwarfs.”

Perez wasn’t, however, “curious” to see whether his information was accurate or not.

It isn’t.

A rep for Portman tells Gossip Cop the rumor is “not true.”

Even though Portman won’t be in the film, we’re still “curious” to see whether Perez will be cast as “Dopey.”

“Drew Barrymore Is Going Bollywood!” screams a headline on Perez Hilton.

According to the bad blogger, Barrymore is “the latest [star] to take a role in an Indian film, called The Lifestyle!”

Perez, who never checks his sources, then quotes director Santosh Kumar Jain as saying, “I really liked her performance in Charlie’s Angels and decided to cast her in my film. Fortunately, she liked the script and agreed instantly. The film is about three women from different walks of life, trying to assert their identities. Drew plays the role of a foreigner in the film.”

Perez then giddily adds, “Inneresting!” before mockingly writing, “Drew playing a character outside of her element in a foreign country? Lost In Translation, anyone?”

Well, what’s interesting is how often the facts get lost when translated by Perez.

Barrymore is not doing this Bollywood film.

In fact, her rep tells Gossip Cop that’s Perez’s post is “100% false.”

Nothing lost in the translation there.

Despite the New York Times calling Chelsea Handler‘s hosting of the 2010 Video Music Awards “the worst in [the] show’s history,” she’s certainly happy with her performance.

And she even tweeted her satisfaction and an expletive directed at Perez Hilton, who said on Twitter that he “would have done a better job than Chelsea did!”

Uh, he can’t even do his own job.

Anyway, Handler responded to Perez, “oh, f*** off. I had a blast and the show [was] awesome last night. Bomb? Your life is a bomb.”

Far from bombing, the show scored huge ratings. With 11.4 million viewers last night, the awards show drew its largest audience since 2002.

Handler tweeted later, ”Just got word…Highest rated vma’s since 2002. Good job, mtv! Good job, kiddo.”

“Lindsay Lohan wants a baby,” reads the headline of an In Touch story, which was picked up by a number of unreliable outlets, including Perez Hilton.

According to In Touch, Lohan is “determined to stay sober and thinks the best way for her to achieve that goal is to get pregnant.”

A so-called “pal” claims Lohan believes “having a baby could straighten out her life.”

Uh, huh…

The tab also reports Lohan “hates being alone and thinks a baby would make the perfect companion. She’s seen what motherhood has done for former party girl Nicole Richie and thinks it can do the same for her.”

This story, not surprisingly, is wrong.

Lohan, currently gracing the cover of Vanity Fair, is in no rush to have a baby. She’s now concentrating on her film career.

Additionally, Gosssip Cop checked with a source close to the star, who told us the In Touch story is absolutely “absurd.”

Perez continues, “Amy Winehouse has reportedly peeled herself off of the sidewalk and somehow has managed to gather enough lucid focus to invite the equally sober Pete Doherty to come and live with her.”

“Yes. Seriously. This actually happened!” the accuracy-challenged blogger insists.

No.

Seriously.

This NEVER happened.

In fact, a rep for Winehouse calls Hilton’s report “complete BS.”

Happy Anniversary, Perez!

Exactly three years ago today, Perez Hilton posted a story that was among the reasons we created Gossip Cop. It was on this day in 2007 that Perez proved just how “dead” wrong he often is.

Perez declared, “Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that U.S. officials will be holding a press conference shortly to announce the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.”

Uh, still waiting . . .

He even boasted, “PerezHilton.com was the first media outlet in the world to break the news of Castro’s death.”

Yes, the first… and only.

Not leaving wrong enough alone, he updated his post 50 minutes later, writing, ”The announcement of Fidel Castro’s death will be made at approximately 4:00 P.M. Eastern, PerezHilton.com has just been updated exclusively.”

But after being “exclusively” proven wrong, about 75 minutes later Hilton defiantly put up a third story titled, “The Truth Will Come Out,” in which he stood “100%” by his story that “Fidel Castro is dead!”

Well, three years have gone by, and the truth has come out… Perez Hilton is still “100%” a clown.

One day, however, Fidel Castro will die, and Perez will finally be able to brag that he was the “first” to break the news of Castro’s death – of course, it will have been a good three years-plus before it ever happened.

Again, Happy Anniversary, Perez, and thanks – sort of – for keeping Gossip Cop busy!

Yesterday, Gossip Cop busted Perez Hilton and other sites for falsely reporting that Angelina Jolie was going to star as Marilyn Monroe in a film adaptation of the book, “The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe.”

We also noted that George Clooney was not set to play Frank Sinatra in the movie, as erroneously reported by Perez and Hollyscoop, to name a few.

In fact, a rep for Jolie told Gossip Cop flat out, “Angelina is NOT attached to this project,” and Clooney’s spokesman called the casting stories “totally fabricated.

But never one to get a story wrong just once, today Perez scribbled, “Angelina Jolie is now expressing mixed feelings about starring as Marilyn Monroe,” and “wants to have a long chat with Clooney before making any decisions.”

Huh?

So she’s going to consult Clooney about co-starring in a film that he’s (also) not in?

Bottom line: Perez was wrong yesterday about Jolie and Clooney starring in the film, and he’s still wrong today.

Maybe one day Perez will actually steal the accurate story – that Angelina Jolie is NOT starring as Marilyn Monroe.

“Angelina Jolie has gotten the gig most actresses in Hollywood would die to get. Jolie will play Marilyn Monroe in the movie version of The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog,” begins another WHOLLY INACCURATE report from the hacks at Hollyscoop.

The site continues to embarrass itself by noting, “Angie will star alongside George Clooney who will play Frank Sinatra. That should be a fun movie set considering the fact that Clooney is BFF’s with Brad Pitt.”

Uh, Mr. Roarke says it’s time to leave “Fantasy Island.”

Not surprisingly, Hollyscoop’s journalistic equal, Perez Hilton, also picked up this tall tale for a post titled, “Angelina Jolie To Play Marilyn Monroe.”

Perez similarly claimed, “The role of Sinatra will be played by another Hollywood heavyweight, George Clooney.”

Suffice to say, the blogs’ stories are 100 PERCENT WRONG.

A rep for Jolie tell Gossip Cop that reports of the Oscar winner playing Monroe are “not true.” And Clooney’s rep called the stories “totally fabricated.”

“Big Mouth QB Reveals He’ll Be Dancing Next Season,” reads a headline on Perez Hilton.

The bad blogger reports that “Big Mouth,” otherwise known as NFL legend Troy Aikman, told paparazzi he’ll be a “Dancing With The Stars” contestant.

“Chances are, if this is true, execs are going to be none-too-pleased with Troy for breaking the news,” speculates Hilton. “Or maybe he’s just making the whole thing up.”

While “making the whole thing up” is often a phrase Gossip Cop associates with Hilton himself, it turns out Aikman was just joking with the paps.

Unlike Hilton, Gossip Cop actually fact-checks stories, and we confirmed through show sources that there are no plans for Aikman to appear on the dancing competition program that his former Dallas Cowboys teammate Emmitt Smith won in 2006.

In addition to his stories being old and inaccurate, what’s really striking about Perez Hilton is his ability to get so much wrong with so few words.

Today, in a 75-word item about Jessica Simpson and Jeremy Renner, Perez claims that after their “fling,” Simpson “went over to see him and the visit ended up being pretty ‘awkward’ considering he had already moved on with another woman!”

Uh, Gossip Cop debunked that story a couple of days ago when a source close to Simpson assured us that alleged incident “never happened.”

But wait, it gets worse.

Perez then snipes that Simpson has moved on “with Eric Johnson — even if he is using her for the ca$$$h!”

Uh, we busted that rumor earlier today after a Simpson insider told us the “user” claims were false, and the actress/singer is a “savvy woman and knows who to trust and who not to, and so far Eric’s been a good guy.”

Hours after Gossip Cop busted a bogus story that claimed Rihanna was in touch with Chris Brown, Perez naturally reported, “RiRi has been in contact with her ex-assaulter boyfriend, Chris Brown.”

The bad blogger goes on to write that Rihanna has been “talking to Chris over the phone ever since the BET Awards. His ‘emotional’ performance supposedly prompted her to reach out to him.”

“What’s worse,” he adds, is that “RiRi is hoping to see him face-to-face.”

“Divorce Rumors True? Dr. Phil Puts His House On The Market” reads the headline of a post by Perez Hllton, who notes the TV doc is looking to sell his 8-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion, which comes complete with a screening room, a pool, and a billiards room.

Dr. Phil’s desire to unload his massive home prompts Perez to ask, “Could this be another sign of divorce for the hick doctor?” 

The bad blogger even states, “The last time [Dr. Phil] and his wifey looked into selling the place, it was three years ago, amidst divorce rumors.”

Well, those rumors were false then – and so is this latest pile of junk.

Unlike Perez – who blocks Gossip Cop on Twitter because he’s afraid of us – we fact-check stories.

And a source close to Dr. Phil assures us that the Cop Blocker’s divorce insinuation is “ridiculous.”

But wait, it gets better.

Not only is the selling of their house not indicative of an impending divorce, but rather it’s a sign of their commitment.

Dr. Phil and his wife just “purchased another house” together, says our insider.

“Oh, no!” cries Perez Hilton. “James Bond 23 has been officially canceled now that MGM is going bankrupt.”

But do not be shaken nor stirred.

A few sentences later, the journalism’s Joker manages to contradict himself, claiming the film starring Daniel Craig “has been postponed indefinitely.”

Well, which is it?

Canceled or postponed?

Clearly Hilton himself has no idea, so allow us to explain…

While it’s true MGM is going through some financial bumps, the next Bond installment has not been canceled.

In fact, nothing has changed at all.

A source close to Craig tells Gossip Cop, “The situation remains exactly the same as for the last many months. The filmmakers formally announced then that the current production of Bond 23 was being postponed due to the issues relating to the sale of MGM.”

“Nothing has changed,” reiterates our rock-solid source, “and production is only postponed, not canceled.”

And that’s why his name is Wrong. Perez Wrong.

Perez Hilton took a break from tweeting inappropriate photos of minors to report, “George Michael has shelled out $5 million for a beachfront three-story, five-bedroom mansion in Sydney, Australia!”

Quoting a “source,” Hilton notes, “[Michael] loves Sydney and plans to split his time between here and London,” where he shares a multi-million dollar home with his partner Kenny Goss.

Not surprisingly, the Careless Blogger is wrong about the “Careless Whisper” singer.

Michael’s rep confirms to Gossip Cop that he did NOT buy a home in Australia.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Perez Hilton couldn’t get a story right if we spotted him the R-I-G-H and even the T.

“Shannon Elizabeth Is NOT Going To Like This!” reads the headline of a story from Perez Hilton, who’s going to like Gossip Cop‘s post even less.

Taking an e-mail from a “Perezcious reader” – without checking to see if the story was true – Hilton published a piece about how the “reader” was “invited to a house poker game in Los Feliz last Friday, and it turned out to be Shannon Elizabeth’s house.”

Really?

According to Hilton’s source, “We at first think it’s really a treat to be playing poker with her, but it turns out she’s not even playing, she’s just coming in and out and collecting money from people and taking an illegal rake for the house. One pot I was in had only $70 dollars in it, but the dealer took $25 dollars out for the house…..? Anyone who plays poker knows this is nuts.”

Actually, “nuts” is what Hilton’s story is.

The “e-mail” goes on to allege Elizabeth is “so busted apparently that she has to rip poker players off with her D-List status and rob us blind at the poker tables by raking way too much… She’s mean, immature, disrespectful, and just an all around shallow greedy has-been.”

At the end of Hilton’s piece, the bad blogger editorializes, “Out of control!”

No, what’s out of control is that Hilton couldn’t take two minutes away from tweeting out questionable pictures of underage girls to fact-check this story.

Remember, the “reader” claims in the e-mail that this all took place with Elizabeth at her home on “Friday.”

Impossible.

Elizabeth wasn’t even in L.A. on Friday, confirms her rep.

She was in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, which hundreds of witnesses can attest to.

Like they say in poker, Hilton, it’s time for you to fold.

As bad as Hollyscoop is at reporting, you have to marvel at the site’s tenacity and fierceness to go against the grain and ignore criticism – as well as the facts.

Today, the site embarrasses itself with a post under the headline, “Kate Gosselin Gets Her Own Dating Show.”

“Kate Gosselin is on fire!” further declares the site, which gets burned when it reports, “Not only does she have her own show, Kate Plus 8, on TLC, she’s getting her own dating show.”

But rather than checking the accuracy of the dating show rumor, Hollyscoop lazily quotes a so-called “insider” telling the equally off-base Life & Style, “Kate’s working on a deal to do a new reality dating series on ABC.”

NO, SHE’S NOT.

Of course, Hollyscoop is joined by journalism’s other joker, Perez Hilton, who similarly proclaimed, “Kate Gosselin Trying To Get a Dating Show!”

Gossip Cop, on the other hand, fact-checked with an ABC source in the know as well as a Gosselin spokesperson, and both said there was absolutely “no truth” to the tale.

What’s scarier – the thought of Gosselin getting her own dating show or Perez Hilton’s and Hollyscoop’s reporting skills?

“Scarlett Johansson

The online version of the tabloid claims the couple is “planning to adopt a baby from Africa.”

Quoting a so-called “insider,” Star writes, “Scarlett has always wanted to adopt from outside the U.S. She feels now is finally the right time.”

According to the magazine – and repeated by hacks like Perez Hilton - Johansson and Reynolds “are already working with a U.S.-based adoption agency… They’ve narrowed the search [for adopting a baby] to Ghana or Ethiopia.”

This adoption story, however, is fabricated.

A rep for Reynolds tells Gossip Cop, “There is no truth to it whatsoever.”

Showbiz Spy is reporting that “Jennifer Aniston has a new man in her life!”

And who might that be?

Jason Sudeikis of “Saturday Night Live” fame, claims the site.

According to Showbiz Spy – and other equally dubious sites – Aniston has “enjoyed a series of secret dates with Jason, who she met last year when they appeared in The Bounty Hunter together.”

Showbiz Spy notes, “During filming, Jen and Jason’s relationship was strictly platonic because Sudeikis was still married. However, now the actor is divorced and… the pair have taken things to the next level.”

The blog even trots out an unnamed “source” who says Aniston’s “thrilled” to be dating Sudeikis, and that she “finds him hilarious.”

Actually, what’s hilarious is that Showbiz Spy printed this inaccurate story, and Lemming-like sites such as Hollyscoop and Perez Hilton similarly jumped off journalism’s cliff – and crashed.

Aniston’s rep, who had no idea where this erroneous report came from, tells Gossip Cop that talk of the actress dating Sudeikis is “completely false – she hasn’t even seen Jason since filming.”

In another instance of the blind leading the blind, Perez Hilton picks up a tall tale from the National Enquirer to proclaim, “Halle Berry and her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry are back together!”

Hilton writes, “The two are trying to make it work for the sake of baby Nahla.”

The bad blogger even quotes a source saying, “At first it was a practical decision for Halle… But things quickly heated up and got emotional. Now they’re back together and giving their love a second try. They’re in counseling, and they’re putting their hearts and souls into working through their issues.”

Really?

Oh yes, says Hilton, whose so-called “insider” asserts, “Halle’s begun to hope they may make it as a couple for the long run. She said if things work out, she may even agree to finally marry Gabe.”

Enough, enough, enough!

Gossip Cop investigated this story, and a Berry confidante assures us that Hilton’s story (via the Enquirer) “is 100% NOT TRUE!” 

Berry and Aubry “are still friends and raising their daughter,” adds our source who’s close to the Oscar-winner, “but that’s it.”

Careful, ladies.

Sitting in a car can be construed as dating.

Or at least that’s Perez Hilton‘s theory.

The bad blogger writes that “Gossip Girl” stars Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr were seen “getting cozy yesterday afternoon in London.”

The duo broke up in April and Gossip Cop confirmed last month that they weren’t back together even though they were spotted hanging out.

And now the speculation has returned after widely circulated photos showed the pair separately signing autographs for fans and then sitting in a car.

“They looked pretty in love to them!” Hilton continues. “Guess they haven’t split up….yet!”

So have they or haven’t they?

Gossip Cop checked with a source close to Westwick, who maintains “they are NOT back together.”
