Rob Lowe has been doing comedy (“Parks and Recreation”) recently, but he goes bad guy in a big way to play police officer turned suspected murderer Drew Peterson.

For those unfamiliar with the real-life story, Peterson is accused of killing his third and fourth wives.

“I’m untouchable, bitch,” Lowe hisses in the new teaser for Drew Peterson: Untouchable, the Lifetime movie about the made-for-tabloids tale.

Meanwhile, the real Drew Peterson’s criminal defense lawyer says he showed the promo to his imprisoned client, reports the Chicago Tribune.

“He laughed and said, ‘That’s hilarious,’” says attorney Joel Brodsky.

Um… ok.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Rashida Jones had lunch together in Los Angeles yesterday, leading to speculation that the two might be getting romantic.

Their rendezvous at Cafe Gratitude was, of course, captured by paparazzi, although there’s no indication that it was anything more than a friendly lunch.

Gyllenhaal has recently been linked to a number of women, but these tabloid tales always seem to fade quickly.

“Parks and Recreation” actress Jones, the daughter of music industry titan Quincy Jones, can currently be seen in Our Idiot Brother.

A source close to Gyllenhaal tells Gossip Cop he and Jones are longtime friends – and that’s all.

Rob Lowe dishes about growing up with Charlie Sheen and shares excerpts from his upcoming book, Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography, in the new issue of Vanity Fair.

“We competed to see who could play harder, then show up for work and still kick ass,” says Lowe of filming Masquerade in 1987, while Sheen shot Wall Street. “The verdict: Charlie by a nose.”

The “Parks and Recreation” star discusses Sheen in his early years in an excerpt from his book, calling him “one-of-a-kind” and “a wonderful mix of nerd … and rebel.”

Lowe compares his modest family life to the Sheens’, who lived nearby, describing theirs as a paradise filled with “never-ending Häagen-Dazs, brand-new BMWs, a lagoon pool with underwater tunnels, and a lit, professional-grade basketball half-court.”

Also touched on in his autobiography is filming The Outsiders with Patrick Swayze and Tom Cruise back in 1983.

Lowe describes co-star Swayze as “as cool as you want, wearing tight jeans and a tattered, sleeveless Harley-Davidson T-shirt revealing his massive, ripped arms.”

He recalls his first impression of Cruise saying, “He’s open, friendly, funny, and has an almost robotic, bloodless focus and an intensity that I’ve never encountered before.”

The May issue hits newsstands on April 5.

Rob Lowe‘s commitment to “Parks and Recreation” will keep him from replacing Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men,” according to his current boss.

“Men” producers have approached Lowe’s people to discuss the possibility, as Gossip Cop confirmed this week.

But during a “Parks” panel discussion on Wednesday night, executive producer Michael Schur said that Lowe has a “multiyear contract” with the NBC sitcom, and that there’s “no truth” to rumors Lowe will leave.

John Stamos has also been mentioned as a potential addition to “Two and a Half Men.”

During a radio interview yesterday, Sheen endorsed the possible choice of Lowe as a “Men” replacement, saying, “He’s a buddy of mine. He’s a beautiful man. He’s a brilliant actor, and I hope he does it and kicks its a** because I still get [paid].”

An “exclusive” from the generally good Hollyscoop announced, “John Mayer Dating Actress Rashida Jones,” and went on to note that on Friday night the musician “found himself new prey and he’s going to extremes to impress her.”

According to the blog, Mayer and Jones were “on a romantic date” at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, and at one point the “No Such Thing” singer “took the guitar from someone who was performing… at the Chateau and performed an impromptu performance for Rashida.”

Well, John Mayer did NOT have a “romantic” (or any type of) date with Rashida Jones. “She was having dinner with friends – totally independent of him,” her rep told Gossip Cop. The rep for the “Parks and Recreation Star” added, “He came over to the table she was at with her friends, said hello to everyone, [and] asked if he could play the guitar that her friends were already playing.” Mayer’s “performance was not directed at anyone,” including Jones, the daughter of music legend Quincy Jones.
