“The Help” has easily won the Labor Day weekend box office.

The book club favorite turned sleeper hit took the #1 spot with a $19 million haul over the four-day holiday.

Emma Stone’s movie beat three action-packed new releases – “The Debt” ($12.6 million), “Apollo 18″ ($10.7 million), and “Shark Night 3D” ($10.3 million).

Hurricane Irene has taken its toll on Atlantic Seaboard and this weekend’s box office, resulting in possibly the worst weekend of 2011 at the movies.

Still, “The Help” led the pack with $14.3 million in ticket sales.

Zoe Saldana’s revenge-action flick “Colombiana” came in second with $10.3 million.

Nabbing third with $8.7 million was the Katie Holmes horror movie “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.”

ABC is reportedly refusing to air a commercial for ‘Our Idiot Brother,’ the movie starring Paul Rudd, because of references to drug use and a scene in which Rudd’s character appears to urinate.
