Jay-Z and Beyonce “have chosen Oprah Winfrey to be the godmother” of their new daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, reports an extremely excited MediaTakeOut.

The site — which repeatedly claimed Beyonce was NOT pregnant less than two months before she gave birth — insists the couple chose Winfrey because they ”wanted to give the ‘godparents’ role to people NOT ALREADY related to them by family.”

MTO adds that because Winfrey “has become a CLOSE PERSONAL friend to both Jay and Bey,” the choice was an obvious one.

“Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that the new GODMOTHER is the most POWERFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD not named MICHELLE OBAMA!!!” gushes “MediaFakeOut.”

Well, it’s a nice thought.

But unfortunately, the blog is just as clueless about Blue Ivy Carter now as they were before her birth.

Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King debunked the rumor on “The Early Show” Friday, saying, ”It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother.”

King noted, “She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much,” but added, ”If it’s true, it is news to her… she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born.”

“In a terrifying heart attack drama, Oprah Winfrey… collapsed with crushing chest pains shortly after leaving her show,” begins a National Enquirer story.

According to the supermarket tabloid, while recently on vacation in Europe, Oprah “feared she was dying when she suddenly began suffering pressure and pain in her chest.”

The “medical nightmare,” says the Enquirer, is a result of her “chronic binge eating,” and now Oprah’s “facing a desperate option to save her life — risky, four-hour surgery.”

“She’s ready to take drastic measures — even if that means going under the knife,” says a so-called “insider,” who adds, “Her heart attack scare has been a huge wake-up call for Oprah to get healthy or face the prospect of an early grave.”

The tab claims Oprah went on a “food bender” in Europe to cope with the stress of “walking away from her hit syndicated talk show — and straight into a battle to rescue her faltering cable network.”

While abroad, says the Enquirer‘s alleged “insider,” Oprah’s “overindulging finally caught up with her, and she feared she was having a heart attack. She went into a major panic and collapsed.”

So, did Oprah seek medical assistance?

Nope.

But this did happen, right?

Nope.

There was NO “heart attack drama.”

Oprah NEVER “collapsed with crushing chest pains” during her vacation.

And she does NOT need a “risky, four-hour surgery” to save her life.

When Gossip Cop reached out to an Oprah spokesperson, we were told the Enquirer story is simply “not true.”

Of course, none of the Enquirer‘s inaccuracies should surprise anyone. This is the same tabloid that wrongly reported two weeks ago that O.J. Simpson confessed to an Oprah producer that he killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

“Survivor” host Jeff Probst is taking on a new challenge.

The Emmy winner will get his own daytime talk show on CBS in fall 2012.

“I’m fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level,” said Probst in a statement.

He’s hosted all 22 seasons of “Survivor” since its 2000 debut.

There’s been no indication that he’ll leave the adventure reality series.

Probst is just the latest addition to a daytime TV landscape that’s changing rapidly, with Oprah and long-running soap operas leaving the air, Regis Philbin‘s retirement from “Live!” and primetime news talent such as Katie Couric and Anderson Cooper launching daytime programs.

O.J. Simpson has confessed to killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, claims the National Enquirer in a riveting, though specious “exclusive.”

According to the magazine, Simpson is prepared to tell Oprah, on camera, that he stabbed his ex and Goldman to death back in June 1994.

Actually, reports the Enquirer, Simpson already confessed to one of the TV titan’s producers.

An Enquirer “insider” quotes Simpson as telling the producer, “Tell Oprah that yes, I did it. I killed Nicole, but it was in self-defense. She pulled a knife on me and I had to defend myself.”

OK… but why confess now, 17 years after it happened?

Supposedly, Simpson, currently in jail for nine to 33 years for armed robbery and kidnapping, “wants to go out in a blaze of glory – giving his confession… to the most famous TV interviewer of all time,” explains the tab’s “insider.”

The football legend allegedly gave Oprah’s producer an incredible recounting of June 12, 1994, when the famous murders occurred.

After being snubbed earlier that day by Nicole at their daughter Sydney‘s middle school recital, Simpson supposedly “worked himself into an absolute rage” and decided to confront his ex-wife at her Brentwood apartment.

Simpson supposedly says he drove to the residence and started pounding on the door and yelling. According to the former football great, Nicole opened the door and allegedly started waving a kitchen knife and “lunging at me.”

The Enquirer then claims Simpson recalled, “I was in such a rage that something just snapped. I couldn’t take her constant taunting of me with other men or her using drugs and drinking while my kids were living with her. I went berserk!”

“Before I knew what I was doing, I took the knife away from Nicole and started slashing at her. I cut her over and over again until she was lifeless.”

Wow.

Moments later, Goldman arrived and supposedly also lunged at Simpson.

“I stabbed him over and over again. He was very strong and nearly overpowered me. He was trying to kill me,” Simpson is said to have told Oprah’s producer. “Finally, he slumped to the ground – dead.”

“Killing Nicole and Goldman were acts of self-defense,” Simpson is quoted as saying in the Enquirer.

If Oprah actually had Simpson on camera confessing to the double murder, or even plans for such a bombshell interview, it would be enormous news.

But that’s not the case.

The conversation between Simpson and the “producer” never happened.

There was no shocking confession, no grisly account of events, and no promise to put it on television.

“It’s not true,” a rep for Oprah tells Gossip Cop.

While the talk show queen has noted in the past that Simpson would be her dream interview, the Enquirer‘s latest offering is simply something the tabloid dreamed up.

Is Oprah pursuing Meredith Vieira?

The media empress is “ardently wooing” the just-departed “Today Show” anchor for a series on her OWN network, according to the National Enquirer.

A so-called “insider” claims Oprah is “offering Meredith the moon to come aboard” and “bending over backward to accommodate any schedule Meredith wants.”

The tabloid makes it seem like a deal is imminent.

“Oprah’s excited, telling close pals she thinks a deal is close,” alleges the Enquirer source.

So is Vieira really about to land a big gig at OWN?

Um… no.

“We love Meredith, but there’s no truth to that rumor,” a rep for OWN tells Gossip Cop.

Oprah ended her 25-year run with one guest for her finale — Oprah.

The last episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which taped yesterday — and will air today — had Oprah summing up the lessons she’s learned over the past quarter century hosting her eponymous show.

Oprah told the audience, “This isn’t goodbye. This is until we meet again,” before kissing and hugging longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham, and then walking through the halls of her Harpo Studios, where she said her goodbyes to her staff.

Later in the show, Oprah said, “I’ve spoken to nearly 30,000 people on this show and all 30,000 had one thing in common: A need for validation. Everybody wants to be heard.”

She urged viewers to “validate” the people in their lives by listening to them and making them feel that they matter, and gave out her new email address (oprah@oprah.com) so that fans could continue to be heard.

Asked about the secret to her success, Oprah answered, ”My team… and Jesus.”

There was star power in the audience. At the final show were Maria Shriver, Cicely Tyson, gal pal Gayle King, Suze Orman, and Tyler Perry.

Even though Maria Shriver is going through a “painful and heartbreaking” time as a result of Arnold Schwarzenegger fathering a child out of wedlock, she put on a brave face at the taping of her close friend Oprah‘s farewell shows last night.

Shriver was actually at dinner with Winfrey on Monday when she learned of Schwarzenegger’s decision to go public with his sex scandal.

Nevertheless, she pointedly told the talk show queen in front of an audience of 20,000 fans, “For more than 30 years, you bestowed the most amazing friendship on me, given me love, support, wisdom and most of all truth.”

The word “truth” seemingly resonated with the audience, which erupted in applause at Shriver’s words.

Last night, it was revealed that the couple’s former housekeeper Mildred Baena is the reported mother of Schwarzenegger’s love child.

Oprah Winfrey taped her third and second to last shows on Tuesday night in front of more than 20,000 fans inside Chicago’s United Center.

The first one-hour show was hosted by Tom Hanks, who told the talk-show queen, “Today you are surrounded by nothing but love,” before noting that “pulling off this surprise [filled show] has been a mission impossible.”

Enter Tom Cruise, who Winfrey said “looked like you were 10 when you on my show in 1988.” Cruise has been a guest one dozen times on the show.

Next up was “America’s Got Talent” phenom Jackie Evancho, who sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and was joined by Josh Groban and then Patti LaBelle.

Not enough?

Madonna walked on stage and told Oprah, “You look surprised,” before adding, “Millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of them… She’s a self-made woman who’s been at the top of her game for over 25 years and she is still kicking ass.”

Dakota Fanning came out next to talk about “‘Oprah Show’ Babies,” the generation who grew up watching the program and learning “that girls can run the world.”

That then segued into Beyonce, dressed in a tuxedo leotard, singing her hit, “Run the World (Girls).”

Diane Sawyer was also on hand to announce that 25,000 oak trees are being planted in honor of Oprah, who joked with the audience, “You get a tree, and you get a tree, and you get a tree. Everybody gets a tree!”

Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes came out to talk about viewers — who were in the audience — who’ve helped their communities through various charitable acts.

Holmes and Cruise then introduced Rascal Flatts, who closed out the show with a performance of “I Won’t Let You Go.”

The second taped show on Tuesday, slated to the be next to last aired “Oprah Winfrey Show,” was hosted by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

And the first guest was former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, who arrived in the Windy City the same year that Oprah did.

Following the basketball great was Jamie Foxx performing “Isn’t She Lovely.” Foxx was joined on piano by Stevie Wonder, who later sang a song he wrote just for Oprah.

Jerry Seinfeld followed Wonder with a standup routine.

After Simon Cowell made a cameo that included him saying, “You are a very good kisser,” Rosie O’Donnell took the stage to sing, “Fever,” with a number of special Oprah-specific lyrics. Joining O’Donnell onstage were Oprah proteges Dr. Phil, Nate Berkus, and Dr. Oz.

And then — just hours after the shocking revelation that Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child out of wedlock – Maria Shriver hit the stage with Gayle King and told Oprah, “For more than 30 years, you bestowed the most amazing friendship on me, given me love, support, wisdom and most of all truth.”

Kristin Chenoweth sang a tune from “Wicked,” which was followed up by a poem Maya Angelou wrote and performed specially for Oprah. Alicia Keys then crooned the song, “Superwoman.”

In a rare public appearance, Stedman Graham took the stage to laud his longtime girlfriend. “I’m so proud of you,” he told his “sweetheart.”

Graham then introduced Aretha Franklin, who belted out “Amazing Grace.”

“I’ve never experienced anything like this,” Oprah told the massive audience, adding, “Thank you for taking me to a place that’s beyond joyous.”

But Will Smith told Oprah there was just one more remaining surprise… Usher, who performed a medley of “O.M.G.” and “Oh Happy Day” before confetti exploded across the audience.

The two taped shows will air on May 23 and May 24. Oprah’s last show is May 25.

In a piece titled, “Michaele Salahi releases single inspired by Oprah,” the Washington Post reports that Salahi has “launched a new career as a pop princess” with the single, “Bump It,” and her “inspiration” for becoming a recording artist is none other than Oprah Winfrey.

The paper then quotes a press release from the former “Real Housewives of DC” star: “Michaele Salahi was inspired to do something with her voice, when she was back stage with Grammy award winner Bebe Winans and television host Oprah Winfrey at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. during the inauguration of President Barack Obama. It was a defining moment backstage when Oprah told Michaele, ‘Wow, you have an amazing voice!’”

Wow, fact-check much, Washington Post?

It’s a lovely, self-serving anecdote… but it’s not true.

Winfrey’s rep tells Gossip Cop, “Oprah briefly met Ms. Salahi backstage at the Kennedy Center after an Oprah Show taping in January 2009.  However, there’s absolutely no truth to the report that they discussed Ms. Salahi’s vocal abilities.”

Like Salahi, this Washington Post story also crashes.

“ROSIE & OPRAH: IT’S WAR” blares a headline from In Touch, which claims Rosie O’Donnell and Oprah Winfrey are butting heads over O’Donnell’s talk show on Winfrey’s network OWN.

According to a supposed “insider” for the tabloid, the former rivals are bickering about “everything from production details to guests.”

“Rosie isn’t used to having someone tell her what to do, but Oprah isn’t about to give up control,” explains the “source.”

Things supposedly got so heated between the talk show queens that Winfrey “hung up on Rosie after one tense conversation!”

No, she didn’t.

None of this ever happened.

O’Donnell and Winfrey are NOT feuding.

A rep for O’Donnell tells Gossip Cop the mag’s story is “absolutely absurd,” and calls it a “classic tabloid story made up about two women who are collaborating together and NOT pitted against one another.”

And an OWN spokesperson similarly notes In Touch‘s tale is ”absolutely untrue.”

President Obama just finished speaking with Oprah about the decision to release his birth certificate this morning.

In an interview set to air on May 2, Obama explained that the issue was becoming a distraction as the government attempted to deal with more serious matters, such as the national budget and investment in education.

“The biggest news was this birth certificate thing,” said the President.

“And so at that point I said to my team, look… Even though the Republican Governor of Hawaii, the Democratic Governors of Hawaii, all the various officials had confirmed that I was born here, let’s ask them for a special dispensation where they will go ahead and provide us with the original to see if we can put this to rest.”

Obama continued, “We are living in a very serious time” and “we can’t be distracted by sideshows and, as I said at my press conference, carnival barkers who are going around trying to get attention instead of actually solving the problems.”

The President did offer some levity.

At one point the talk show host asked, “When [the birth issue] first came up, were you thinking, ‘I hope I was born here’?”

“Can I just say… I was there, so I knew – so I knew that I had been born. I remembered it,” replied Obama, as the audience laughed.

Michael Douglas says Catherine Zeta-Jones was “outed” in her struggle with bipolar disorder during an “Oprah” interview airing today.

“I must say, Catherine’s being quite open about it because she was outed,” Douglas tells the host. “She went [into treatment] to go get some help and some other patient probably in there said, ‘Hey, you won’t believe who’s in here now.’”

“Once that happens,” continues the actor, “I think she felt [it] best to kind of get out the story.”

Zeta-Jones opened up to People last week, talking about her diagnosis and telling others, “There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help.”

Douglas spoke with Oprah about the difficulties of the past year, during which he fought throat cancer and saw his son Cameron sentenced to federal prison.

The actor empathized with how hard the situation must have been on Zeta-Jones, explaining, “My son is in federal prison, my ex-wife is suing me… it’s kind of hard for the wife to say that she’s depressed.”

But Douglas added that his wife is now doing “great.”

“She’s shooting a movie down in Louisiana, and I think she’s relieved she has a better understanding [of bipolar disorder],” he said.

President Obama will pay his respects to Oprah on April 27.

The Commander-in-Chief and Michelle Obama are set to tape a farewell interview at Harpo Studios with the talk show queen, whose final show is May 25.

The Obamas will then remain in Chicago for three fundraisers.

The First Family has a long history with fellow Chicagoan Oprah, who campaigned on their behalf in 2008.

Last August, the talk show host was among the guests at a small birthday celebration for President Obama at Graham Elliot, a restaurant in Chicago.

Oprah’s interview with President and Mrs. Obama will air on May 2.

Tina Fey is five months pregnant.

The “30 Rock” star announced the news during a taping of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in which she was promoting her new book, “Bossypants.”

This is the second child for Fey and her husband, composer Jeff Richmond.

The couple has a 5-year-old daughter named Alice.

Oprah‘s legendary studio won’t be empty for too long after the talk empress leaves in May.

Rosie O’Donnell is moving into Harpo Studios in Chicago and will use Oprah’s stage for her new talk show on OWN.

The move will keep the famed studio and many employees in production after “The Oprah Winfrey Show” makes its final exit.

O’Donnell confirmed the news in a short video in which she introduces herself to her new Harpo family.

“Courteney Cox added fuel to the rumors that she’s dating her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt when she jetted off to Oahu, Hawaii, with him and her daughter” on February 27, writes Life & Style.

The mag then notes that “their first big romantic trip together came just days after Courteney’s estranged husband, David Arquette, revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show that he had suspected Courteney had cheated on him before they announced their separation last October.”

To the tab’s credit, it acknowledges that Arquette then told Oprah he was wrong to believe rumors of Cox cheating, and knows there’s zero truth to the stories.

That said, however, Life & Style, did omit one very important detail about Cox and Van Holt’s trip to Hawaii – it was for work.

The cast of  “Cougar Town” has been shooting in Hawaii for the past week, and pictures of Cox filming scenes with on-screen boyfriend Josh Hopkins have even been all over the internet.

If that’s not enough, a rep for Cox confirms to Gossip Cop that the Life & Style story is not true.

Too bad Life & Style was lei-zy with its Hawaii report.

In his first post-rehab interview, David Arquette talks to Oprah about his struggle with alcohol and an intervention that included his estranged wife Courteney Cox.

The actor tells the talk show host about waking up from a nap to find Cox and his sister Patricia Arquette waiting at his bed.

“Courteney’s like, ‘Do you mind coming out to the living room for a minute?’ recalls Arquette to Oprah. When he got dressed, he saw his best friend, business partner and others waiting for him.

“I go ‘What up, turkeys? I guess this is my intervention!’”

The star discusses an early start with booze, saying that he had his first beer when he was just four years old.

“I was down in the basement with my dad and the beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. I remember that. It’s one of my earliest memories,” Arquette tells Oprah.

“I seriously started drinking probably when I was about 12,” remembers Arquette. “I stole pot from my father when I was eight years old.”

The full interview airs on today’s “Oprah.”

“Uh-O: Rosie and Oprah Have Their Very OWN Rift,” reads the headline of a piece on PopEater.

The site claims “Oprah and Rosie have not been seeing eye to eye” on a number of things involving O’Donnell‘s new show on OWN.

According to a source for the site, “The two are disagreeing over staff… Oprah wants Rosie to use an executive producer that she knows and trusts while Rosie insists she be able to pick her own, fearing whoever Oprah picks will be a spy.”

PopEater’s source adds, “It’s a bad way to start off, considering they haven’t even taped a single show yet.”

However, there is no “rift.”

A spokesperson for the network assures Gossip Cop that the PopEater piece is “totally untrue.” And O’Donnell herself now tweeted, “read I was feuding with o – not true.”

The body of a newborn baby was found at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls outside Johannesburg, South Africa.

A 17-year-old student at the school gave birth to the infant, which was discovered in a plastic bag.

Police are investigating.

It has not been determined whether the baby died of natural causes or was killed.

The mother is currently being treated at a nearby hospital.

A rep for Oprah tells Gossip Cop they’re not commenting right now on the situation.

On Wednesday, the same day Michael Vick suddenly canceled his sit-down appearance on Oprah, the talk show queen nabbed an equally riveting interview.

David Arquette will appear on “Oprah” next Thursday in his first interview since leaving rehab.

The interview was actually taped yesterday, a rep for the show confirms to Gossip Cop.

Arquette, who separated from Courteney Cox in October after 11 years of marriage, checked into rehab over New Year’s weekend to seek treatment for alcohol and depression.

Michael Vick has canceled his sit-down appearance with Oprah.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, whose NFL comeback followed a jail sentence for dog fighting, had been set to sit down with the animal-loving talk queen for a major interview.

“After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22,” Vick said in a statement.

“I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future.”

So far, that future date has not been set.

In one of the videos (posted below), Mary Harvey claims, “He took my Wynton from me; he turned my son against me; had me evicted; thrown out.”

The former Mrs. Harvey says the comedian, who’s written books on relationships, including “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” was a serial cheater who had an affair with Marjorie Bridges while they were still married.

Steve and Mary Harvey divorced in 2005, and then two years later the “Family Feud” host wed Bridges.

Harvey’s attorney, Bobbie Edmonds, calls Mary’s allegations, “False, misleading, derogatory, disparaging, malicious, explicit and slanderous,” and notes that there are court orders prohibiting both parties from “discussing and releasing information [about their divorce] on the Internet and to the media. We are taking the necessary legal steps to rectify this matter to the full extent of the law.”

Mary Harvey says she’s only speaking now because her ex-husband recently sued her, alleging she was “responsible when Oprah did not give him a TV show.”

She also claims she’s being vocal because her name keeps popping up in stories about her famous ex. “To keep seeing my name referenced when talking about his life – that part of it, I don’t understand,” she says.

Oprah revealed on her show today that she has a half-sister she never knew about.

The woman, named Patricia, lives in Milwaukee.

Oprah learned about her in November, and they met for the first time on Thanksgiving.

Oprah was 9 years old when her mother, Vernita Lee, gave Patricia up for adoption. Oprah says she had no idea her mother was even pregnant.

The big revelation comes after a weekend of intense speculation about Oprah’s family history.

Last week, Oprah said that she had “news that literally shook me to my core,” adding, “This time, I’m the one being reunited.”

She further noted she was “keeping a family secret for months.”

Generally, we only laugh at ridiculously inaccurate reports, but SNL’s recurring segment about wildly wrong news makes us laugh for all the right reasons.

In the “Weekend Update” bit called “Second-Hand News,” funnyman Bobby Moynihan plays a guy named Anthony Crispino, who delivers what he thinks are scoops, but are really hilariously off-base rumors.

The clip (below) features Crispino’s take on Oprah Winfrey launching the OWN network, John Boehner becoming the new Speaker of the House, and Brett Favre retiring from the NFL.
