Who are the real “liars” here?

HollywoodLife just posted a story that says Nikki Reed recently called Robert Pattinson a “liar.”

According to the site, the actress “confirmed the rumors she’s feuding with [Pattinson] and Kristen Stewart in a recent behind the scenes interview with Seventeen.”

No, she didn’t.

We know because we actually watched the accompanying video.

In it, Reed is asked what she’ll miss most about Pattinson now that The Twilight Saga has wrapped.

She answers, “He tells very elaborate stories, and it’s fun to pick them part to see what’s true and what’s not, because he’s a big storyteller.”

Those were her exact, innocuous words.

HollywoodLife’s interpretation?

“Yikes! Instead of saying one simple thing about Rob, Nikki ripped him apart and called him a liar,” writes the site.

That’s not true.

Either HollywoodLife doesn’t understand tone, doesn’t listen carefully, lacks basic comprehension skills, or simply doesn’t care about reporting accurately.

Given the site’s abysmal track record, we suspect it’s all of the above.

A new Star magazine piece fans the flames of an alleged “feud” between Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed, mostly as a way of making Stewart look bad.

The two actresses “can’t stand each other,” a so-called “insider” tells the tabloid. “They don’t even talk anymore.”

What went down?

Well, even though Reed is now happily married to Paul McDonald, “Kristen has never forgiven Nikki for the fling” she supposedly had with Robert Pattinson, claims Star‘s source, adding, “Kristen never confronted Rob about the affair; she just put the blame on Nikki and accused her of pursuing him.”

So, in the magazine’s version of history, an “affair” blew up Stewart and Reed’s friendship, even though both stars are currently in happy relationships and have seemed perfectly fine with each other in recent years.

Star also says Reed has a problem with Stewart’s “hypocritical attitude toward stardom.”

“Nikki’s the most down-to-earth actress you’ll ever meet,” explains the “source.” “Kristen acts like she can’t be bothered by fame, yet she lives for all the press about her and Rob.”

In other words, Stewart is supposedly desperate for tabloid chatter, and this alleged obsession with fame bothers Reed.

Pattinson, meanwhile, “has been trying to play mediator,” but Star suspects Stewart is going to ruin his friendship with Reed, too.

“It won’t last – not if Kristen has anything to say about it,” says the mag’s insider.

Wait, so Stewart and Reed have allegedly been warring forever, but all of a sudden Stewart wants to torpedo Reed’s friendship with Pattinson?

None of this makes any sense.

If Stewart really thought there was something between Reed and Pattinson, why would she be so upset only now, with Reed already married to someone else and her own romance with Pattinson going well?

And why would Stewart be faking her disdain for tabloid attention on her private life?

A source close to the actress laughed off the Star report, telling Gossip Cop there’s no truth to overheated talk about a feud between her and Reed.

Nikki Reed and her husband Paul McDonald wed last month, debuted their duet “Now That I Found You” on Ryan Seacrest‘s show on Monday, and then sang it during a Barnes & Noble appearance later this week.

Fans captured the couple’s cute moment with cell phone cameras.

In a video interview with Rolling Stone, Reed discusses this new side to her career.

“The only person that inspires what I write about is Paul, so that’s what those lyrics were about,” says the Breaking Dawn actress.

In an interview with Seventeen, Nikki Reed made a few candid comments about the changing nature of cast members’ relationships behind the scenes on the Twilight Saga movies.

“In the beginning, it was innocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family – it was like being at sleep away camp,” says Reed. “And then success comes along and changes the dynamic. We’re not all best friends, and we’re not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done.”

Reed tells Seventeen some of the unraveled relationships on the set were “very sad.”

It seems pretty reasonable.

A huge group of actors and actresses, many of whom were still just kids when the franchise launched, have worked together for years, and in that time there have been friendships made and frayed.

But the New York Post couldn’t resist turning Reed’s remarks into something way more dramatic.

“Cast discord at Breaking Dawn premiere’?” screams the paper’s headline on Tuesday, insinuating that the humans who play the vampires and werewolves were about to throw down on the red carpet.

The Post also interprets Reed’s remarks to mean that some cast members “might even be enemies.”

Let’s get a grip on reality here.

Media outlets usually jump all over celebrities for not speaking honestly about what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood.

In this case, Reed made the mistake of admitting that actors and actresses are human beings whose relationships sometimes ebb and flow, and the Post rewarded her by printing a headline that makes it seem as those the Twilight stars are constantly at each other’s throats.

Not everyone is everyone else’s best friend. That simply isn’t going to happen when a large cast makes five movies together.

But the notion that Reed revealed some kind of vicious secret feuding is just not true.

Gossip Cop can’t blame celebs for being cautious in interviews when their words are likely to be sensationalized like they were here.

The Breaking Dawn actress premiered their duet, “Now That I Found You,” on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio program Monday.

“He’s really supportive and encourages everything,” she says of her “American Idol” alum hubby. “I’m a little more shy. We’ve done some open mic’s together. I probably will end up doing [more music with him].”

Reed and McDonald wed last month.

This is great.

For years, the tabloids have told us that Kristen Stewart is aloof and shows little affection for Robert Pattinson, supposedly not as committed as Pattinson to their relationship.

Then came last week’s hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

“Kristen was all about her man and didn’t care who saw it, including Rob’s parents in the audience!” exclaims Life & Style, referring to the couple’s PDA.

Wow, could the magazine finally be admitting that Stewart and Pattinson are happy and stable?

Of course not!

“Insiders say her motive for getting handsy may be more about marking territory than unbridled passion,” explains the tab.

A so-called “production insider” adds that Stewart “knows she has to keep an eye on Rob because so many women want him.”

But that’s not all!

Supposedly, Stewart is particularly wary of Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene, even though Reed is married now and Greene’s “flirty behavior” with Pattinson on a press junket was pure tabloid fabrication.

Allegedly tense around her female Breaking Dawn co-stars and fearful of every other woman on the planet, Stewart is “desperate to hang on to Rob,” which explains her affectionate behavior, claims Life & Style.

Gotcha.

So when Stewart and Pattinson don’t touch, it’s because they’re a couple in trouble.

And when they do touch, it’s because they’re… a couple in trouble?

Once again, when it comes to satisfying tabloids frothing at the mouth for controversy, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart just can’t win.

Regardless, a source in the know assures Gossip Cop the couple is as happy now as they were “two weeks ago and two months ago — nothing’s changed.”

A so-called “source” for the mag says, “Nikki looks like she’s gained about 10 lbs. and is refusing alcohol,” leading friends to suspect she has a baby on the way.

The couple is also “hunting for a family-friendly home,” notes the tab, and Reed is supposedly “talking about taking a break from acting.”

So, is Reed really expecting?

Nope.

A source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop that Reed is not pregnant, and the mag’s story is “incorrect.”

This week, Life & Style spun the story wheel and landed on “Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Headed For a Split,” so the writers were forced to come up with a slew of bogus arguments to back it.

The results aren’t pretty.

According to the magazine, Pattinson and Stewart are “rarely seen in public together and never affectionate,” and their diverging careers and “increasingly incompatible personalities” mean they’re “on their last legs as a couple.”

But that’s not all!

There’s also the matter of Keira Knightley, who may possibly star with Pattinson in Cosmopolis. That prospect is “terrifying” for Stewart, because she was wooed by Pattinson when they made Twilight together, and “history seems destined – or doomed – to repeat itself with Keira.”

“The idea of [Pattinson and Knightley] getting intimate, even if it’s scripted, drives Kristen wild,” a so-called “pal” explains to Life & Style.

For good measure, the magazine reminds everyone of Pattinson’s alleged past flings with co-stars Nikki Reed (not true) and Emilie de Ravin (not true).

How desperate is Life & Style to prove that Knightley poses a threat to Robsten?

The tabloid refers to reports in Famous magazine that Pattinson and Knightley “have been spending time together bonding.”

That’s interesting. Because just a month ago, that same tab claimed Pattinson and Stewart were engaged!

Even Life & Style isn’t convinced that a split is inevitable because of the supposed Keira Knightley “hurdle,” so the mag keeps wandering, looking for evidence of trouble for Pattinson and Stewart.

“They’re very young and going their separate ways in terms of careers,” argues the magazine’s source. “While Kristen may be on the cover of Vogue, she’s still very much an indie star or supporting-role actress. Meanwhile, Rob is moving at lightning speed.”

Seriously?

Stewart, who’s been offered the role of Snow White and finds herself rumored for other enormous starring roles is too much of a “supporting actress” for Pattinson?

But Life & Style isn’t done.

The tabloid returns to the old narrative about Stewart being a party pooper sourpuss, who “refuse(s) to smile on the red carpet and complains about being unable to go to the mall anymore,” leading Pattinson to question whether the couple is really “compatible.”

Yes, it’s Pattinson’s painful separation from malls that is making him reconsider Stewart.

Looks like Nikki Reed will be staying in Louisiana after she films Breaking Dawn.

It was just announced that Reed and Hayden Panettiere are going to star in a thriller, Downers Grove, that will filmed in the Big Easy.

Basically, the film’s plot revolves around a high school where – because of a curse – every year one senior dies a freakish death before the end of the school year.

Panettiere’s character believes she’s the next victim.

The screenplay was written by “American Psycho” author Bret Easton Ellis, based on the novel by Michael Hornberg.

The film also stars Rebecca De Mornay.

“Eclipse’s Nikki Reed has sparked engagement rumours by stepping out wearing what looks like a wedding band,” reports the UK’s online edition of OK! magazine.

According to the site, “the 22-year-old seemed quite eager to show off the piece of jewellery, proudly displaying it to snappers” as she arrived at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” yesterday.

However, notes OK!, “she removed it for her appearance on the show – prompting us to think maybe she isn’t quite ready to declare all on national TV just yet.”

A rep for the “Eclipse” star confirms to Gossip Cop that Reed is “definitely not engaged.”

Since happiness and good cheer are boring, Us Weekly creates a bizarre alternate reality where Kristen Stewart “tortures” Robert Pattinson.

Confused?

See, Robsten’s “love may be discreet, but their fights sure aren’t,” explains the magazine that once asked its readers to believe that Jennifer Aniston uses Architectural Digest as a weapon against ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Apparently, Stewart and Pattinson “had a spat on set” during Eclipse reshoots, sniping at each other “in full view of cast and crew.”

Uh-huh. Would this be the same “fight” about Pattinson being “late”? The one that never happened?

It’s all part of what the mag describes as a “stormy romance” in which Stewart “snaps” at Pattinson in public and, says a “source,” refuses to see them as “boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Of course, Us Weekly has no way of demonstrating what it claims.

So instead, it illustrates its “torture” theory by mentioning how Stewart and Pattinson arrived at the recent Oprah taping separately and then walked through the airport separately before “ducking into the private American Airlines Admirals Club together.”

Um, kinda sounds like two high-profile people who value their privacy.

Where do we sign up for this “torture”?

Weirdly, the tab seems to be arguing that Kristen Stewart is barely invested in a relationship… she’s desperately trying to hide.

And Kristen Stewart is desperately trying to hide a relationship, how? By feuding loudly in public?

How exactly does Stewart’s alleged “obsession with cloak-and-dagger secrecy,” as the mag calls it, reconcile with her penchant for public brawls?

It doesn’t.

None of this makes sense.

Gossip Cop can confirm exclusively that Nikki Reed will be on the top talk show, too.

We’re told Reed will tape her segment on May 17, and it will air May 18.

Robert Pattinson is set to take another bite out of daytime.

The Eclipse vampire will join Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show in an episode airing Wednesday, May 19, Gossip Cop can confirm. It will be taped the previous day.

It isn’t the first “Ellen” engagement for Pattinson. The star appeared on the program back in November while promoting New Moon. That was the interview in which he described a woman in a public crowd getting naked to get his attention.

Gossip Cop will have more scoops as the June 30 Eclipse release nears.

Before buzz from “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” even died down, chatter about Kristen Stewart‘s upcoming slate of films – including “The Runaways” and “Welcome to the Rileys” – picked up.

Now there are online rumors that “K-11,” directed by Stewart’s mother Jules Mann-Stewart and costarring “Twilight” mate Nikki Reed, might be postponed or lost in the mix. Spurred by initial reports that had filming scheduled for last summer and then for January 2010, fans began to worry that the production had encountered major problems.

A source close to Stewart tells Gossip Cop the film is in development but not shooting in January. It was described to us as happening but not imminent, because several elements still had to come together, including Stewart’s schedule.

“’New Moon’ star Nikki Reed is honeymoon bound,” reports the National Enquirer.

The weekly says, “The gorgeous actress recently said yes to boyfriend Paris Latsis’ marriage proposal – and the two are telling pals they owe their engagement to his ex-girlfriend” Paris Hilton.

Part of that is true – Reed is gorgeous.

As for the other stuff, a so-called “friend” says, “If Paris Hilton hadn’t dumped [Latsis], he and Nikki might have never met.”

Possibly, but while the article claims they “are planning a mid-2010 wedding in Greece,” where the shipping heir’s family is from, it does not provide one single detail about how he popped the question.

Gossip Cop contacted a source close to Reed, who told us it’s “not true” they’re engaged.

As for down the road, it could happen – Latisis was quick to put a ring on it when he dated Hilton.

Los Angeles might be getting the official “New Moon” premiere, but Gossip Cop can confirm New York will host a special screening of the second “Twilight Saga” film before it hits theaters.

Will any people of interest be there? You might say so.

“New Moon” hits theaters in ten days, and its enormous ensemble cast continues to hit the small screen in the days leading up to the highly anticipated November 20 release.

UPDATE 9:00PM:

Gossip Cop can now EXCLUSIVELY confirm eight – count ‘em, EIGHT – new bookings today.

It looks like “The Bonnie Hunt Show” will be having a week chock full of “Twilight” stars:

Michael Sheen will appear on November 30, Kellan Lutz on December 2, Nikki Reed on December 3, and Ashley Greene on December 4.

A source told Gossip Cop that Peter Facinelli is ALSO being booked for Bonnie’s show, although a date is not yet known.

Earlier, Gossip Cop confirmed with insiders at “Rachael Ray” that Nikki Reed will be appearing on November 20 (taping on the 18th), while Peter Facinelli will tape an appearance on November 17 – air date to be determined.

We’ve also learned Kellan Lutz will be on “Ellen” on November 18. It tapes the day before.

The new confirmations are now on the Big Board.

We know better than to trust Fox411 when it comes to “Twilight” reporting (let’s just say they haven’t exactly had the strongest week), but this one really had us scratching our heads.

Buried halfway down the millionth recycled version of a speculative Internet “are they or aren’t they?” story about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart come comments from “an inside source,” who tells the blog an off-screen Robsten romance “caused major friction with fellow Twilighter Nikki Reed, who started dating Pattinson late last year.” The article goes on to…

Wait, wait. Back up. What was that?

That’s right… just before tossing aside “tabloid talk” detailing the over-the-top life Pattinson and Stewart supposedly shared in their hotel suites high above Vancouver (talk, by the way, that Gossip Cop already debunked weeks ago), Fox411 claims that a Robsten relationship cut short one between Pattinson and Reed (“Rokki”?), who “were together” after the first film finished shooting. The site’s “insider” says “sparks” between Pattinson and Stewart led them to end their respective couplings, “So Nikki was the one to get hurt.”

Oh, boy. This is so, so old, and so, so wrong. This summer, Jennie Garth supposedly “outed” a Rob relationship with either Reed or Stewart… except Gossip Cop actually obtained a transcript of her interview and she didn’t.

And Reed herself has never acknowledged a relationship.

Ah, but Fox411 devises a convenient cover – “Nikki was really in love with Rob,” says their source, “but we’re all scared to bring it up now. It’s something we just don’t talk about.”

OK, then! So again we have a relationship that can’t be confirmed because everyone who “knows” about it is too scared.

Can Fox411 come up with a third crazy Pattinson rumor before the week ends? Stay tuned!

We weren’t joking when we said November would bring a ridiculous number of “New Moon” cast appearances to television screens, and now we can confirm yet another.

Today’s “Rachael Ray” had a surprise guest. None other than hunky werewolf Alex Meraz stopped by to chat. However, be patient, “Twilight” fans: the episode won’t air until November 11.

Gossip Cop also hears that Nikki Reed will be a guest soon, but her appearance has yet to be scheduled.

We’ve added Alex’s visit with Rachael to the big board of “New Moon” guest spots.

Today may be Halloween, but millions of “New Moon” fans know the vampires worth watching will haunt the night only after the calendar flips to November. And Gossip Cop just confirmed SIX more television appearances for cast members.

“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” will have Kristen Stewart on November 18, Taylor Lautner on November 19, and Ashley Greene on November 24.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” will have Peter Facinelli on November 25, Nikki Reed on December 2, and Ashley Greene on December 3.

Australian tabs have a special talent for creating “Twilight” controversy where none exists. This week’s Famous takes it up a notch with a piece hitting Kristen Stewart for being “snobby” and “miserable” and becoming an “outcast” on the set of “Eclipse.”

A “source” tells the tab that Stewart is “totally alienated from the rest of the cast,” and “she doesn’t have a friend left on set except for Robert Pattinson.” The rift between the actress and other “Twilighters” is marked by her allegedly “aloof” behavior and “bad moods.” And while the cast used to think Stewart just wanted alone time with Pattinson, an insider now says, “they think she’s become more and more famous,” and has “become arrogant.”

Sources on the set tell Gossip Cop that she’s neither “snobby” nor “arrogant,” and a rep calls the magazine’s claims “fake.”

But Famous doesn’t stop being wrong there. On the next page a piece screams, “Robert and Kristen Tell All!” about their relationship in the December Harper’s Bazaar – a rumor Gossip Cop already exclusively shot down.

If Gossip Cop looks exhausted it’s because we spent the afternoon feeling sick after reading OK! magazine’s cover story.

Three is definitely not the charm for the weekly, which for the third consecutive week delivers an absurd, manipulative “Twilight” cover. Today’s bait-and-switch features a photo of a smiling Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart, with the headline, “Wedding of the Year,” along with the bullet points: “The vintage satin dress and sentimental ring,” Moonlit garden reception at the family home,” “Thousands of roses,” “Best man and bridesmaid,” Spectacular wedding cake,” “Exotic honeymoon.”

(Ooh, we’re getting queasy again.)

Of course, when you turn to the article, it explains that is has “the scoop on the big-screen ceremony, plus what to expect when Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson really tie the knot.”

Then the mag writes, “what’s remarkable about the sizzling relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – aka Twilight’s Edward Cullen and Bella Swan – is that each stage of the twosome’s love story mirrors Stephenie Meyer’s cult vampire saga.” Yes, according to OK!, the  “art-life parallels are downright eerie.”

No, what’s eerie is how often OK! tries to peddle outright nonsense as news.

Nevertheless, the rag says the first book, “Twilight,” is about “unrequited love,” and reports that Pattinson had the hots for Stewart while she was dating Michael Angarano. In “New Moon,“ the couple drifts apart when she’s out of town. OK! claims that happened in real life, too, this summer, when Pattinson and Stewart were on opposite coasts working on different films. In “Eclipse,” Bella and Edward get engaged, and in “Breaking Dawn” they get married and have a child.

Here are a few problems already: The magazine already said they are “engaged,” which they are not! Also, the magazine goes on and on describing what the “Twilight Saga” wedding looks like. But the wedding takes place in “Breaking Dawn,” not “Eclipse,” the installment they are currently shooting. So how is it possible that they have the “scoop on the big-screen ceremony?”

And after OK! describes the film’s traditional and ornate wedding, it says, “As for Rob and Kris, this time they might depart from the script.” How can they? What about all the “art-life parallels [that] are downright eerie?” And how their “love story mirrors” the novels? It’s all hot air, including how Nikki Reed and Dakota Fanning will be Stewart’s bridesmaids for her non-traditional wedding.

OK! Once again, so not OK.

Gossip Cop has some major bad dish to bust — the day’s big story that Jennie Garth spilled the beans about Robert Pattinson dating either Kristen Stewart or Nikki Reed, his “Twilight” co-stars. Either way — it’s still way wrong.

The other blogs, including Perez Hilton, who don’t fact-check, have been buzzing all day about a quote Garth supposedly gave concerning Pattinson to the New York Daily News: “I can’t say [if it’s Stewart or Reed], because that would be breaking my promise to [her husband, “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli], but he is dating one of them!”

So what’s the problem? Garth never actually said that. Gossip Cop knows because we obtained a transcript. The only thing she said was, “That will be breaking my promise to my husband, but I do know.”

Garth’s rep also confirmed that she didn’t leak the highly guarded details about Pattinson’s love life.
