Controversy is brewing in the wake of last night’s “American Idol” season finale – and it has nothing to do with the battle between champ Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

Apparently, there was some behind-the-scenes trouble with last season’s winner, Lee DeWyze.

Nigel Lythgoe, the show’s executive producer, tweeted earlier today, “I was so upset Lee DeWyze wouldn’t present the winners trophy to Scotty. Especially as he’d been on the show this Season. I guess he was shy.”
