“Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update brought together Nicolas Cage and “Nicolas Cage” (Andy Samberg) for a spirited edition of “Get In The Cage!”

Doing his (only somewhat) exaggerated impersonation of the prolific actor, Samberg poked fun at Cage’s movies and larger-than-life persona.

Even more impressively, though, the real Cage was a very good sport about the light mockery, and happily informed the audience: “We’re gonna have a three-way with the Declaration of Independence!”

Nicolas Cage insists he’s not a vampire.

The actor visited “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday, and the host brought up the infamous Civil War-era photo of a man who (kind of) looks like Cage – which has prompted many on the Internet to speculate that Cage is, in fact, an ageless vampire.

(That’s the most logical explanation.)

Cage, however, refused to admit it, protesting, “I don’t drink blood, and last time I looked in the mirror, I had a reflection.”

Hmm…

The Superman comic book stolen from Nicolas Cage eleven years ago is reportedly being sold at auction, and it could fetch an unprecedented $2 million.

Action Comics No. 1, from June 1938, marks the first appearance of the Man of Steel, and well-known fan Cage spent approximately $150,000 for his copy in 1997.

While roughly a hundred copies are thought to exist, only a handful are in quality as pristine as Cage’s.

But the comic was stolen from the actor’s home in January 2000.

It was ultimately discovered in a storage locker last April.

At the time, Cage, who’d been reimbursed by an insurance company, expressed his hope that he could reach a settlement and regain the item.

But an online auction featuring what’s assumed to be the infamous copy is now underway, with the current bid at just over $1.3 million.

The previous record sale for an Action Comics No. 1 was $1.5 million in 2010 – except that copy’s condition wasn’t as good as this one’s.

Bids end on November 30, so be sure to scrape together some cash before then!

Nicolas Cage has faced down scares of all kinds in his movies.

But real life is stranger than fiction.

While talking with reporters at the Toronto film festival about Trespass, his new home invasion film, the actor described a bizarre moment in his own past.

“It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year-old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed,” said Cage.

“I know it sounds funny, but it was horrifying,” he added.

Police arrived, but Cage never pressed charges against the trespasser, whom he believes had mental problems.

The actor did decide he had to move out of the house.

In fairness to the perpetrator, Fudgesicles really do taste better when enjoyed in an Academy Award winner’s bedroom, in the nude.

Vanessa Hudgens is set to star in Frozen Ground, a serial killer thriller based on the true story of a man who hunted and murdered women in the Alaskan wilderness.

John Cusack will play Robert Hansen, who abducted approximately two dozen women in the 1980s, flying them to remote locations before stalking them in the forest.

Hudgens is due to portray a would-be victim who escapes and works with a state trooper (Nicolas Cage) to bring down Hansen.

The casting was first reported by Deadline.

It’s obviously a big departure for the High School Musical actress – Would you go see it?

Weston Cage just dropped a double bombshell on Facebook, claiming his wife Nikki Williams is pregnant — and that he’s filing for divorce.

Cage, who only just married Williams in April, posted, “Made my choice. Getting divorced.”

Nicolas Cage‘s troubled son said his wife was pregnant while addressing his July 4 arrest for felony domestic violence on Facebook. He wrote, “Never hit my wife. why would i start abusing after she was positive after taking a pregnant-c test.”

Cage and Williams reportedly got into a wild fight in their home a couple of days ago, with both parties allegedly becoming violent with one another.

The actor’s son recently left rehab following a bizarre violent episode with his trainer in June. His wife was also just in treatment.

Weston Cage and his wife Nikki Williams have reportedly been arrested on felony domestic violence charges.

The couple supposedly had a wild fight in their home this morning, with Williams allegedly cutting Cage with a bottle and punching him, according to TMZ.

It’s believed he was also violent.

They are still in custody.

Cage, son of Nicolas Cage, just exited rehab following a bizarre violent episode with his trainer in June. Williams was also recently in treatment.

Weston Cage, Nicolas Cage‘s son, was reportedly taken by to a hospital for mental evaluation and potential psychiatric hold after allegedly becoming violent with his trainer at a Hollywood restaurant.

The younger Cage is said to have become agitated after being told he couldn’t have something on The Farmer’s Kitchen’s menu, according to TMZ.

Cops were called to the scene when Cage refused to calm down, allegedly pushing and at one point attempting to kick his trainer. At one point, they reportedly threatened to tase Cage.

He was eventually taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

It’s not been confirmed whether he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

Nicolas Cage will NOT be criminally charged after allegedly attacking his wife last month during a drunken disturbance in New Orleans.

The District Attorney’s Office has concluded that there was insufficient evidence to pursue a case against the Oscar winner.

He was taken into custody on April 16 after a public argument brought police. Cage challenged the cops to arrest him, which they did, booking him on one count of domestic abuse and one count of disturbing the peace.

Later that day, Duane Chapman of “Dog the Bounty Hunter” fame posted Cage’s $11,000 bail, leading to his release.

Nicolas Cage got released from jail earlier today, thanks to Duane “Dog” Chapman and his wife Beth of “Dog: The Bounty Hunter” fame.

The stars of the A&E reality show posted Cage’s $11,000 bond after the actor was arrested this morning in New Orleans for domestic abuse.

When the Chapmans are not chasing down people who jump bond, they actually run their own bail bond company from their home base of Hawaii.

Beth Chapman tweeted afterwards, “My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that’s a lot of time toProcess one guy.”

And she also noted, “we write nation wide Bail Bond” and can get “anyone out in any state from right here in Hawaii.”

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Cage was picked up this morning at around 6:30 a.m. after drunkenly arguing with his wife.

The Jeff Bridges-Matt Damon western earned $15 million to edge Ben Stiller‘s Little Fockers, which took in about $13.5 million to finish in second place.

New release Season of the Witch (starring Nicolas Cage) racked up approximately $10.5 million in receipts, good enough for #3 on the chart.

Tron: Legacy keeps holding strong, earning a $9.8 million for fourth place, while Oscar contender Black Swan danced into 5th with $8.3 million.

Country Strong with Gwyneth Paltrow limped into 6th place with about $7 million.

The Fighter ($7 million), The King’s Speech ($6.8 million), Yogi Bear ($6.8 million) and Tangled ($5.2 million) look like they’ll round out the Top 10.

Nicolas Cage is known for his intensity on the silver screen.

Apparently, it isn’t acting.

While in Romania to shoot Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Cage got into an argument with a friend outside a club – and became a bit animated.

Among other things, Cage can be heard yelling, “I thought we were brothers, man!” and “I’ll die in the name of honor!”

Thomas Jane and Patricia Arquette have split again.

The “Hung” star and “Medium” actress, who separated last year before reconciling, have elected to pursue a divorce.

Arquette originally filed for divorce in 2009 before reuniting with Jane.

“The split is completely amicable and their prime focus is their daughter,” says a rep for Jane. “They ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

The couple had a daughter in 2003 and married in 2006.

Arquette was previously married to Nicolas Cage and Jane to Ayesha Hauer.

America was not afraid to have its mind blown.

The dream-based, consciousness-warping Leonardo DiCaprio movie Inception, directed by The Dark Knight‘s Christopher Nolan, topped the weekend box office with $60.4 million.

Despicable Me remained strong, coming in second with $32.7 million.

The week’s other big release, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, is having less success. The Nicolas Cage fantasy film is on pace for a mere $17.3 million weekend and a third place finish.

And The Twilight Saga: Eclipse brought in an estimated $13.5 million to round out the fourth position.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse passed the quarter-billion dollar mark (domestic box office) on Thursday. Currently, the film domestically has earned $264.9 million.

Again, all figures are estimates.

A couple of week ago the National Enquirer ran a headline that read, “Johnny Depp Sails to Rescue of Pal Nic Cage,” and went on to say that when “The Pirates of the Caribbean” star had learned of Nicolas Cage’s financial troubles, “Johnny called Nic and basically told him, ‘Look, don’t worry. I’ll help you. You just let me know, all right?’”

At the time, Gossip Cop was told by Cage’s rep that the story was “not true.” Oh don’t worry — it’s still not true.

But now comes word – also via the Enquirer – that George Clooney is “meeting with Nic and told him he would help him any way he can, including movie projects.”

Not only is this offer similarly gracious, but it is also not true.

Clooney’s rep tells Gossip Cop, “George has met Nicolas Cage once in his life, and that was three or four years ago at the Venice Film Festival.”

We’re looking forward to next week when the Enquirer has Cage being offered help from either Robert Pattinson or Carrot Top.

“Johnny Depp Sails to Rescue of Pal Nic Cage,” reads the headline of a National Enquirer story.

The article goes on to say that when Depp learned of Nicolas Cage’s financial troubles, he “offered to give him ‘whatever he needs’ to take care of his cash-flow woes,” says a “friend” of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.

The alleged “friend” similarly claims, “Johnny called Nic and basically told him, ‘Look, don’t worry. I’ll help you. You just let me know, all right?’”

Cage, the tab notes, refused the offer.

So why would Depp even do this?

The supermarket rag says that when Depp was a struggling musician it was Cage who convinced him to become an actor. “Johnny has always felt he owes a great debt to Nic, and now he’s ready to repay it,” says the so-called “source.”

What a touching story. What a sign of friendship. What a load of garbage.

Yes, the two have remained friends, but Cage’s rep told Gossip Cop that the Enquirer’s story is “not true.”
