The National Enquirer claims Jessica Simpson is “furious” about her ex Nick Lachey’s elaborate island wedding to Vanessa Minnillo, which the couple was able to score for free because it will be televised as a TLC special.

With her own marriage to Eric Johnson coming up soon, Simpson “is livid that her ex upstaged her and now plans to throw a multimillion-dollar televised wedding at an even more fabulous location,” according to the Enquirer’s “sources.”

Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey were married at an undisclosed island location today.

“For us, this is just a stepping stone to do what we ultimately want and that’s to start a family together,” Minnillo said to People.

The tropical setting was a surprise for the 35 friends and family in attendance.

“Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket,” explained Lachey. “We told them they were going away and the attire was ‘island chic.’ It was all very vague.”

Among the issues troubling Simpson before her big day, says the mag, are that she’s not nearly as skinny as her ex-husband Nick Lachey’s fiancee Vanessa Minnillo, and that she and Johnson “couldn’t agree on a venue” to hold the wedding. For real?
