The 20-year-old beauty queen beat out 88 other contestants, including first runner-up Janine Tugonon of the Philippines, to win the highly-coveted title.

Leila Lopes of Angola was crowned Miss Universe on Monday night.

The 25-year-old Lopes is the first Miss Universe from Angola. She beat out contestants from 88 other countries to win the title on the pageant’s 60th anniversary.

Bret Michaels will co-host the Miss Universe Pageant with news personality Natalie Morales, it was announced on Tuesday.

The ceremony, featuring genetically fortunate contestants from more than 80 nations, airs live from Las Vegas on August 23 on NBC, where Morales reports for “Today” and Michaels recently won pageant co-owner Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”
