Shia LaBeouf‘s difficulties with Transformers: Dark of the Moon director Michael Bay might not be as dramatic as former co-star Megan Fox‘s, but he agrees that Bay can be a tough boss.

On “The Late Show with David Letterman,” LaBeouf told the host about the director’s aggressive, “in your face” approach to work.

It turns out one of their most heated exchanges on set involved… a song by Feist.

Steven Spielberg directed Michael Bay to fire Megan Fox from the Transformers franchise after she compared Bay to Hitler in a magazine interview, a new book reveals.

In an excerpt from “Blow-Up: An Oral History of the Most Explosive Director of All Time” published in GQ, Bay says Fox’s comment to British publication Wonderland that he “wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is” was the final straw.

“She was in a different world [during rehearsals for Transformers: Dark of the Moon], on her BlackBerry,” recalls Bay. “You gotta stay focused.”

“And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven said, ‘Fire her right now.’”

According to co-star Shia LaBeouf, Fox crossed the line.

“Criticism is one thing. Then there’s public name-calling, which turns into high school bashing. Which you can’t do,” says LaBeouf in the book. “She started sh*t-talking our captain.”

Bay claims it was all business, not personal.

“I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan,” says the director. “Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in kind of the wrong way.”

“I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley replaced Fox in the new sequel and earns praise from LaBeouf, Bay and producers in the book.

Fox declined to comment for the story.

Shia LaBeouf is quitting the Transformers franchise.

After starring in the first three films, he says, ”I’m not coming back to do another one. I don’t think [director Michael Bay] will either. It still is a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they’ll reboot it at some point with someone else.”

And even though he’s leaving Transformers behind, LaBeouf says, “I’ll go see it opening night, I’ll be there [for the fourth film].”

He acknowledges there will be “a disconnect” watching someone else play his character, and jokes, “It’s mine, dude. It’s mine.”

Still, LaBeouf is happy he’s going out on a high note.

He tells MTV News, “This is the best movie we’ve made, I’m serious. It’s not a joke. I’m dead honest, man. I get myself in trouble all the time, but this is our best installment. It’s our best movie.”

Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit theaters on July 1.

It’s been easy for Kellan Lutz to get noticed by young women everywhere, but now a teenage girl’s won his attention — for all the wrong reasons.

Today the Twilight actor tweeted his outrage with the Bosnian girl captured on video tossing puppies into a river.

“I’ve never been so disgusted before,” writes Lutz. “That video is so incredibly disturbing and plain out wrong.”

The infamous clip, which horrified viewers worldwide before being pulled from YouTube, shows a blonde girl in a red sweatshirt taking black and white puppies from a bucket and hurling them, one after the other, into the water.

“That cruelty and any cruelty to animals helpless or not is unacceptable,” continues Lutz. “I can’t get the crying puppies out of my head.”

Reportedly, the girl has been identified and now will face local authorities. Bosnia recently passed new animal protection laws that spell out hefty fines for cruel treatment.

Lutz, who has done work in the past with animal rights group PETA, later tweeted his appreciation that police believe they’ve caught the perpetrator.

“I’m so grateful that she has been found and even more grateful for the new law! Thank you ALL for taking a stand and using your voices against such actions as this,” tweeted Lutz.

He was not the only Hollywood figure to be revolted by the video.

Earlier this week, before reports emerged that she’d been apprehended, Transformers director Michael Bay offered a $50,000 reward for information on the puppy thrower.

A number of outlets, including Perez Hilton, have picked up a story about Transformers director Michael Bay being sued after his “bodyguard” allegedly pistol whipped two nightclub patrons.

Joshua Stewart and Paul Kimczak have accused the bodyguard of knocking them out with a gun during an August 2008 altercation at Kiss in Hollywood. They’ve now sued Bay, whom they claim should have had “control” over the accused assailant.

Hilton happily repeats their allegations, even taking the time to scold Bay.

The director “needs to explain to his body guard that real life isn’t like Transformers, and that he can’t just go around pistol-whipping people willy nilly!” chirps the blogger.

Well, no one’s more “willy nilly” than Hilton himself, who doesn’t even bother to dig into whether the incident involved Bay at all.

According to Bay’s attorney, Marty Singer, the entire lawsuit is “ridiculous.”

Singer tells Gossip Cop that Bay “did not have a security guard that night — or any other night.”

Nor was Bay even at the club Kiss on the night in question.

“He had dinner with six other couples at a restaurant nearby,” says Singer.

As a sign of how “absurd” and “specious” the alleged victims’ claims are, Singer notes that they waited approximately two years to file the lawsuit.

Maybe Hilton and other outlets would seem less “absurd” themselves if they bothered to check.

Paramount will NOT pick up Megan Fox‘s option for Transformers 3, Gossip Cop can confirm, meaning she’ll be out of the blockbuster franchise that made her an international sex symbol.

And while her rep tried to transform the order of events by stating, “It was her decision not to return,” a Paramount spokesperson assures Gossip Cop that, on the contrary, ”Her option has not been picked up.”

The team behind the next installment is readying a script that gives star Shia Labeouf a new love interest.

Fox and the films’ director, Michael Bay, shared an intermittently antagonistic working relationship.

A new rumor claims Megan Fox faces the “distinct possibility” of a “gory death scene” in a third “Transformers” movie, thanks to her outspoken comments about how difficult she found working for director Michael Bay.

Perez Hilton and others are picking up an In Touch report that says Fox’s character might be killed off early in the next sequel and swapped with a new female lead. Supposedly, according to the magazine’s “source,” Bay is “very quietly looking for her replacement.” 

Very quietly. So quiet, in fact, no one can confirm it’s actually happening. And you know why? Because a rep for Fox tells Gossip Cop the story is “not true.”

Hilton concluded his inaccurate regurgitation by saying, “You dug your own grave on that one, Foxy.”

If there’s one thing Perez doesn’t know, it’s how to dig.
