Showbiz Spy, which once placed a photo bounty on Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, tried to convince everyone four months ago that the two are “arguing endlessly,” and then insisted Pattinson was distancing himself from Stewart after her controversial paparazzi remarks, is at it again.

Reality proved otherwise.

Now the site picks up an unspecified “UK magazine” report that claims Stewart has turned to ex Michael Angarano to discuss her “relationship woes.”

“Michael’s the one person who Kristen knows will make her laugh when she’s down,” says one “insider.” Stewart’s allegedly “been calling him a lot,” and the conversations have made her realize “relationships are meant to be fun.”

Apparently, Stewart is “furious” after Pattinson revealed that he didn’t consider her his “soulmate,” a peculiar fantasy recently cooked up by — you guessed it! —  an unnamed “British magazine.” Stewart believed she and Pattinson “were heading for marriage,” but in the past few weeks “it seems like everything has started to go wrong.”

Where did it all start going wrong for Showbiz Spy and the tabloids it uses to “report”?

After all, it used to be that Pattinson and Stewart (allegedly) appeared in the same area code only for “promotional” reasons. Wouldn’t it stand to reason, then, that a couple said to be on the rocks wouldn’t have two date nights the week after their movie premieres? Especially with Stewart so “furious”?

Maybe dinners, movies and concerts aren’t “meant to be fun,” or at least not as much “fun” as the heart-wrenching talks Stewart and Angarano supposedly have.

The only one taking the “fun” out of Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship is… Showbiz Spy.

The only thing more exhausting than the tabloids’ atrocious coverage of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is their habit of throwing together so much garbage, it takes multiple reads just to untangle it.

Life & Style has a “world exclusive” today: Pattinson “dumped” Stewart.

The tabloid, of course, is embarrassingly out of step when it comes to the two Twilight-ers.

In the past the mag claimed there was a massive conspiracy to keep possible a romance between them “under wraps” until fall 2010, when Breaking Dawn begins production… and then it negated its own theory by insisting Stewart’s attendance at Pattinson’s Remember Me premiere was a grand “public” declaration of a relationship.

The whiplash didn’t end there. Life & Style revised its interpretation of the premiere, insisting that Stewart was there instead to “send a message” to Pattinson’s co-star, Emilie de Ravin.

But its cover story today is a true work of art.

“Finally Rob’s Fed Up With Miserable Kristen,” screams the cover that alleges she’s been “dumped!”

The first bit of “evidence” is that Pattinson “let slip” on “The Today Show” his thwarted desire to go on a regular date given intense paparazzi scrutiny. Then the mag quotes an “insider” who claims Pattinson called it quits with Stewart in England, declaring them “done.”

In the very next paragraph, a different “insider” says, “Rob and Kristen are together mostly — but it’s not exclusive.”

So are they “done” or “together mostly”? Because those two things are kind of opposites.

“The real-life romance [of Pattinson and Stewart] has been staked through the heart,” begins the Life & Style piece. But according to the tab’s own “insider,” who revealed the supposed British breakup, “When he meets up with her they start flirting again and get caught up in all the romance.”

So was the romance “staked through the heart,” or are Pattinson and Stewart “caught up in all the romance”? Because those two things are kind of opposites.

Pattinson is looking but feels he “hasn’t found his soul mate,” explains Life & Style. But the tab’s own second “insider” says, “I guarantee you this guy looks at other girls, calls them, texts them and hooks up.”

So is Pattinson searching for a soul mate or hooking up with random women? Because those two things are kind of opposites.

The weirdness of Life & Style‘s article continues: Stewart is supposedly “having second thoughts” about breaking up with one-time boyfriend Michael Angarano, who the magazine’s conspiracy theorists believe is “hoping for a run-in with his ex,” because he supposedly crashed Katy Perry‘s MTV Movie Awards afterparty.

Stewart wasn’t there, but “tellingly,” according to a so-called eyewitness, Angarano stayed for only half an hour, “appeared out of place and didn’t seem to be enjoying the party.”

Take a moment to consider how desperate Life & Style is.

Because Michael Angarano reportedly stayed for only a bit at a Katy Perry party that Kristen Stewart didn’t even attend, Life & Style claims it shows that he has a weird wish to torment Stewart… which supposedly reveals that Stewart is hung up on Angarano… which contributed to Pattinson’s decision to “dump” Stewart… even though once you read past its sensational headlines, Life & Style doesn’t even have the courage to conclude that Stewart has been dumped.

Confused?

So is Life & Style.

Once upon a time, the tab’s articles contradicted each other from one week to the next.

Now the articles contradict themselves within two pages.

Some outlets are still angling for Gossip Cop end-of-the-year dishonors. Maybe they should just resolve to sit out for a while.

Your (ahem) “trusted” source for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart news, Entertainment & Showbiz, has decided this morning to clear up their relationship status once and for all.

According to the site, Pattinson and Stewart “are no longer dating each other.”

Huh?

That’s right. “Even if you come across photos of them together and hear the news of Kristen visiting Robert,” the site warns, do not be “misled.” The two actors “are just friends.” How does E&S know? Well, when Stewart dated Michael Angarano, she “never hid her affair,” but the actress “has not opened up about her relationship with Robert Pattinson.”

Let’s follow the “logic” here. Stewart once had a boyfriend and spoke openly about him, so her reluctance to address her relationship with Pattinson (after two years of life-altering fame and predatory media frenzy) means there isn’t one?

Here are the facts. The “Twilight” stars welcomed the New Year together on the Isle of Wight off the southern coast of England. They posed for photos with a fan outside a grocery store in the island’s seaside town of Ventnor.

And here’s Gossip Cop‘s take. A site that asks you to ignore what evidence does exist while supporting its own theories with baffling logic… is probably more wrong than Wight.

As “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” continues to pile up box office receipts, Gossip Cop is looking at the only thing that’s spun more often than theater turnstiles – ridiculous gossip about the production and its stars.

Yesterday we served up 10 of our favorite Robert Pattinson rumors gone awry, and today we look back at an eventful few months for Kristen Stewart – although not nearly as eventful as the tabloids would have you believe. We’ve already touched on her supposed “Tweeting” and estrangement from castmates (uh huh), but here are ten “new” old rumors we just can’t forget:

Whatever their relationship is, there was no “realty reality” when it came to reports of L.A. love nesting.

Swift Response:

Wow, the week started off with a bang, thanks to Kanye West and his ridiculously rude interruption of Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards. You’ll recall his outburst: “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you . . . but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” leaving Swift speechless and the audience stunned. Well, Gossip Cop found out that he was then tossed, and security was notified not to let him return.

Gossip Cop was way ahead of the curve, reporting that Kanye was still going to perform on the first episode of “The Jay Leno Show,” along with Jay-Z and Rihanna, despite the controversy – and that he was also going to be a last-minute guest. We also had footage of Kanye escaping from New York to California for his Leno appearance. The next day Swift was a guest on “The View,” where she recapped what was going through her mind during the incident. “I think my overall thought process was something like, ‘Wow I can’t believe I won. This is awesome. Don’t trip and fall. I’m going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool—oh, Kanye West is here,” she said, adding, “Kanye West is here, cool haircut, what are you doing there? And then ouch, and then I guess I’m not going to get to thank the fans.” At the time of the morning gabfest, Swift said she hadn’t heard from Kayne, but right after the telecast, he made amends and “The View” released a statement saying, “[Kanye] spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer. She has accepted Mr. West’s apology.”

Later there was a report that Kanye was possibly suicidal, but that wasn’t true. What is true is that Kanye should steer clear of Pink. The outspoken singer, who tweeted after the VMAs that Kanye is the “biggest piece of [expletive] on earth,” didn’t let go. A couple of days later, while performing in Seattle, she told the audience that she carried a purse with brass knuckles and described the damage she’d have done to Kanye had he tried a similar stunt with her. To quote Swift, “ouch.”

“Sex” Encounters:

There were plenty of “Sex” tapes – and talk. Some of it wrong. A slew of outlets reported that Chris Noth, aka Mr. Big, was engaged. But Noth told Gossip Cop it was “not true.” He later texted us again to say OK! “made up a completely bogus” piece about him. “I have not said I am engaged. Until I do it’s all BS.” (While OK! corrected its error, not surprisingly Perez Hilton later published the original, inaccurate report.) Don’t be surprised, however, if Noth does get engaged in the not too distant future.

We also played Kim Cattrall’s “Sex” encounters on video. OK, it’s not that tawdry but we had great footage of Cattrall signing autographs and posing for pictures with loads of fans in New York, and footage of Sarah Jessica Parker and Cattrall – in a tongue-wagging costume – causing an eruption of excitement among fans and photographers.

Relationship Wrongs:

There were reports that Mischa Barton was dating an aspiring actor named Leo Wyndham for more than a month, but it’s not true that she’s sharing her “Beautiful Life” with him.

The British edition of OK! tried to insinuate that it was Sienna Miller time for Josh Hartnett after the two ran into each in a New York lounge. Somehow the two running into each other and kissing one another hello was turned into them “getting close,” “cosying,” and “canoodling.” The truth, though, is the two are just friends – and that’s it!

In what seems like a desperate attempt to cover their tracks after having incorrectly reported last week that Jessica Simpson was secretly hooking up with John Mayer, this week the tab is beginning to distancing itself from that story – and provide an out – with a pieced called, “John Betrays Jessica Already.” Regardless, both pieces are wrong, since Simpson’s rep told Gossip Cop that the two haven’t seen each other in some time.

Usually we don’t even waste our time with nonsense in the Globe, but there was a story so mean and inaccurate – “Travolta Divorce Shocker!” – that we had to deal with it. The story claimed, “John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s marriage has been so battered in the wake of their beloved son Jett’s tragic death, friends fear they’re headed for divorce!” Well, Travolta’s rep came out swinging, calling the hatchet piece, “100 percent false” and “a very hurtful lie.”

Toward the end of the week was a National Enquirer story titled “‘Braveheart’ & Cold Feet,” alleging that Mel Gibson is having second thoughts about marrying pregnant girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. We found it odd since we didn’t know there were any marriage plans, and his rep also said he had “never even heard of impending nuptials,” let alone his supposed second thoughts.

Berry Clear:

Halle Berry set the record straight this week when she appeared on “The Jay Leno Show.” After the talk show host asked, “How do you always look so good… you always look terrific,” she thanked him and replied that it “must mean all these pregnancies rumors can be, like, put to bed.” The Oscar winner went on to say she was getting a “complex” from all the pregnancy talk, adding that she had begun to think, “I gotta stop with all the burgers or something.” You would have thought that would have ended the pregnancies rumors, but no. Perez Hilton blogged the next day: “Not so fast, Miz Berry. We’re not convinced.” And where’s Fidel buried, Perez?

Daisy Dog:

Shortly after Jessica Simpson’s dog was snatched by a coyote, the star’s rep gave Gossip Cop some heart-wrenching details about how the family “saw it happen” and “tried to go after, but the coyote took [Daisy] and went.” Incredibly, the next day, there were a number of outlets that were not only unsympathetic but also insensitive – and inaccurate, especially when reporting that Simpson contacted dog-finding service FindToto.com to help locate Daisy. “Jessica Calls in Experts to Aid Dog Search,” said TMZ, and Perez Hilton picked up the story and mocked, “Simpleton Calls in Doggy Experts!” In reality, it was the company that called her and offered their services.

And then there was “Daisy-gate.” Janet Charlton’s Hollywood claimed that Daisy was taken six days earlier than reported, when in the care of Tina Simpson, while Jessica was still out of town working on her new reality show. But instead of people blaming her mom, Charlton said, “although Jessica is beyond heartbroken, she is covering up for her mother.” We’re waiting for next week’s angle about how aliens abducted Daisy.

Miscellaneous Mistakes:

Although Perez Hilton has learned how to cut-and-paste, he still doesn’t know how to read. In an article from the Telegraph that he lifted, it stated that Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe were going to be in the Guinness World Records book for being the “highest grossing lead actors of the decade.” But instead of realizing that Radcliffe’s films earned an average of $558 million and Watson’s movies averaged out to $753 million, “Scoop” Hilton reported that they – the actors – earned that amount of money. Nice try.

Then there was that odd Star story that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne “wear each other’s things all the time” because “Ozzy gets so confused about which clothes are whose, [so] he ends up just putting on the first thing he grabs,” including Sharon’s jackets. Simply, that story just didn’t fit right.

The Star’s sister publication National Enquirer didn’t fare too well either. In a piece about Ellen DeGeneres titled, “‘Idol’ Threat,” the supermarket tab mistakenly claimed “Ellen doesn’t want the seat in the middle,” but rather the talk show host “wants to be the last judge to offer an opinion so her words will be the final thing ‘Idol’ fans hear on contestants.” Simon Cowell is not giving up his perch nor, as the rag wrongly reported, is “she’s planning to make ‘Idol’ a “kinder, gentler show.”

OK! had a superbadly reported story that said Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz are feuding on the set of “The Green Hornet.” The mag claimed, “There have been occasions where he’s flown off the handle for no reason, leading her to storm off set.” His rep told Gossip Cop that there was “not one iota of truth” to the story.

And the U.K. version of OK! wasn’t that OK either with its story that reported, “Madonna will perform a duet with Janet Jackson as a tribute to Michael Jackson… after bonding over dinner after Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.” After hearing that rumor Cop stepped in. There’s no duet scheduled, and Madonna’s rep told Gossip Cop, “They did not meet at or after [the] VMAs.”

Then there was that vacant Lindsay Lohan rumor that she was kicked out of New York’s Bowery Hotel after a fight with Samantha Ronson. According to Hollyscoop, while in a fight with Ronson, Lohan allegedly “threw a room-service tray at what she thought was her girlfriend’s door.” Must have been a pretty long throw because, at the time of the supposed incident, Lohan was in Austin, TX, working on her movie “Machete,” and Ronson was in L.A. Oops.

Weekly Wins:

Among the “wins” for Gossip Cop this week was the exclusive that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were given a private tour of the White with their kids Emme and Max, and that while mom and dad spoke to the president inside the Oval Office, Max ran wild around the White House. Later that day the couple went to Capitol Hill, where they discussed education with the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.  And that evening they saw the president again at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s annual awards gala, where backstage before Barack Obama spoke, he led senators and members of congress in singing “Happy Birthday” to Anthony, who was honored at the event with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Gossip Gop was spittin’ mad this week when a site posted “upskirt” shots of Taylor Momsen while on the set of “Gossip Girl.” Taylor is just 16-years-old, a minor, and those paparazzi, who focused their lenses to get an “upskirt” of a minor, should be ashamed of themselves. We can proudly report that after we singled out a particular site for its offensive photos – and sent an accompanying letter urging it to remove the photos because they are invasive and inappropriate – the blog took down the pictures.

‘Twilight’ Highlights:

The week began with a ludicrous story by the Aussie mag NW, which claimed that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart gave an unnamed U.S. magazine a joint interview about their “steamy relationship.” Among the topics covered: the “shock love triangle” that nearly tore them apart, their “intense sexual chemistry,” and the truth about their marriage plans.  None of it is true other than the fact that they have sat down for interviews to coincide with the release of “Eclipse.” Then we cleared up a little confusion about a showing of “New Moon” in Knoxville, TN on November 17 – three days before the highly anticipated movie opens nationwide. It’s a special, charity screening and just Stewart and Taylor Lautner are slated to attend – no Pattinson.

OK!, for the third week in a row, had a ridiculous “Twilight” tall tale. This week’s cover featured a photo of Pattinson and Stewart with the headline, “Wedding of the Year,” and promised inside to have the “the scoop on the big-screen ceremony, plus what to expect when Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson really tie the knot.” Besides the fact that they are not engaged in real-life, as OK! had previously claimed, the article went on and on describing what the “Twilight Saga” wedding looks like. But the wedding takes place in “Breaking Dawn,” not “Eclipse,” the installment they are currently shooting. So how is it possible that they have the “scoop on the big-screen ceremony?” Wrong again.

Fortunately all these false reports haven’t affected ticket sales. In fact, today is EXACTLY TWO MONTHS before the release of “New Moon,” and not only are online sales brisk, but the L.A. Times reported that the film “is selling out screenings earlier than any other movie to date.”

And then the tweet heard ’round the world. Tweeting on Peter Facinelli’s account, Robert Pattinson typed, “Hi, it’s Rob … My first and last tweet. My dad made me do it.” Shortly after that, Facinelli, through his rep, told Gossip Cop EXCLUSIVELY that Rob “relishes his privacy, but we’re hanging out and he wanted to say hi to the fans.”

On a final note, this week we lost Patrick Swayze, star of such films as “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost.” Swayze, who battled pancreatic cancer, was 57. Gossip Cop remembers Swayze as a guy who, while in the midst of opening his New York restaurant Mulholland Drive Café back in 1990, was gracious and kind to this one-time cub reporter – and throughout the years. He will be greatly missed.

If Gossip Cop looks exhausted it’s because we spent the afternoon feeling sick after reading OK! magazine’s cover story.

Three is definitely not the charm for the weekly, which for the third consecutive week delivers an absurd, manipulative “Twilight” cover. Today’s bait-and-switch features a photo of a smiling Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart, with the headline, “Wedding of the Year,” along with the bullet points: “The vintage satin dress and sentimental ring,” Moonlit garden reception at the family home,” “Thousands of roses,” “Best man and bridesmaid,” Spectacular wedding cake,” “Exotic honeymoon.”

(Ooh, we’re getting queasy again.)

Of course, when you turn to the article, it explains that is has “the scoop on the big-screen ceremony, plus what to expect when Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson really tie the knot.”

Then the mag writes, “what’s remarkable about the sizzling relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – aka Twilight’s Edward Cullen and Bella Swan – is that each stage of the twosome’s love story mirrors Stephenie Meyer’s cult vampire saga.” Yes, according to OK!, the  “art-life parallels are downright eerie.”

No, what’s eerie is how often OK! tries to peddle outright nonsense as news.

Nevertheless, the rag says the first book, “Twilight,” is about “unrequited love,” and reports that Pattinson had the hots for Stewart while she was dating Michael Angarano. In “New Moon,“ the couple drifts apart when she’s out of town. OK! claims that happened in real life, too, this summer, when Pattinson and Stewart were on opposite coasts working on different films. In “Eclipse,” Bella and Edward get engaged, and in “Breaking Dawn” they get married and have a child.

Here are a few problems already: The magazine already said they are “engaged,” which they are not! Also, the magazine goes on and on describing what the “Twilight Saga” wedding looks like. But the wedding takes place in “Breaking Dawn,” not “Eclipse,” the installment they are currently shooting. So how is it possible that they have the “scoop on the big-screen ceremony?”

And after OK! describes the film’s traditional and ornate wedding, it says, “As for Rob and Kris, this time they might depart from the script.” How can they? What about all the “art-life parallels [that] are downright eerie?” And how their “love story mirrors” the novels? It’s all hot air, including how Nikki Reed and Dakota Fanning will be Stewart’s bridesmaids for her non-traditional wedding.

OK! Once again, so not OK.

Just because Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spend time together, it doesn’t mean the weeklies can now conjure up all sorts of stories about them, like OK! saying they’re engaged (not!) or that Pattinson “whisked [Stewart] off on a romantic, ultra-under-the-radar weekend stay on an idyllic island off Canada’s coast on Aug 29,” which the Star is claiming.

According to this week’s print edition of the tabloid, Robsten “holed up” at the Fairview Farm Bed and Breakfast on Mayne Island. A “source” said, “They didn’t really look up or say hello to people or anything. It was a little awkward because it’s a really small hotel. They wore baseball caps and sunglasses the whole time. A few fans realized that it was Rob and Kristen, but most people just thought they were weirdos!”

Well, how many fans really could have recognized them, considering it’s a two-bedroom hotel – and they presumably would have occupied one of those rooms?

Here’s what Gossip Cop knows: By several accounts, Stewart was in Vancouver that weekend (and not with Michael Angarano, a rumor we busted back then). We also know that no one has any photos of Stewart and Pattinson on Mayne Island. Additionally, when Gossip Cop called the b&b, no one confirmed that they stayed there.

As far as Gossip Cop can tell, it’s a good story, but that’s all – just a story.

On this long Labor Day Weekend, Gossip Cop looks back, in a two-part series, at the Week in Review:

Part 1

Two months after passing away, Michael Jackson was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Jackson’s three children – Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket – placed a crown atop his casket, and his five brothers carried it to the marble mausoleum where he was buried. In addition to Gladys Knight performing the hymn “Our Father” (The Lord’s Prayer), a number of famous friends paid their respective to the King of Pop in a private service. Among those attending were longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor, Jackon’s ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Tucker, Barry Bonds, Quincy Jones, Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, Mila Kunis, and Macaulay Culkin.

On the subject of Culkin and Jackson, The Sun claimed Jackson’s legacy would live on, thanks to the “Home Alone” star who the tab fingered as the sperm donor for Blanket. Gossip Cop busted that rumor, and the other high-flying donor report that a Jackson sperm sample, given a year ago to an L.A. clinic, was being jetted to England for safety. The alleged fear was that “sinister” forces would get their hands on his semen and use it to create another heir. The story, of course, was full of hot heir.

There were plenty of “Twilight” tales this week as well. In addition to old quotes from Kristen Stewart being resurrected to appear as new, there was also the rumor that Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato would star as the vampire Tanya in “Eclipse.” Not only did the filmmakers have no idea who Lopilato is when we contacted them, but the character of Tanya isn’t even in “Eclipse.” Similarly, there was casting confusion when it came to Robert Pattinson. Reports had him set to star in “Vauxhall Crossed,” a film being directed by a stuntman who worked with the handsome British star on two “Harry Potter” films. Gossip Cop was told by Pattinson’s rep that he’s not making that movie.

And the Web went wild when Splash News reported that it had a source who spotted Stewart with her ex-boyfriend Michael Angarano in Vancouver. No pictures, no proof, no truth to that ex-sighting story.

Another person whose picture will be hard to find is Pattinson. A reliable production source told Gossip Cop: “He’s a prisoner of the paparazzi.” “It’s a nightmare,” added the source, explaining that Pattinson almost never leaves the hotel except to go to the set. And when he does, the crew has to go great lengths to find ways to transport him from one location to another undetected.

At the end of the week, we experienced déjà vu when we read quotes in the British magazine Now that had Pattinson saying, “You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens.” Sound familiar to you? In August The Mirror quoted Pattinson in an “exclusive” interview bemoaning, “You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens.” The first time we saw those quotes, his rep told Gossip Cop exclusively, that The Mirror interview was wholly fabricated. Gossip Cop has asked Now to pull its (repeated) phony interview – now!

The latest in Lindsay Lohan rumors had the “Freaky Friday” star excited about posing for Playboy after being offered $900,000. But as Gossip Cop reported exclusively, she is not considering doing a Playboy spread anytime soon. This week also had the Star publishing a completely made-up story about Lohan and gal pal Samantha Ronson having all the men removed from a nightclub in Sardinia, Italy, where they reportedly partied with females only on August 18. Slight hitch: Gossip Cop spotted Lohan at a screening of “Inglourious Basterds” in New York on August 17, and ran into her at dinner on August 19. She was NOT in Italy, as was ridiculously reported. And by the end of the week, blogs were claiming, “Lindsay Lohan robbed her own house.” In Touch even ran side-by-side photos of the burglar and Lohan, striking a similar pose, and noted, “The identities of the thieves haven’t been determined, but one of them bears an eerie resemblance to Lindsay.” (As eery a resemblance as say, rumor cop?) Anyway, a rep told Gossip Cop that the person pictured in the surveillance video was NOT Lohan.

Jennifer Aniston was the subject of a couple of Gossip Cop corrections this week. A number of outlets reported that Aniston and John Mayer were getting back together based on such irrefutable evidence that Aniston was wearing a Rolex that the musician allegedly gave her when they were dating. Time out: So not true! And the boobs at Grazia magazine wrote that Aniston recently had her breasts done with a gel injection. While a titillating story, that too was fake.

“Twilight” fans have been in a tizzy since Splash News reported on its website this afternoon that Kristen Stewart was with former boyfriend Michael Angarano in Vancouver over the weekend. Says Splash’s “source,” Angarano “flew up there and the two were seen together.”

Ohhhhh-kay.

Right now there are no photos. There are no details. No one has placed Stewart with Angarano at any specific locations. No one has confirmed seeing them, period.

Angarano, however, WAS spotted this weekend by photographer Matt Sloan, who Tweeted about meeting Stewart’s former flame — in Los Angeles.

Now it’s possible, of course, that Angarano could have flown up to Vancouver earlier in the weekend. But Gossip Cop has spoken with reps for both Stewart and Angarano. We have asked sources in the field. We have scoured for independent confirmation. And we can find no evidence to support Splash’s sighting.

As of now Gossip Cop thinks Splash’s “Twilight Insider” is out of the loop.

When it came to Twilight, today Gossip Cop received more tips than a stripper at a Hollywood bachelor party.

First, the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart “are they or aren’t they?” question is back, with a TON of blogs picking up on Stewart’s ‘recent’ denial that she and Pattinson are dating. “Robert and I are great friends but I understand why you would assume that, when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more.”

That would be an illuminating quote from the actress if it had been given any time close to the “New Moon.” In fact, Stewart’s words are from an interview she did with E! way back in March. At the time of the interview, Stewart was still dating Michael Angarano – and hadn’t yet been spotted at a Kings of Leon concert or coffee outing with Pattinson, both of which sent fans into a frenzy.

Second is the rumor that Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato would fill the role of the vampire Tanya in “Eclipse.” Chatter began when blogs picked up a story that said Lopilato was meeting with director David Slade “to discuss the details” of the character.

A rep for the film tells Gossip Cop unequivocally that the rumor is “totally false,” that they never heard of Lopilato, and that the Tanya character is not even in the movie “Eclipse.”

The hilariously misnamed Allie is Wired has done it yet again. In an item titled, “Michael Angarano Cheating on Kristen Stewart?” (taken from Hollywood Dame), she writes: “Kristen Stewart must be so lonely. Her boyfriend, Michael Angarano, was spotted partying it up at the Laurel Tavern Bar is [sic] Studio City, California. They [a brunette she actually forgot to mention] were having a good time drinking until the wee hours of the morning, when he drove her home to her apartment at 1 a.m. And nothing happened?!?? Right!”

Eesh. Angarano can do whatever he wants with whomever he wants – he and Stewart broke up a looooong time ago.  And, Stewart’s been spotted all over L.A. spending quality time with a young man named Robert Pattinson.

Gossip Cop feels bad about this cold dish, and should probably also tip Allie off that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are no longer together. Ditto for Sony and Cher.
