Metallica fans rioted after the band’s first ever concert in India was canceled at the last minute.

The heavy metal icons were set to play on Friday night in Gurgaon near Delhi for approximately 25,000 fans when technical difficulties first delayed – and then scrapped – the performance.

The West Memphis Three have been freed after 18 years in prison for the murders of three Boy Scouts, a crime they’re widely believed to be innocent of committing.

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder and Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines, who along with a slew of other celebs have long proclaimed the men’s innocence, arrived at court today to show their support for Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley.

Metallica boarded a bus to overcome both the volcano that’s shut down Europe and a tragic chapter in the band’s own history.

Metal gods James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Robert Trujillo embarked on a 28-hour journey over land and sea to get from Oslo, Norway to the Latvian capital of Riga after ash from last week’s Icelandic volcano eruption wreaked havoc on air travel.

It was the first time in more than two decades Metallica traveled by bus.

Bassist Cliff Burton was killed in September 1986 when the band’s bus flipped near Dorarp, Sweden.
