Meryl Streep leads this year’s list of Kennedy Center Honors recipients, a group that also includes Neil Diamond, Sonny Rollins, Yo-Yo Ma and Barbara Cook.

The organization made the announcements this morning.

President and Mrs. Obama will host the five performers at a White House reception on December 4, followed by the event at the Kennedy Center itself.

Among those attending the 150-person lakeside wedding were Claire Danes, Laura Linney, and Tracey Ullman.

The bride wore her grandmother’s wedding gown.

Oprah Winfrey will star in ‘Ruined,’ a movie based on the play of the same name about a brothel in war-torn Congo.

Winfrey will also serve as executive producer for the project, which is to be adapted by playwright Lynn Nottage.

‘Ruined’ concerns Mama Nadi, who runs a house of ill repute in Congo and tries to protect her employees from conflict between the government and rebel armies.
