Count Mary J. Blige among those baffled by the decision to select only two nominees in the Best Original Song category at this year’s Oscars.

After her tune “The Living Proof” (from The Help) – along with other worthy contenders – was left out of the nominations, Blige expressed her frustration on Twitter.

She wrote, “I’m so thankful for true fans like you all. It saddens me & feels like the Academy is being mean. 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is….”

Blige then retweeted a number of supportive messages from fans who were similarly upset about “The Living Proof”’s absence.

The Academy nominated “Man or Muppet” (from The Muppets) and “Real in Rio” (from Rio) as the only two Best Original Song contenders, freezing out big names like Blige, Madonna and Elton John.

Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Clarkson were announced on Monday to perform at the 2011 American Music Awards next month.

Aguilera and Maroon 5 are slated to perform their summer hit, “Moves Like Jagger,” at the awards show.

They’ll take the stage along with previously announced entertainers Katy Perry and Pitbull.

Adele and Lady Gaga lead the artists with the most nominations at the AMAs, which will air live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on November 20.

Jazzlyn Little was a nervous 16-year-old when she stepped onto “The X Factor” audition stage, and Simon Cowell‘s initial line of questioning didn’t do much to change that.

But then Little began to sing Mary J. Blige‘s “I’m Going Down.”

The audience loved it, as did the judges, including Paula Abdul, who proclaimed Little a “brilliant gem.”

“Jazzlyn, I’d love to see what you’re like when you’ve got confidence,” said Cowell after the performance. “What I love about you is you – I get the feeling – love music, are taking this seriously, are someone who wants to get better, and that’s why we made this show. To find people like you.”

Cee Lo Green took it up a notch, though, coming out as LaBelle for his performance of “Somebody Loves You.”

The showman donned a sparkling jacket and a wig that he coated with hairspray.

Justin Bieber helped his manager Scooter Braun celebrate his 30th birthday at the Music Box in L.A. on Saturday, along with a slew of other stars such as Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Mary J. Blige.

Usher kicked off the party by performing, “DJ Got Us Falling in Love,” (which The Biebs accompanied with his amazing dance moves).

There were also surprise performances by MC Hammer and Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine.

Not enough?

There were pole dancers, fire throwers and a beer pong tournament, which Bieber and Jaden Smith played, but with water instead of beer.

In a piece titled, “Christina’s Diva Demands,” In Touch claims, “Rather than savoring her comeback courtesy of The Voice, Christina Aguilera shocked onlookers by snubbing Mary J. Blige at the music legend’s Belvedere-sponsored FFAWN benefit concert on May 1.”

So, what did she do?

According to a so-called “eyewitness” at the New York event which benefitted disadvantaged women, “After warbling through one song, Christina left the stage without even acknowledging Mary or the charity.”

The story goes on to allege that Aguilera then showed up to the event’s after-party “drunk — and three hours late!”

Actually, that’s not exactly what happened.

An Aguilera pal tells Gossip Cop the In Touch article is “all wrong,” and that the singer was very supportive of her “dear friend” Blige.

And Aguilera’s rep says, “She was there early and stayed the whole show. This couldn’t be further from the truth,” adding it’s “sad when someone does something for charity that the press spins into a negative.”

Indeed.

R&B legend Teena Marie‘s death yesterday touched many in the music world.

“God bless Teena Marie & her Family!” tweeted Alicia Keys. “Sending Blessings & prayers. I was jus sayin tht ["Fire and Desire"] is 1 of the most beautifully performed songs!”

Mary J. Blige tweeted, “Rest in peace Teena Mari. My Love love for u is forever.”

Diddy and Common also paid tribute to the late musician on Twitter.

But perhaps no message was as personal as Lenny Kravitz‘s video remembrance of Marie, whom he describes as a “treasure.”

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Teena,” says Kravitz, who describes Marie taking him in when he was a teenage street musician, giving him a bedroom, feeding him, and caring for him. “She changed my life, not only as an artist, but as a person.”

“Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Renew Their Vows In Front Of Guests Including Brangelina And Tomkat!” exclaims a headline from HollywoodLife, which doesn’t have one single fact right.

If HollywoodLife weren’t free, Gossip Cop would probably organize a campaign for readers to demand their money back.

According to the site, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony celebrated their sixth anniversary “at their Hidden Hills home by renewing their vows – and it brought out some huge Hollywood stars. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Kate Beckinsale were just a few of the guests at the lavish affair.”

First, Lopez and Anthony did NOT renew their vows on Saturday night.

That NEVER happened.

As Gossip Cop had previously reported – and HollywoodLife should’ve known – on Saturday the couple threw a housewarming (and sixth anniversary) party, and NO VOWS were renewed.

Secondly, neither Pitt and Jolie nor Cruise and Holmes were at the party.

NONE of them were there.

HollywoodLife completely fabricated that.

As Gossip Cop exclusively reported, thanks to a guest at the party, the celebs who attended the housewarming/anniversary party included, Kim Kardashian, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Leah Remini, Mary J. Blige and Ryan Seacrest.

Gossip Cop‘s insider called the HollywoodLife story “bulls**t.”

Frankly, we have a feeling even bulls would be insulted to be connected, in any way, to HollywoodLife.

“Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony Renew Their Vows,” reads an UsMagazine.com headline today.

Us Weekly’s website reports, “To celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony – who renewed their vows in 2008 — said ‘I do’ again at their new Hidden Hills, Calif., estate Saturday.”

Really?

They said, “I do,” again last night?

Interestingly, while the site notes, “The color scheme for the party was black, chocolate brown and white and there were several outdoor lounge areas set up,” UsMagazine.com doesn’t offer one single detail in its article about the renewal ceremony or who attended.

That’s because Lopez and Anthony did NOT renew their vows last night, according to a guest who spoke to Gossip Cop.

Instead, the couple had an intimate housewarming (and sixth anniversary) party at their new Hidden Hills home.

Gossip Cop is told attendees included, Kim Kardashian, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Leah Remini, Mary J. Blige and Ryan Seacrest.

“No renewing of vows,” reiterates Gossip Cop’s insider. “It was intimate, under 100 people, family and friends, very chill and relaxed.”

The partygoer adds, “It was a lot of fun and a lot of dancing. Just a great party.”

And that’s all it was – a party.

Never one to let a little cautious consideration get in the way of generously punctuated hysteria, MediaTakeOut today shows photos of Mary J. Blige talking on the phone… and concludes she and Kendu Isaacs are about to divorce.

The site was “hearing WHISPERS of a split,” and now “those whispers are getting LOUDER and LOUDER.”

It seems MTO’s “paparazzi snitches” snapped shots of Blige having a “heated” phone conversation.

With whom? MTO doesn’t know, but they “believe” it was Isaacs.

About what? Again, MTO has no idea, but reports that “it could be about how Kendu and HIS BOYS” partied at this weekend’s Floyd Mayweather fight.

Let’s review.

Blige was on the phone, talking about something unknown with someone it can’t name, and with no other information MediaTakeOut cries, “SPLITTSVILLE???!?!”

We can’t say we’re surprised to see MTO posting bogus Blige buzz. Back in November, the site put the singer on “PREGGO WATCH!!!” after photos supposedly showed a baby bump.

Gossip Cop busted the pregnancy rumors then, and we’re going to wipe out this lame breakup talk today.

It turns out that seeing half of a phone conversation is not strong evidence of impending divorce.

Shocking!

A rep for Blige tells Gossip Cop the speculation of “Splitsville” is “not true,” and mentioned that the couple seems “very happy” as they get ready to attend tonight’s Met Ball in New York City.

Blige and Isaacs attend balls. MediaTakeOut just drops them.

The weekly event will kick off in New York’s Central Park on May 21 with the Jonas Brothers and Lovato, all of whom will make a second appearance in mid-August. Other scheduled performers include Sugarland, Mary J. Blige and Rihanna, with more still to be announced.

As you may or may not know, while posing with her four Grammy Awards after the telecast two nights ago, Taylor Swift dropped one of her trophies, which broke into pieces.

Oops.

But no need to worry for the young singing sensation. Swift doesn’t need to repair or replace it.

The Grammys she posed with weren’t her own. They were stand-in statuettes that winners are given to take pictures with. The real ones, engraved with her name on them, won’t arrive in Nashville for a few weeks.

Gossip Cop is told the guy who stacked them in her arms for pictures didn’t balance them too well.

And while Swift was momentarily concerned about busting a Grammy, we hear the photographers there told her not to feel bad since the same thing also happened to Mary J. Blige.

The Grammy Awards, which air this Sunday on CBS, will feature a fundraising segment for Haiti relief, and so far what’s slated is a special duet with Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli on the hit Simon and Garfunkel song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” 

After the show, the duet  will be available on iTunes and all proceeds from the sales will go to the American Red Cross to help those devastated by the earthquake.

Also slated to perform at the Grammys this year are Lady Gaga, the Dave Matthews Band, Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, and Taylor Swift, who are all nominated for Album of the Year.

“Hope for Haiti” airs later tonight, and the array of stars signed up to help the island nation devastated by an earthquake is growing by the hour.

The two-hour telethon, which will air on every major network and dozens upon dozens of other stations across the U.S. and around the world, is being hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Haiti native Wyclef Jean in New York, and Anderson Cooper from Haiti.

So who will you see tonight?

Among those signed up so far are Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Bill Clinton, Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Clint Eastwood, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Jon Stewart, Ellen Degeneres, Matt Damon, and Morgan Freeman, to name just a few.

And the fundraiser has attracted a number of major artists who will be performing as well. That list includes, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Shakira, Mary J. According to Taylor Lautner’s rep, the “New Moon” heartthrob will not be participating in the “Hope for Haiti” telethon.

But something that should be music to your ears is the long list of musicians who will be performing during the two-hour fundraiser, which is being aired on every major network and numerous other cable outfits.

In New York, where Haiti native Wyclef Jean will host the show, there will be performances by Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Sting, and Jean himself.

Co-host George Clooney will be in Los Angeles, where Taylor Swift, Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Christina Aguilera, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Justin Timberlake are slated to perform.

And Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Coldplay will hit the stage in London, where Robert Pattinson will lend a helping hand as well.

The music will be available, beginning Saturday, on iTunes and all the proceeds will go to the charities benefiting from the telethon, including the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam, Partners in Health, and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation.

Additionally, the event will feature dozens and dozens of big stars manning the phones, and Anderson Coooper reporting from Haiti.

While Simon Cowell’s future with “American Idol” is still up in the air, it’s just been announced that the new season will begin on January 12 and January 13, with four full hours of auditions from Boston and Atlanta.

Other auditions, which will air later, took place in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Orlando, and Los Angeles, and will feature guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Shania Twain.

On February 17, it will be announced who the 12 male and 12 female semifinalists are, and voting will begin the following week.

And, of course, Ellen DeGeneres will be taking Paula Abdul’s seat.

MediaTakeOut seems to have a very fertile imagination. The hit or miss site, this time shot blanks with a story that screamed, “MARY J BLIGE PREGNANT???? NEW PHOTOS APPEAR TO SHOW A SLIGHT BUMP!!!”

The site goes on to caption its photos with, “Now y’all know that Mary usually wears tight fitting stuff… we’re putting her on PREGGO WATCH!!!”

Well, despite what they think they see in the photos of Blige with her husband Kendu Isaacs, a music executive, they can take her off “Preggo Watch,” because there isn’t a “slight” bit of truth to the story. Blige’s rep tells Gossip Cop that baby talk is “not true.”

In a move far less surprising than the ones Michael Jackson did onstage, now comes word that the Jackson tribute concert, slated to take place on September 26 in Vienna, is being pushed back to June – and to London.

The reason?

Simple. The event organizers couldn’t pull it together and their supposed lineup of stars, including Mary J. Blige, Natalie Cole, and Chris Brown – who has some community service ahead of him – had scheduling issues.

Those who bought tickets will be refunded, and tickets for the London concert, which start at approximately $75, go on sale on December 1.

Before buying tickets and airfare, Gossip Cop is going to wait to see if the proposed new concert will be a thriller or whether this too will go bad.

An enormous tribute concert for the late Michael Jackson will happen in Vienna later this month, Jermaine Jackson and other organizers announced, and the lineup of performers includes Mary J. Blige, Sister Sledge, Natalie Cole, and troubled star Chris Brown.

So far thirteen artists are confirmed, but event promoter Georg Kindel said that up to 25 performers are expected to be part of the show, which will take place outside the 17th-century Schoenbrunn Palace because, according to Jermaine Jackson, Michael “loved castles.” Organizers refused to say whether other rumored performers – including Madonna, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder – would participate in the September 26th event.

One entertainer definitely on board according to organizers is Brown, whose style has been compared frequently to Jackson’s, but whose personal life has been in turmoil since his conviction for assaulting girlfriend Rihanna. Brown and his fellow artists are expected to perform Jackson’s hit songs and celebrate the King of Pop’s legacy as a humanitarian.

Gossip Cop expects there to be a lot of speculation about possible performers as the concert nears. We will monitor the process and do our best to separate fact from fiction.

There was speculation that Joe Jonas might be an “American Idol” judge, then stories that all three brothers would be judges, but Gossip Cop has confirmed with the trio’s rep that “Joe will be a guest judge on one episode” of “American Idol,” and it will be “Joe only” and not Nick or Kevin.

Joe will be joining such other guest judges as Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, and Shania Twain.
