As many people already know, there’s been a surprising American Idol exit today.

Chris Golightly was booted from the program’s ninth season despite being announced last night as one of the final 24 contestants. Tim Urban has replaced him.

A person close to Golightly now tells the Associated Press the show dropped him due to a “lack of veracity.”
