Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set to star in “Veep,” a comedy for HBO.

The “Seinfeld” actress will play Senator Selina Meyer, who becomes Vice President.

Political satirist Armando Iannucci is behind the project.

Louis-Dreyfus most recently starred in “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” as well as the most recent season of “Seinfeld” creator Larry David‘s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Will Ferrell and other investors have lost an $18 million arbitration case against JPMorgan Chase.

The group must pay $634,500 in legal fees, a penalty and hearing costs.

Ferrell, his wife Viveca Paulin, business manager Matt Lichtenberg and a trust for fellow funnyman Larry David filed the case in 2008.

They claimed that JPMorgan had made “unauthorized and unsuitable” purchases of preferred securities for their accounts. Ferrell’s group wanted the brokerage house to rescind those purchases.

But the three-member arbitration panel has rejected their claims, instead making them pony up hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs.

Jon Stewart will once again host Comedy Central’s celeb-studded “Night Of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Concert For Autism Education.”

Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Larry David, Stephen Colbert are among the huge roster of stars expected to participate in the event, the network announced on Thursday.

The two-hour event airs on October 21.

“Night Of Too Many Stars” will be built around a comedy concert in New York featuring Steve Carell, Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, Joel McHale and many others.

The evening features live performances, sketches and short films.

A Los Angeles phone bank for donations, meanwhile, will be manned by celebrities including Jimmy Kimmel, Jim Parsons, Sofia Vergara and Bryan Cranston.

Cheryl Hines and husband Paul Young have filed for divorce.

“They will remain extremely close friends and will raise their daughter together,” says a rep in a statement to Gossip Cop.

The couple officially filed on July 20.

Larry David‘s TV wife on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” had been married for seven years in real life. She and Young have a 6-year-old daughter named Catherine.

Laurie David is blasting an explosive report in tomorrow’s Star magazine that claims she had an affair with Al Gore, ending his forty-year marriage to Tipper Gore.

“The story is completely untrue,” David tells The Huffington Post.

“It’s a total fabrication. I adore both Al and Tipper. I look at them both as family,” adds the environmentalist, who produced Gore’s documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. “And I have happily been in a serious relationship since my divorce.”

David split from “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator Larry David in 2007.

The Gores announced their own separation on June 1.

HBO has renewed “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for a ten-episode eighth season.

The comedy of awkwardness and anger will begin production on new episodes this summer in Los Angeles and New York. Last year saw a fake reunion of the “Seinfeld” cast close out the seventh season of “Curb.”

“After much soul searching — and by the way, it was nowhere to be found — I have decided to do another season of Curb,” says series creator and star Larry David. “I look forward to the end of shooting, when I can once again resume the hunt for my elusive soul. I know it’s here somewhere or perhaps in the rugged mountainous regions of Pakistan.”

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” also stars Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, and regular appearances from David pals like Richard Lewis.

The season is slated to air in 2011.

Jerry Seinfeld‘s Thursday night show, “The Marriage Ref,” in which a panel of celebs offers how to resolve issues between married couples, is being renewed for next season, NBC announced today.

The Peacock network ordered 10 episodes for next season, and an additional three installments for this year.

The show is hosted by comedian Tom Papa.

Panelists who have offered their marital advice on the show this season have included Alec Baldwin (divorced), Larry David (divorced), and Madonna (divorced).

Madonna is slated to make a rare TV appearance as a panelist on Jerry Seinfeld‘s new NBC show, “Marriage Ref,” where celebs decide who’s right and who’s wrong in disputes between real husbands and wives.

One can argue that having been divorced twice, Madonna may not be the best authority on marriage, though the flip side is what she learned from having been wed to Guy Ritchie and Sean Penn may help when advising married couples.

Other celebrity panelists to appear on the show, which premieres February 28, include Eva Longoria, Tina Fey, Larry David (divorced), and Alec Baldwin (divorced).

We’re not sure how basic cable’s TV Land and TV Guide Network are going to air scenes with the f-bomb dropping Susie Essman, but the two networks are acquiring the rights to air Larry David’s hit HBO series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

“Curb,” which also stars Cheryl Hines and Jeff Garlin – and often has cameos by such stars as Ted Danson, Richard Lewis, and even Jerry Seinfeld last night — will begin airing on the TV Guide Network come February 2010, and on TV Land as early as 2013.

Whether they edit out Essman’s curses or dub in the word “freak,” Gossip Cop is psyched about the new deal.

While the stars of other shows are often pampered, it wasn’t that way with the hit HBO show “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which stars Larry David, Jeff Garlin, and Cheryl Hines, among others.

Page Six recently spoke to “Curb” star Susie Essman, who told the popular gossip column that for the first two seasons of the series “we had a communal trailer that we all shared – me, Larry, Jeff, Cheryl, any of the guests stars, we were all in the same trailer. Changing together, using the same bathroom. You think those ‘Sex and the City’ girls didn’t have trailers from day one? Oh yes they did!”

What’s equally remarkable about that info is that Page Six somehow or another was able to quote Essman without any expletives.
