Kiefer Sutherland will star in the pilot for “Touch,” a drama about a father who learns that his mute, autistic son can predict future events.

Last week, Gossip Cop reported that Sutherland was in talks for the role. Now it’s a done deal.

Sutherland is currently in the Broadway revival of That Championship Season.

The actor became one of the past decade’s biggest TV stars while playing Jack Bauer on “24.”

“Touch” is written by Tim Kring, who created “Heroes.”

Kiefer Sutherland may be headed back to primetime TV.

The former “24″ actor is in talks to star in a new drama “Touch,” about a father who discovers his mute, autistic child can predict events before they happen.

The pilot, written by “Heroes” creator Tim Kring, is being produced by Fox.

Sutherland played CTU agent Jack Bauer on “24″ for eight seasons. His extremely popular portrayal of the character earned him an Emmy in 2006.

Kiefer Sutherland now says it’s been difficult putting a script together, but production will begin in eight months.

Fans of Kiefer Sutherland‘s “24″ had hoped there would be a big screen version of the hit TV series.

And it seemed like it was going to happen.

When the show ended last spring, Sutherland himself said, “We wanted to create a definitive end for [his character] Jack Bauer… Since we do have the intention to make the feature film, it would lead into that and certainly set that up.”

But now comes word that 20th Century Fox turned down a screenplay for the film adaptation.

Howard Gordon, who produced the show, told Entertainment Weekly, “As far as I know, it is in suspended animation… There is talk about re-approaching it. I understand [director/producer] Tony Scott is meeting with Kiefer to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it.”

Hopefully, whatever issues there are with the plot can be resolved.

When Eva Longoria filed for divorce from Tony Parker two weeks ago, and the world got wind of his inappropriate texting with Erin Barry, a slew of other rumors about Parker’s faithfulness began to surface.

But now the National Enquirer is claiming that Longoria may have strayed.

According to the tab, Parker was “jealous” of Longoria’s relationships with Kiefer Sutherland, Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, but it was her “close ties” with Lance Armstrong “that sent Tony’s suspicions into overdrive.”

The mag quotes an alleged “source” as saying that “Tony knew when he was dating Eva that she was cheating on him with Lance – and he was suspicious all through the marriage that it might still be going on.”

Wow.

Apparently, Parker was so threatened by the Tour de France champ that “he told Eva to stay away from him,” the so-called source claims.

So, did the NBA champion really suspect his wife was having an affair?

Absolutely NOT!

A source close to Parker tells Gossip Cop that he never thought Longoria was cheating on him – with Armstrong or anyone else.

Everything’s bigger in Texas — including wrong rumors.

Stories circulating on Monday have not one, not two, but three major names attached to a TNT reboot of the iconic series “Dallas.”

Kiefer Sutherland (“24″), Jennifer Love Hewitt (“Ghost Whisperer”) and Josh Holloway (“Lost”) are all coming off successful TV shows, and now outlets including the Daily Mail claim they’re primed to join a new version of “Dallas,” along with original stars Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy.

The updated version will reportedly focus on the scandalous Ewing family’s younger generation.

But don’t expect to see any of the rumored cast additions.

“There’s no truth” to reports linking Sutherland to “Dallas,” his representative tells Gossip Cop.

A spokesperson for Hewitt labels her supposed involvement “not true.”

And Holloway’s rep echoes their sentiments, saying it’s “not happening.”

It looks like the inaccurate reports tried to attach three big actors to the project… yet couldn’t manage to name a Lone Star.

TMZ claims “24″ star Kiefer Sutherland was “tossed from [a] strip club” in London last night after “getting into it with somebody inside the club.”

According to the site, Sutherland, who served time for drunk driving, “was acting crazy” inside the gentlemen’s club Stringfellows, and even took his shirt off.

Maybe we’re out of practice, but don’t the dancers take off their tops, and the patrons remain clothed?

Anyway, TMZ reports that at around 3:30 a.m., the club’s bouncers “[threw] him out the door.”

Actually, that’s not what happened, according to the club owner himself.

On the official Stringfellows site, Peter Stringfellow writes, “Sutherland had a wonderful time, was incredibly charming to all the staff, very generous to all the girls and made friends with my security people.”

And while Strongfellow acknowledges that Sutherland took off his top – because he thought it was funny – the owner takes issue with TMZ’s assertion that the actor was “tossed” for the strip joint.

Instead, Stringfellow explains that because of the paparazzi outside, “We arranged [for] him to leave via the backdoor with the help of two of my security guys, an operations director and the VIP manager,” not bouncers.

In fact, Sutherland was so “charming,” Stringfellow concludes with an open invitation: “Kiefer, if you read this we’d love to see you at the club [sic] the girls had a terrific time with you and you are welcome back at Stringfellows anytime.”

Gossip Cop‘s verdict?

“Toss” the thrown out part from TMZ’s report.

Could Jack Bauer be trading a Fox for a Peacock?

According to a report, the studio behind “24″ has approached NBC about picking up the series if Fox decides to cancel it as rumored.

Multiple sources tell EW that NBC is considering the acquisition. One source is quoted as saying, “There’s definitely some interest.”

There has also been talk of “24″ and Kiefer Sutherland‘s Jack Bauer character being spun off into a movie franchise.

“24″ is currently in its eighth season.

20th Century Fox announced that Kiefer Sutherland has been cleared by physicians to return to work on “24″ following reported surgery on a cyst near his kidney on February 16.

The show will resume production on March 1.

Sutherland reportedly suffered the rupture days before the February 14 announcement there would be a brief production break. Until that point, production had continued in his absence.

He stars as agent Jack Bauer on the hit series.

20th Century Fox has halted production on hit series “24″ while star Kiefer Sutherland undergoes surgery related to a ruptured cyst near his kidney.

Sutherland experienced the rupture earlier last week, but production continued without his presence until Friday.

Production will likely resume in one week.

On Sunday, 20th Century Fox Television released the following statement:

“We are temporarily suspending production of ‘24’ while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure. We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season’s episodes.”

Kiefer Sutherland was victimized in an alleged cattle scam.

According to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, the “24″ star was swindled out of $869,000 by Michael Wayne Carr, a competitive steer roping promoter and cattle manager.

Carr reportedly took the sum from Sutherland on an agreement that he would purchase steers in Mexico and sell to prearranged U.S. buyers. Prosecutors say Carr never bought the steers. Allegedly, he also scammed a New Mexico couple out of $177,000.

Carr is expected to be arraigned on twelve felony charges including grand theft and embezzlement.

Gossip Cop loves nothing more than rekindled romances, and so we were excited to read that Kiefer Sutherland is trying it again with his ex.

“It’s take two for Kiefer Sutherland and his ex-wife, former model Kelly Winn,” writes the Star, which conveniently has a “source,” who says, “He’s been sneaking up to her house in L.A. and spending a lot of time with her.”

The usual suspects picked up the weekly’s claim that after a recent relationship with a magazine editor ended, Sutherland “raced back” into Winn’s arms. “He’s finally realized he never should have left Kelly,” the “source” tells the mag.

Oh wait, there’s actually one thing that Gossip Cop loves even more than rekindled romances – it’s accurate reporting. And unfortunately, the Star’s story is not a good example of it.

A rep for Sutherland told Gossip Cop it’s “not true” that the “24” star is involved in a Winn-Winn situation.
