“Eva Longoria is urging her pal, Jessica Simpson, to change her wedding date!” begins a breathless story from In Touch.

The mag says Longoria, who knows Simpson through their mutual hairstylist Ken Paves, believes her friend is making a huge mistake marrying Eric Johnson on November 11, 2011 (11-11-11), because she and Tony Parker tied the knot on July 7, 2007 (7-7-7), and are now divorced.

We’re not making this up.

The tab says Simpson “feels it’s a lucky day that will get the new marriage off to the perfect start,” but Longoria “couldn’t disagree more!”

A supposed “friend” of  the “Desperate Housewives” actress claims, “Eva’s superstitious and feels her friend chose the wrong date,” noting, “She literally called Jessica and told her to pick another day to get married.”

Hold on.

Simpson’s alleged 11-11-11 wedding date is a rumor started by In Touch (which first wrongly claimed the nuptials were taking place on June 11, 2011), and the star’s rep has repeatedly told Gossip Cop that no date has been set.

In any case, a rep for Longoria tells Gossip Cop the tab’s tale is “completely untrue.”

Star magazine doesn’t get too weighed down by accuracy when it comes to Jessica Simpson and her body.

The tab, which in the past has been light on the facts with Simpson, now claims that she’s turned to best friend/stylist Ken Paves to trim her hair and “give her a ‘do that would disguise the weight she’s gained recently.”

Huh?

The Star even manages to find a so-called “source” who says, ”She’s working out a lot, but in the meantime she asked Ken for a slimming cut.”

A source close to the singer called the Star‘s facts-starved story “crazy” and “not true.”

After writing and snacking all day, Gossip Cop can’t decide whether to hit the gym later – or just get a slimming cut.

The New York Post, which in the past month (wrongly) claimed Katy Perry will design footwear and (wrongly) insisted Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie “staged” photos in Venice, today concocts another (wrong) rumor, this time about Jessica Simpson and best friend/hairdresser Ken Paves.

Quoting so-called “sources,” the Post claims executives at VH1 are “trying to reduce the role” of Paves in Simpson’s new series, “The Price of Beauty.” The show follows Simpson, Paves, and their pal CaCee Cobb as they cross the world looking at varying views on female perfection.

“Ken went along on the trip to do Jess’ hair,” alleges one New York Post source, “But it was impossible to get him out of the shot when taping began.” The cable channel supposedly lowered Paves’ profile in promos for “The Price of Beauty,” which premieres on March 15.

“They don’t want people to think it’s a show about a hair dresser,” says the so-called “source.”

So is it true that Paves is causing problems as a scene stealer, like the Post insists?

Absolutely NOT.

VH1 honcho Jeff Olde, who calls the item an “outright lie,” says in a statement that is “not remotely true.” He adds, “We love [Paves] and are beyond thrilled to have [him] and all [his] many talents in front of the camera and behind it… They couldn’t have gotten this more wrong.”

So does Simpson think Paves gets too much attention in the show?

Absolutely NOT.

There is “no truth whatsoever” to the story, a rep for Simpson assures Gossip Cop.

The rumor being floated, like a balloon over Colorado, is that Jessica Simpson went on a date with Gerard Butler.

In a story by the New York Post – and picked up by numerous other outlets such as Perez Hilton – Jessica Simpson had a “date” with Gerard Butler two days ago at New York’s Soho House that was chaperoned by several of their friends, including her hair stylist Ken Paves. The paper’s source claimed, “They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours.” The wistful witness added, “They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together, along with Ken.”

First of all, they weren’t on a date. Second, besides sharing a few laughs, the main connection between the two is that they share the same makeup artist. And third, a mutual friend of Gossip Cop and Butler’s swears, “100 percent there is no romance.”

Total mayhem broke out last night when Jessica Simpson and her hair stylist/best friend Ken Paves drove up to (and later left) Eva Longoria’s Hollywood restaurant Beso.

Simpson and Paves were caught in a paparazzi crush as they tried to make their way in (and out) of the restaurant where they were celebrating Paves’ birthday, along with Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Donald Faison, and Mario Lopez.

Paves can be seen trying to shield Simpson from getting hurt as they made their way through the mass of photographers and autograph seekers.

Just a few months ago in November, Paves was left bloodied when a cameraman’s lens cut his face open as he and Simpson attempted to navigate a sea of paparazzi when leaving the Beverly Hills restaurant Madeo.

At the end of this video you will notice a water bottle thrown at Simpson’s car by an autograph seeker. Fortunately, this time around, no one was injured.
