Earlier this week came overheated reports that Sienna Miller was eager to strike up a “friendship” with Robert Pattinson.

The rumor apparently originated with Miller hanging around Pattinson pal Tom Sturridge and supposedly being “keen to get to know hunk Robert.”

“I think she’s been texting Rob regularly,” claims a so-called “insider.”

When tabloid “sources” can only muster the confidence to “think” something is true, it’s a pretty good indication that it’s not.

We’re told the split happened amicably several weeks ago, and that the British stars are still friendly.

The way the National Enquirer tells it, Robert Downey, Jr. should have brought his suit from ‘Iron Man’ to the set of the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ sequel.

According to the tab, while filming a horse-drawn buggy scene in London, co-star Jude Law jerked the whip handle at the wrong moment and smacked Downey in the eye, “knocking him flat.”

Not that we’d ever question The Sun’s reporting (cough), but the paper’s new report about the upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” sequel set off alarms.

“One of the most sought-after Hollywood roles has been filled,” declares the story. Supposedly, Guy Ritchie has cast Daniel Day-Lewis as Holmes nemesis Professor Moriarty.

“The Oscar-winner will join Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law in the follow-up,” announces the Sun.
