Whitney Houston may be coming back to the big screen.

The singer is in talks to star opposite “American Idol” alum Jordin Sparks in a remake of the 1976 musical drama ‘Sparkle.’

The movie, inspired by The Supremes, tells the story of an aspiring group of female singers in Harlem during the early 1960s.

Almost as soon as they put their microphones down on Wednesday, “American Idol” winner Lee DeWyze and runner-up Crystal Bowersox put pen to paper.

Both singers signed record deals.

DeWyze inked a contract with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, while 19 Recordings limited and Jive recruited Bowersox. The pair also had their debut singles (“Beautiful Day” for DeWyze, “Up to the Mountain” for Bowersox) placed on iTunes.
