Sean Penn has reportedly settled a civil suit filed by the photographer he kicked.

The actor approached and kicked paparazzo Jordan Dawes in Brentwood, California in October 2009, with the incident caught on video.

Dawes claimed Penn threatened to kill him.

The two sides signed a settlement today, according to TMZ.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sean Penn pleaded no contest today to one count of vandalism, stemming from an altercation with a paparazzo in October. He was given probation and sentenced to community service as well as anger management.

Sean Penn allegedly threatened to kill the paparazzo with whom he scuffled last October, according to a report.

In February, Penn was charged with criminal battery and vandalism after Jordan Dawes claimed the actor attacked him while Dawes shot a documentary about paparazzi.

In a new civil lawsuit, Dawes says Penn began “kicking and punching” him, breaking his camera and supposedly threatening, “The next time I see you, you will be in a box.”
