Late Saturday, CBS Sports incorrectly reported that Joe Paterno had died at 85.

Family spokesperson Dan McGinn has refuted the rumor, as have Paterno’s own sons Jay and Scott on Twitter.

The only official responses to the Paterno report, at this time, are that it’s “not true” and “false.”

Again: There is absolutely NO news at the moment.

Tyler Perry, himself a victim of sexual abuse, has written an open letter to an 11-year-old alleged victim of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky.

The writer-actor-producer penned the powerful piece for Newsweek.

In it, Perry applauds the boy’s brave decision to speak out and calls him his “hero.”

Ashton Kutcher was slammed by his Twitter followers on Wednesday night after voicing support for Joe Paterno, who was fired as Penn State head football coach amid a child sex abuse scandal.

The university dismissed its president and Paterno in the wake of charges that former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky raped a number of boys over a period of many years, and that his actions that were not properly addressed by school officials.

Kutcher, apparently not realizing why Paterno was canned, dug himself into a big hole with his initial response to the news.
