Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth‘s marriage was the subject of speculation today after Perez Hilton posted an “EXCLUSIVE!” claiming the couple is on a “break.”

According to the blogger, Garth is living in the family’s Toluca Lake home while Facinelli is renting a residence in Santa Ynez.

“Insiders insist that no third party is involved, but divorce is looking like the final outcome,” claims Perez.

That’s not what Gossip Cop hears.

A source close to the couple tells us the family just returned, happily, from a two-week vacation together.

Additionally, we’re told Garth is living with Facinelli in the Santa Ynez house.

But they won’t be there for long because Gossip Cop is told they and their kids are heading off to the Maldives next Tuesday.

Once again, Perez is “exclusively” WRONG.

In a post directed at actress Jennie Garth, Perez Hilton spews, “Watch your back, Kelly. A beat down of Brenda Walsh-epic proportions is coming your way!”

Woah! Harsh.

What could Garth have done to deserve such wrath?

She spelled Shannen Doherty‘s name wrong in a tweet.

Garth had expressed her dismay at finding out her former co-star was eliminated from “Dancing With The Stars,” and typed Shannon, instead of Shannen.

Cue Perez’s venom-filled missive, which not only questions whether the “two are actually friends” but takes Garth to task for the slip-up, saying “You two only…starred together on 90210 for HOW many years and you can’t even spell her name correctly?”

You know who else can’t spell Shannen correctly?

Perez.

Not once. But twice.

Hi pot, meet kettle!

Perhaps Perez should school himself before dishing spelling lessons to others.

After all, he’s about as good at spelling as Dan Quayle.

(Although Quayle would probably be a better celebrity gossip blogger.)

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” opens tonight (have you heard?), and in light of Robert Pattinson being “confronted” (in good fun) on “The Today Show” this morning with a series of crazy rumors, Gossip Cop decided to compile a little trip down memory lane with our Top 20 Wrong “Twilight” Rumors from the last few speculation-saturated months.

There were, of course, the endless (endless, endless) Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart romance rumors, the problems with obnoxious paparazzi, issues with fake photos, crazy casting rumors involving “Harry Potter,” then ridiculous romance rumors involving “Harry Potter,” fake “Twilight”-bashing Tweets from Lauren Bacall (no, really), and more.

But here are the 20 that together helped to define the “Twilight” Tabloid Experience between the summer and tonight’s theatrical release. They’re fun, they’re wild, they’re crazy… and they’re wrong.

We know better than to trust Fox411 when it comes to “Twilight” reporting (let’s just say they haven’t exactly had the strongest week), but this one really had us scratching our heads.

Buried halfway down the millionth recycled version of a speculative Internet “are they or aren’t they?” story about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart come comments from “an inside source,” who tells the blog an off-screen Robsten romance “caused major friction with fellow Twilighter Nikki Reed, who started dating Pattinson late last year.” The article goes on to…

Wait, wait. Back up. What was that?

That’s right… just before tossing aside “tabloid talk” detailing the over-the-top life Pattinson and Stewart supposedly shared in their hotel suites high above Vancouver (talk, by the way, that Gossip Cop already debunked weeks ago), Fox411 claims that a Robsten relationship cut short one between Pattinson and Reed (“Rokki”?), who “were together” after the first film finished shooting. The site’s “insider” says “sparks” between Pattinson and Stewart led them to end their respective couplings, “So Nikki was the one to get hurt.”

Oh, boy. This is so, so old, and so, so wrong. This summer, Jennie Garth supposedly “outed” a Rob relationship with either Reed or Stewart… except Gossip Cop actually obtained a transcript of her interview and she didn’t.

And Reed herself has never acknowledged a relationship.

Ah, but Fox411 devises a convenient cover – “Nikki was really in love with Rob,” says their source, “but we’re all scared to bring it up now. It’s something we just don’t talk about.”

OK, then! So again we have a relationship that can’t be confirmed because everyone who “knows” about it is too scared.

Can Fox411 come up with a third crazy Pattinson rumor before the week ends? Stay tuned!

The week began with “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spotted together all over Los Angeles, most notably taking in concerts and hanging out at hotels. Gossip Cop then busted a silly Star story that said Stewart was in a love triangle with Pattinson and co-star Taylor Lautner. But the most absurd RPatz rumor of the week had him engaged to a mystery woman. Controversy erupted later when Jennie Garth, the wife of “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli, allegedly leaked that Pattinson and Stewart were dating. Gossip Cop got to the bottom of the story and revealed that the New York Daily News had made up a quote implying the romantic reality of ‘Robsten.’ We also had a bit about a possible role for Patttinson, given to us by director Brett Ratner.

“Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene also got herself some publicity this week, both from leaked naked photos and for pictures of her making out with “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford en route to LAX airport.

Gossip Cop also had hysterical footage of Crawford and “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick dealing with a pesky paparazzo’s ridiculous questions when they arrived at JFK airport in New York.

This week Gossip Cop had an exclusive from Lindsay Lohan that, contrary to reports, gal pal Samantha Ronson did not stage an intervention to force the “Mean Girls” star into counseling. Lohan told Gossip Cop that story was “incorrect.”

Jessica Simpson was the subject of a series of absurd stories in Star this week. One had her dating ex-boyfriend Tony Romo’s rival quarterback, Colt Brennan of the Washington Redskins. But the piece that really triggered a war between Simpson and the tabloid was an article claiming that she was going to write a tell-all about past romances, and that her dad was trying to peddle the book for $5 million. The story was complete nonsense, and Gossip Cop exclusively got its hands on a letter from Simpson’s lawyer demanding a retraction from the Star.

Gossip Cop also pointed out a ludicrous story in which the National Enquirer said Kirstie Alley had only four more years to live. Alley thanked us on Twitter for our story.

Reports had Britney Spears engaged. Not true. And Gossip Cop also corrected a story this week that Spears’ ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake was moving to Connecticut. Instead, we had footage of Timberlake being harassed by the paparazzi in Los Angeles, where he, um… lives.

George Clooney is no fan of the paparazzi, specifically an Italian photographer, whom he’s suing for climbing onto his property in Lake Como and taking invasive pictures, including one of a friend’s 13-year-old daughter changing in one of his villa’s bedrooms.

We were happy to confirm that “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was helping winner Kris Allen with songs for his upcoming album. And in other “Idol” chatter, we corrected reports that had Victoria Beckham taking on full-time judging duties on the hit show.

Gossip Cop covered the Teen Choice Awards with red-hot red carpet photos and footage of Robert Pattinson having a “hairy” time. Like any good rumor cop, we also polled readers about Miley Cyrus’ pole dancing at the show. Speaking of Cyrus, Gossip Cop put to rest rumors that she would star in the “Sex and the City” sequel.

And what would a week be without Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie dish? Despite the incessant rumors of a break-up, Gossip Cop had an array of photos showing the couple happy together at the Hollywood premiere of “Inglourious Basterds.”

Gossip Cop has some major bad dish to bust — the day’s big story that Jennie Garth spilled the beans about Robert Pattinson dating either Kristen Stewart or Nikki Reed, his “Twilight” co-stars. Either way — it’s still way wrong.

The other blogs, including Perez Hilton, who don’t fact-check, have been buzzing all day about a quote Garth supposedly gave concerning Pattinson to the New York Daily News: “I can’t say [if it’s Stewart or Reed], because that would be breaking my promise to [her husband, “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli], but he is dating one of them!”

So what’s the problem? Garth never actually said that. Gossip Cop knows because we obtained a transcript. The only thing she said was, “That will be breaking my promise to my husband, but I do know.”

Garth’s rep also confirmed that she didn’t leak the highly guarded details about Pattinson’s love life.
