The celebrity chef and TV star’s new Montreal restaurant, Laurier Gordon Ramsay, debuted in ignominious fashion, with a burst sprinkler system bringing an early end to Opening Night festivities.

Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant was damaged in the riots that have swept London and other parts of England, the celebrity chef tweeted today.

“Sadly my restaurant in Birmingham got smashed up windows all gone whole area closed, cant open,” wrote Oliver, who was thankful to report, “staff and customers all safe!!”

Later, the celebrity chef and star of “Food Revolution” tweeted, “Birmingham restaurant got fixed up quick, sad for many of the other shop owners especially the small family run businesses in this [climate].”
