Tom Hardy is close to joining the next ‘Batman’ movie.

A source close to the star tells Gossip Cop that he’s slated for an undetermined lead role.

Negotiations began quickly after Hardy’s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was delayed. We’re told the rising British actor was soon flooded with offers, but that he jumped at ‘Batman 3.’

Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s older brother, Dan Gordon-Levitt, has passed away.

The actor announced on Twitter the death of “Burning Dan,” who was a fire-spinning artist and flow arts teacher at Flow Temple Arts School in Venice Beach, Calif.

“My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010,” tweeted Gordon-Levitt. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

The eagerly awaited sequel ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,’ starring Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, and Carey Mulligan opened in the top spot at the box office in its debut weekend, taking in $19 million. In second was the animated ‘Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole’ with $16.3 million, and last weekend’s big winner, ‘The Town,’ came in third with $16 million in receipts. Teen comedy ‘Easy A’ finished in fourth place, while newcomer ‘You Again,’ starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Betty White rounded out the top five. Ben Affleck’s bank robber drama, ‘The Town,’ has opened in the top spot at the box office, beating three other new releases.

The gritty crime film earned $23.8 million for the weekend, higher than most analysts predicted.

Teen comedy ‘Easy A’ finished in second place, with $18.2 million, while horror-in-the-elevator flick, ‘Devil,’ rounded the top three with $12.6 million.

‘Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D’ took the top spot this weekend at the box office, with $27.7 million in ticket sales. The fourth film in the post-apocalyptic Milla Jovovich franchise easily beat the debuts of the first three installments. ‘Takers’ and ‘The American,’ two of the movies that battled for #1 last week, were neck-and-neck for second and third place with $6.1 million and $5.9 million, respectively. Leonardo DiCaprio’s restraining order against allegedly delusional fan Livia Bistriceanu has been made permanent.

The obsessed Chicago woman must stay at least 100 yards away from DiCaprio, his home, his workplace and his vehicle for the next three years.

A judge with the Los Angeles Superior Court modified what had been a temporary order, won last month by the Inception star.

‘Expendables’ Swallows Up ‘Eat Pray Love’ for #1 spot
