The doctor is out.

“House” is ending after eight seasons, it was announced on Wednesday.

The FOX series about a cantankerous but brilliant doctor (Hugh Laurie) is set to conclude its network run this spring.

“After much deliberation, the producers of House M.D. have decided that this season of the show, the 8th, should be the last,” said executive producers David Shore, Katie Jacobs and Laurie in a statement.

“House” airs on Mondays at 8:00 p.m.

Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and a slew of other celebrities have made it into the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records.

The Biebs lost to Gaga for “Most Twitter Followers” — she had 11,259,372 as of June 29 — but he took the title for ”Most Popular Video of Any Kind Online,” with “Baby” snagging 463,820,304 views as of Feb. 16, 2011.

Lil Wayne is in the book for “Most US Hot 100 Hits by a Rap Artist,” with 64 between 1999 and 2010.

J.K. Rowling recieved the title of “First Billionaire Author,” with her seven Harry Potter books selling more than 400 million copies worldwide.

Johnny Depp is listed as “Highest Paid Actor” ($75 million), and Sandra Bullock as “Highest Paid Actress” ($56 million), while “Two and a Half Men” star Angus T. Jones is the “Highest Paid Child Star,” earning $250,000 per episode.

“American Idol” judge, Simon Cowell, who also created “America’s Got Talent” and produces records, earned more than any other guy on TV. According to Forbes, from June 1, 2008 to June 1, 2009, Cowell raked in $75 million.

Next was Donald Trump, who earned $50 million from “The Apprentice,” book sales, and all the products – ranging from neckties to vodka – that he endorses.

In the number three spot is Ryan Seacrest. With his hosting radio and TV shows, among other endeavors, Seacrest amassed $38 million.

“Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen made the combined salary of thousands of men with $21 million. And the fifth highest-earning guy on primetime was “The Office” star Steve Carell, who took in $20 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Howie Mandel ($15 million), Kiefer Sutherland ($13 million), Jeff Foxworthy ($11 million), Hugh Laurie ($10 million), and David Caruso ($9 million).

The Express reports that “the fake limp has caused Laurie some real problems – and he wouldn’t rule out leaving the show in a bid to regain full health.”

A slew of other outlets picked up on the story, and blogs burst with outrage that their favorite dour doctor is ready to hang up his stethoscope.

Relax. Take a deep breath. His rep, who was surprised by our questioning, told Gossip Cop it was “not true” and called stories about him now having hip problems – because of the show – “hysterical.”
