“There’s more exciting news for newly engaged couple LeAnn Rimes and fiance Eddie Cibrian,” begins a post by HollywoodLife‘s equally infantile sister site, HollyBaby, which claims “exclusively that she’s pregnant!”

According to one of the site’s fictitious sources, “LeAnn thinks she’s expecting… They’ve been trying for a while and after many pregnancy tests, she finally got the reading she was hoping for — the test was positive.”

Really?

NEGATIVE.

Rimes is NOT pregnant.

In fact, the singer-actress took to Twitter to blast the rumor, though she directed her comment to Hollyscoop, which only repeated Hollybaby’s inaccurate report.

Rimes responded, “this is such BS!!!! Lol, you people all report BS.”

Underscoring how she’s not pregnant, the newly engaged Rimes further tweeted that she was looking forward to hanging out in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with “friends, food, tequila.”

Once again, the only fertile things here are the imaginations of the hacks at Hollybaby.

Like a fish to a rotting worm, the hacks at Hollyscoop were caught and reeled in by another phony story.

According to the poorly reported site, Madonna has “been offered $1 billion dollars to take up a Las Vegas residency,” like such other stars as Celine Dion and Elton John.

Naturally, journalism’s other joker, Perez Hilton, took the bait as well.

“The billion dollar deal would be for five years,” claims Hollyscoop, which adds, “We say do it, Madge! The thought of knowing she’d be in Vegas for five years straight would be music to our ears.”

Perhaps, Hollyscoop should use their ears to hear this…

A rep for Madonna tells Gossip Cop their billion dollar claim is “not true.”

And like fish, again Hollyscoop just got schooled.

Yesterday, Gossip Cop busted Perez Hilton and other sites for falsely reporting that Angelina Jolie was going to star as Marilyn Monroe in a film adaptation of the book, “The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe.”

We also noted that George Clooney was not set to play Frank Sinatra in the movie, as erroneously reported by Perez and Hollyscoop, to name a few.

In fact, a rep for Jolie told Gossip Cop flat out, “Angelina is NOT attached to this project,” and Clooney’s spokesman called the casting stories “totally fabricated.

But never one to get a story wrong just once, today Perez scribbled, “Angelina Jolie is now expressing mixed feelings about starring as Marilyn Monroe,” and “wants to have a long chat with Clooney before making any decisions.”

Huh?

So she’s going to consult Clooney about co-starring in a film that he’s (also) not in?

Bottom line: Perez was wrong yesterday about Jolie and Clooney starring in the film, and he’s still wrong today.

Maybe one day Perez will actually steal the accurate story – that Angelina Jolie is NOT starring as Marilyn Monroe.

“Angelina Jolie has gotten the gig most actresses in Hollywood would die to get. Jolie will play Marilyn Monroe in the movie version of The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog,” begins another WHOLLY INACCURATE report from the hacks at Hollyscoop.

The site continues to embarrass itself by noting, “Angie will star alongside George Clooney who will play Frank Sinatra. That should be a fun movie set considering the fact that Clooney is BFF’s with Brad Pitt.”

Uh, Mr. Roarke says it’s time to leave “Fantasy Island.”

Not surprisingly, Hollyscoop’s journalistic equal, Perez Hilton, also picked up this tall tale for a post titled, “Angelina Jolie To Play Marilyn Monroe.”

Perez similarly claimed, “The role of Sinatra will be played by another Hollywood heavyweight, George Clooney.”

Suffice to say, the blogs’ stories are 100 PERCENT WRONG.

A rep for Jolie tell Gossip Cop that reports of the Oscar winner playing Monroe are “not true.” And Clooney’s rep called the stories “totally fabricated.”

We’d been led to believe that a headline should contain news.

That’s what makes reading Hollyscoop so confusing.

Today the site posts an “exclusive” that would seem at first glance to be — shockingly — actual news.

“‘Desperate Housewives’ Coming to End,” announces the headline.

Whoa, did Hollyscoop score a major scoop from one of the producers about plans to wrap up the long-running ABC series?

Nope.

Instead, the site spoke with star James Denton, who settles whether the matter by revealing… um, NOTHING.

“Right now all we have is this year and next year,” says the actor, referring to everyone’s contract status. “Nobody’s signed beyond [2011.]”

“Unless they can renegotiate, this will be the last season,” explains Denton.

Which is completely accurate… but the last thing from a definitive answer as to whether the show is entering its final season. Every single TV series “comes to an end” when it no longer has actors. They tend to be critical ingredients.

Denton merely stated a well-known truth — that “Desperate Housewives” contracts are up in 2011 — and Hollyscoop slapped an “exclusive” beneath the misleading headline, “‘Desperate Housewives’ Coming to End.”

Outlets are already picking up the thread and treating the story as though it’s news, when, in fact, it’s speculation and nothing more.

We wish Hollyscoop luck as the site, which recently announced non-existent Gilligan’s Island movie, continues to pursue a rock-solid strategy of printing the first thing it hears.

“Mischa Barton Done With Hollywood” declares a headline on Hollyscoop, which goes on to claim the former “O.C.” actress is “quitting Hollywood and moving to London with her new boyfriend.”

Really?

Citing a report from the often lukewarm Heat magazine, the site alleges Barton — who lived in London as a young child and still has close family there — will do “theatre work in London rather than attempting to work on movies in the U.S.”

Not really.

A source close to the star tells Gossip Cop that Barton actually has two potential film roles in the works.

Furthermore, a rep for Barton calls the report “not accurate.”

Just another scoop from “Hollyoops” that comes up empty.

According to the site, “Rumor has it that Michael Cera will be playing Gilligan, Seth Rogen will be Skipper and get this, Beyonce is gonna play Ginger in the Warner Brothers remake.”

Get this… Hollyscoop is 0 for 3.

A rep for Rogen tells Gossip Cop, “There is no way he’s doing this film,” and sources close to Beyonce and Cera echoed similar sentiments.

As usual, Hollyscoop’s reporting has as many holes as the S.S. Minnow.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have been an on-again, off-again couple for a while, but now some of gossip’s least reliable outlets claim a new guy will permanently split the two.

Barrymore has “moved on” to ABC television executive Cort Cass, explains Hollyscoop, a site best-known for embarrassing mistakes and general sloppiness.

According to the (wrongly sourced) report Hollyscoop cites, a Cass pal says, “Drew and Cort have been out six times or so. They were hanging out on July 2 and were way lovey-dovey.” When assured the two are “just friends,” Hollyscoop protests that it’s “just Hollywood speak for ‘new relationship.’”

For once, Hollyscoop is actually over-thinking.

There’s no “new relationship” between Barrymore and Cass.

Not to be outdone, Perez Hilton flies into action. The blogger repeats the “new man” buzz about Cass, saying, “We wonder if this one is a keeper??”

Like many of his stories, this Hilton post is definitely not a “keeper.”

The rumors about Barrymore and Cass are “not true,” a source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop.

“Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes: Take Two,” declares a headline on Hollyscoop, which goes on to claim the two are putting their “divorce plans on hold and are trying to save their marriage for the sake of their kids.”

Anyway, Holly Oops – as we prefer to call the site – reports Winslet and Mendes have “planned a romantic summer getaway with their kids to see if they can put the spark back in their relationship again.”

Wrong!

A rep for Mendes tells Gossip Cop there’s absolutely “no truth” to this reconciliation rumor.

‘Tis the season for bloodsucking.

From “The Vampire Diaries” and “True Blood” to the Twilight movies, vampires are swooping in everywhere.

But will another franchise take a bite out of the big screen?

In a Hollyscoop story that was picked up everywhere, including by Digital Spy just earlier today, it was reported that Sarah Michelle Gellar was allegedly working on a film version of her hit series “Buffy The Vampire Slayer.”

“The idea was to have Sarah back but with Vanessa [Hudgens] as a fresh, new character,” claimed the not-so-fresh Hollyscoop.

But since Hudgens turned the offer down, said the site, “the project has been shelved for now.”

Let’s put a stake through this one right now.

Hudgens never turned down the role.

Why?

As Hudgen’s rep tells Gossip Cop, she “was never approached about this project.”

Repeat: “Was never approached.”

And we can slay another part of this ridiculous story, too.

Gellar is not trying to bring “Buffy” back to life.

A rep for the actress tells Gossip Cop that reports of Gellar’s involvement in a “Buffy” movie are “not true.”

Too bad. We were looking forward to Buffy the High School Musical Vampire Slayer.

As bad as Hollyscoop is at reporting, you have to marvel at the site’s tenacity and fierceness to go against the grain and ignore criticism – as well as the facts.

Today, the site embarrasses itself with a post under the headline, “Kate Gosselin Gets Her Own Dating Show.”

“Kate Gosselin is on fire!” further declares the site, which gets burned when it reports, “Not only does she have her own show, Kate Plus 8, on TLC, she’s getting her own dating show.”

But rather than checking the accuracy of the dating show rumor, Hollyscoop lazily quotes a so-called “insider” telling the equally off-base Life & Style, “Kate’s working on a deal to do a new reality dating series on ABC.”

NO, SHE’S NOT.

Of course, Hollyscoop is joined by journalism’s other joker, Perez Hilton, who similarly proclaimed, “Kate Gosselin Trying To Get a Dating Show!”

Gossip Cop, on the other hand, fact-checked with an ABC source in the know as well as a Gosselin spokesperson, and both said there was absolutely “no truth” to the tale.

What’s scarier – the thought of Gosselin getting her own dating show or Perez Hilton’s and Hollyscoop’s reporting skills?

Hollyscoop has a long, proud tradition of getting things horribly wrong, so it’s less than surprising to discover the site has trouble interpreting a four-minute Robert Pattinson interview.

This morning, “The Today Show” ran a segment in which Pattinson spoke with Jenna Bush Hager.

Asked about the upcoming Breaking Dawn shoot, Pattinson called it “a little bit daunting,” reflecting on the paparazzi madness during Eclipse production. “If it’s in Vancouver,” he joked, “I’ll probably end up getting cabin fever and end up jumping off the balcony.”

Later, when Hager asked whether Pattinson wants to “settle down and get married” (as a clip of Edward Cullen proposing to Bella Swan played), he responded, “I don’t think settling down should be the same thing as getting married.”

“I mean, I guess settling down just means not sleeping with everybody,” explained Pattinson. “I don’t like the idea of having to settle, though.”

It’s clear Pattinson is saying he just doesn’t like the word “settle.” He’s not rejecting exclusive relationships.

Then he continued, “I would like to go on a date… I’m just putting that out there. Because I never go on dates anymore.”

In context, it’s obvious that Pattinson is referring to the non-stop chaos he faces whenever he goes anywhere in public, and his desire to have some privacy with his romance.

Hollyscoop watched all of this and decided to post, “Kristen Who? Rob Pattinson Is Ready to Date Again!”

What?

“Kristen Stewart who? Rob Pattinson is ready to date regular girls and be a normal guy for once,” declares the site.

Um, where did that analysis come from?

Pattinson disagreed with the term “settling down” and expressed a desire to “go on a date” given the swirl of paparazzi.

He didn’t say he’s “ready to date regular girls.” He’s not looking to be set up. He just would like to go out on a normal night without his every move monitored by the paparazzi.

But context and accuracy don’t matter when Hollyscoop is writing the headlines.

“Eyewitness: January Jones Was Clearly Drunk,” reads a so-called “Hollyscoop exclusive.”

Oh, boy.

Whenever you see the words “Hollyscoop” and “exclusive” in the same paragraph, there’s a good chance it’s exclusively wrong.

Consider such recent blunders as Jennifer Aniston supposedly being cast in Scream 4 and Matt Lauer having an ‘affair’ with a woman named Alexis Houston, who they claimed was Whitney Houston‘s half-sister, but was not even related – nor was a woman.

(Ha!)

This time around, Hollyscoop steps in it – and drags it across the room, so to speak – by claiming repeatedly that “Mad Men” star January Jones’s car accident was a result of her being “drunk.”

Not only does the poorly reported site say “drunk” in its headline, but it also uses such phrases as, “Sources at the scene of the accident tell Hollyscoop EXCLUSIVELY that January ‘smelled like a brewery’ when she got out of her car,” and “January, who was clearly intoxicated was also advised by neighbors to go home before cops arrived and she was charged with a D.U.I. “

The Hollyscoop piece ends, “Eyewitnesses were surprised that she didn’t get arrested ‘because she was so drunk.’”

Gossip Cop isn’t all that surprised that Hollyscoop could be so wrong and so reckless with the facts.

As Gossip Cop – and, subsequently, numerous other outlets – reported, Jones was NOT drunk. Her crash occurred as a result of being pursued by the paparazzi.

In fact, an official with the Los Angeles Police Department explicitly told Gossip Cop, “There was no evidence of alcohol.”

Frankly, we’re more inclined to believe actual cops than a bunch of hacks who repeatedly file false reports.

Showbiz Spy is reporting that “Jennifer Aniston has a new man in her life!”

And who might that be?

Jason Sudeikis of “Saturday Night Live” fame, claims the site.

According to Showbiz Spy – and other equally dubious sites – Aniston has “enjoyed a series of secret dates with Jason, who she met last year when they appeared in The Bounty Hunter together.”

Showbiz Spy notes, “During filming, Jen and Jason’s relationship was strictly platonic because Sudeikis was still married. However, now the actor is divorced and… the pair have taken things to the next level.”

The blog even trots out an unnamed “source” who says Aniston’s “thrilled” to be dating Sudeikis, and that she “finds him hilarious.”

Actually, what’s hilarious is that Showbiz Spy printed this inaccurate story, and Lemming-like sites such as Hollyscoop and Perez Hilton similarly jumped off journalism’s cliff – and crashed.

Aniston’s rep, who had no idea where this erroneous report came from, tells Gossip Cop that talk of the actress dating Sudeikis is “completely false – she hasn’t even seen Jason since filming.”

Natalie Portman is the new face of Parfums Christian Dior.

Hollyscoop is the old face of bad reporting.

Let’s see what the site throws against the wall this time.

“The recession must be affecting Natalie Portman if she is taking this gig,” theorizes Hollyscoop about the Dior deal.

Hollyscoop assumes financial desperation is what made Portman – a Harvard-educated, sought-after actress, who’s currently attached to eleven upcoming projects, including a major superhero blockbuster - decide to endorse Dior.

The fragrance and fashion company also happens to employ Jude Law and Charlize Theron, who otherwise would have been forced this summer to make extra money through paper routes and mowing lawns.

Gossip Cop is having just a little trouble comprehending Hollyscoop’s contention that she’s “strapped for cash,” as the site claims in its headline.

Regardless, a source close to Portman assures Gossip Cop that her decision to do the ads has “nothing to do with finances,” pointing out that Portman “has several movies in the can and several more on the way.” 

The source explains that Portman simply felt it was a “perfect collaboration.”

“Dolce and Gabbana want to sign up Rihanna,” reads the headline of a piece in the Mirror, which goes on to explain that they “want the controversial 22-year-old singer as their muse.”

Not surprisingly, gossip’s junkyard, Hollyscoop, picked up the story – without bothering to fact-check – and added, “Look out, Madonna! There’s a younger chick in town who is taking your place!”

Hollyscoop further asserted, Rihanna is “being courted to replace Madge as the face of Dolce & Gabbana.”

For the record, the Mirror piece never mentioned Madonna at all. That was a Hollyscoop creation.

Regardless, Gossip Cop looked into the story, and both the Mirror and Hollyscoop are… wait for it… wrong.

A source close to Rihanna confirms to Gossip Cop the reports are “not true.”

“Jennifer Aniston to Get Killed Off in Scream 4,” screams a headline from Hollyscoop, which claims an “exclusive.”

The site, whose last big “exclusive” erroneously linked Matt Lauer to a transexual named “Alexis Houston,” now writes, “Get ready to see Jennifer Aniston scare the daylights out of you! That’s right, we hear a rumor that she’s going to be a part of Scream 4.”

Hollyscoop then adds, “According to Star, Jen is rumored to be joining her friend Courteney Cox for the film. An insider told the mag, ‘Jen will play a woman who’s killed off in the opening sequence, a trademark of the franchise — as a favor to BFF and Scream actress Courteney. The role will be similar to Drew Barrymore‘s killer part in the first film.’”

Wait…

How is this an “exclusive” if Hollyscoop acknowledges they’ve only heard “a rumor” and it’s all “according to Star”?

The site, which has admitted it posts inaccurate info just to get hits, then notes that at a recent event they asked Cox “if she could tell us anything about Scream 4, and Cox told Hollyscoop exclusively, ‘Nothing. If I told you one thing I would actually be killed right here on the spot.’”

Wait…

So their “exclusive” is that Cox told them “Nothing”?

As if Hollyscoop hadn’t already embarrassed itself with its shoddy reporting, the fact of the matter is that Aniston will NOT be killed off in Scream 4.

There’s been a big twist in the story of Alexis Houston, the performer wrongly rumored to be Matt Lauer‘s mistress.

She used to be a man.

You read correctly.

Until a few years ago, a cross-dresser named Wellington Houston fabricated a familial relationship with Whitney Houston in order to record a demo album and, at one point, allegedly defraud an elderly doctor, reveals the New York Post in a good piece of reporting.

A Post source claims the faux Houston then had a sex-change operation three years ago, before marrying (and later separating from) the man who paid for it.

Wellington became Alexis Houston.

Earlier this month, the clueless dupes at Hollyscoop reported that Lauer and Houston were carrying on an affair, a completely baseless story first debunked by Gossip Cop, and then by Houston herself.

Hollyscoop, written with the care and insight of a third-grade procrastinator’s homework, recently joked that it sometimes prints lies in exchange for hits.

Here’s hoping the site one day undergoes a transformation even more radical than Wellington Houston’s — and becomes a credible source more concerned with accuracy than cheap traffic.

Hollyscoop has worn out the letters W, R, O, N and G on our keyboards with its poor reporting.

The site posted a piece that began, “Justin Bieber has everything he could ever imagine as a 16-year old… except muscles!” And to rectify that, claims the bad blog, he’s hired Jordan Yuam, the same personal trainer “Twilight” hunk Taylor Lautner used.

Quoting the equally unreliable National Enquirer, Hollyscoop writes, “Justin’s positive he has the intensity and focus to get the same results as Taylor… He wants ripped abs, bulging biceps and cut thighs.”

The site concludes, “We laugh now, but seeing what Jordan [Yuam] did for Taylor Lautner, we may be looking at Justin Beiber (sic) in a whole new light soon!”

Speaking of laughing…

Gossip Cop can’t stop laughing at Hollyscoop, which ran this completely fabricated report, a full FIVE DAYS after we already debunked it.

As Gossip Cop noted back then, a rep for Bieber said, there’s “no accuracy to this story.”

Too bad Hollyscoop couldn’t lift one single muscle to correctly report this piece.

With reporting like this from Hollyscoop, it’s no wonder the site is falling faster than a Sumo wrestler bungee jumping off a high bridge.

Hollyscoop breathlessly writes today, “Elton John was reportedly one of the people that was offered to take over Simon Cowell‘s spot on American Idol and he apparently declined.”

That’s very interesting, though less interesting than when Gossip Cop confirmed with Sir Elton’s rep four months ago that “He is not going to be a judge.”

And in a poor attempt to seem newsy, Holly-Oops falls further when it refers to an Access Hollywood story, which asserted John declined millions of dollars, an article that itself was 10 days old.

Regardless of the (not so) recent claim that John was offered a solid eight figures, John was never going to be a full-time judge on “American Idol.”

“The Beckham’s Are Going Pop,” writes Hollyscoop, which can’t even spell “Beckhams” correctly.

According to the site, “The Jonas Brothers have invited Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz [Beckham] to appear in their new music video after meeting them at a concert last Saturday.”

Says a so-called Hollyscoop source, “Kevin, Joe and Nick were really pleased to meet the Beckham’s (sic) and they invited the children to be part of their new video.” 

Adds the language-challenged site, “The trio will be filming the video next week in Malibu, so we’ll keep you guys updated with more info in case you wanna do some stargazing with the Beckham’s (sic).”

Typing “Beckhams” incorrectly once could be a typo.

Twice, a bad pattern.

Three times, a sign of total ineptitude.

But more importantly, the Beckhams (or Beckham’s – haha) are NOT doing a Jonas video this weekend.

A rep for the singing siblings tells Gossip Cop, “There’s no video in the works.”

And David Beckham‘s spokesman also said the story was “not true.”

Geez, Hollyscoop couldn’t get a story right if we spotted them the R, I, G, H and even T.

From the same site that wrongly alleged Matt Lauer had an affair, and that the person was related to Whitney Houston (also wrong), comes yet another wrong story.

Days after Gossip Cop busted The National Enquier‘s article claiming friends feared Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynold were headed to a divorce — they’re not — Hollyscoop saw fit to make a classic Holly-oops by picking up the same wrong story and embellishing it with more misinformation.

The site goes on to claim, “Scarlett Johansson’s marriage to Ryan Reynolds is reportedly on the rocks as the two can’t seem to get along anymore.”

Johansson and Reynolds were not “on the rocks” two days ago.  And they are not “on the rocks” today either.

We can’t remember whether a “Hollyscoop Exclusive” is the third or fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, but one thing we do know is to be skeptical anytime the site claims to have inside dish.

“There’s been a lot of buzz about Matt Lauer‘s alleged mistresses over the years,” reads a new whopper, “But Hollyscoop has EXCLUSIVE new details on what led to the end of Matt’s 12-year marriage to Annette Lauer.”

We can’t wait!

According to Hollyscoop’s “very reliable sources,” Today host Lauer “was reportedly carrying on an affair with Whitney Houston‘s half sister Alexis Houston.”

Fascinating.

One small problem.

Alexis Houston is not Whitney Houston’s half sister.

In fact, the two aren’t even related.

Oh, but Hollyscoop pursues the point, insisting Lauer attempted to see Alexis Houston while in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics after he heard she’d be performing at the opening ceremonies, “an appearance slated for her often unreliable megastar sister.”

Yes, “unreliable.”

A word that fits this sloppy site well.

The bumbling scavengers at Hollyscoop are quick to lift a story but really, really need help with reading comprehension.

Borrowing details from the National Enquirer — always a good start! — the site has “good news for all you Paula Abdul and American Idol fans.”

It seems the former judge is “willing to come back to the show, for the right price.”

According to Hollyscoop, “Paula has reportedly told Simon Cowell she would be more than happy to return to Idol — if he pays her $3 million in advance.”

Um.

That’s… funny.

Because the Enquirer story says nothing about Abdul re-joining American Idol.

It’s about her alleged $3 million demand to join The X Factor.

Here’s the Enquirer story, which serves as the entire basis for Hollyscoop’s “reporting.”

“‘Simon, show me the money!’ That’s what former ‘American Idol’ judge Paula Abdul told her pal Simon Cowell when she demanded $3 million in advance to join his upcoming TV show ‘The X Factor,’” writes the Enquirer.

The X Factor.

Not American Idol.

OK, so maybe Hollyscoop, uh, misread that paragraph?

We’d love to give the site the benefit of the doubt, but then it quotes an Enquirer source saying, “Paula really wants to reunite with Simon on his new show next year.”

New show.

To recap: the site repeatedly copied a rumor, repeatedly failed to read what it was copying, and subsequently “wrote” a story 100% at odds with the one it lifted.

Even for Hollyscoop, this is astounding.

No one knows the heart more intimately than the gang over at Hollyscoop!

Whether it’s inventing an engagement for Paris Hilton or merely repeating a similarly untrue story about Rumer Willis, wrongly claiming George Clooney had dumped his girlfriend or insisting Jessica Simpson became a drunk in the wake of a breakup, Hollyscoop is a true leader in the field of (rotten) romance reporting.

Today, the site announces, “Jake Gyllenhaal Still Obsessed with Reese Witherspoon,” having picked up an innocuous item about the actor reportedly missing his ex and spinning it into “obsession.”

While the A-listers broke up months ago, Gyllenhaal is “still hung up on his ex” and finds it too painful to see her and her children.

Hmm. Sounds… completely normal.

Gyllenhaal misses Witherspoon. That’s it. That’s what happens after a split.

He isn’t fixated on getting her back, as the headline implies.

A source close to Gyllenhaal assures Gossip Cop the actor is “not obsessed” at all.

Gyllenhaal is happily single.

Witherspoon is happily dating Jim Toth.

And Hollyscoop is happily exaggerating.

Everything is in its place.

According to Hollyscoop, Jessica Simpson is “so down and out lately, she’s been hitting the bottle,” and is “starting to worry her close pals.”

“Jess seems really depressed right now,” claims a so-called “insider” for the site. “I think she’s drinking way too much and eating terribly.”

And what’s to blame for this supposed downturn? The end of Simpson’s brief relationship with Billy Corgan, alleges the same “insider.” After it didn’t work out between them, “Jess started feeling bad about herself again and she seems to be drinking way more than usual.”

So did the Smashing Pumpkin leave Simpson smashed?

No.

The booze rumors are bunk.

Besides the happy, energetic press tour for “The Price of Beauty,” which happened after her time with Corgan, Simpson is doing very well these days, a source close to the star tells Gossip Cop, calling the drinking rumors complete nonsense.

And a rep for Simpson assures us allegations of emotional turmoil are silly, as Simpson is “fine” and “happy.”

Simpson may not think “the answer lies… in the bottom of a bottle,” as Hollyscoop claims, but it doesn’t stop outlets from scrounging around the bottom of the barrel.

Can the world handle a new Pamela Anderson “sex tape”?

According to rumors, the busty pop culture icon and “Dancing With the Stars” competitor, who infamously got down and dirty with ex-husband Tommy Lee on video, is busy with a project that will lay bare… (drum roll)… sex tapes!

Hollyscoop reports that Anderson intends to make a “hilarious movie” with “interesting insight into how sex tapes become so huge whether or not the people in them know about it.”

“Pam has been working on an idea and a script is about to be commissioned,” claims a so-called “source.” And while the main character is “not unlike Pam,” the idea is to address “all sex tapes rather than just hers.”

Wow. So is the master of amateur XXX really set to mock it in a brand new movie?

No.

The story is completely bogus.

Hollyscoop and other outlets couldn’t be bothered to check into it — at all.

Shocking.

Gossip Cop did, and we confirmed that the supposed movie is 100% fabricated.

An Anderson confidante familiar with all of her upcoming projects tells us the rumor is nonsense. And her agent informs Gossip Cop there is “no truth to it at all.”

The only thing more exposed than Anderson in her XXX heyday is Hollyscoop’s shoddy reporting.

Hollyscoop, which can’t be bothered by little things like checking whether their posts are true, now claims Lady Gaga has “been beating herself up about her looks so much that she wants plastic surgery.”

Using a story from Now magazine, Hollyscoop “reports” that Lady Gaga “wants to go under the knife to combat her depression about her looks.” And a so-called source is quoted as saying, “She’s desperately unhappy but keeps talking about having thousands of dollars worth of plastic surgery. She really thinks that could fix everything.”

So what’s allegedly on Gaga’s “fix-it” list?

According an unnamed source, “She’s thinking about a whole host of cosmetic procedures, including a nose job, cheek implants, boob job and thigh and bum lift. She’s completely preoccupied with overhauling her looks.”

Relax, everyone…

Hollyscoop is wrong again.

Lady Gaga is NOT doing the full Montag.

A rep for the singing sensation said he was “categorically denying” the Hollyscoop story, adding, “This is ridiculous and untrue.”

In a piece titled, “Kelly Clarkson Butts Out of Big Concert,” Hollyscoop writes, “Kelly Clarkson has had one hell of a week. After prepping for weeks for her Jakarta, Indonesia concert, she’s had to pull the plug and break away.”

She did what?

According to the site, which isn’t strong on fact-checking or reading comprehension, “Anti-smoking activists got fired up when they found out L.A. Lights, an Indonesian cigarette brand, was supporting Kelly’s big show. And they gave her so much heat for it, she ended up canceling the entire show!”

She did what?

Hollyscoop even quotes Clark addressing the issue on her blog: “my morning began with finding out that I am all over billboards, tv ads, and other media formats alongside a tobacco company who unbeknownst to me is sponsoring my Jakarta date on my current tour. I was not made aware of this and am in no way an advocate or an ambassador for youth smoking… Unfortunately, my only option at this point was to cancel the show in order to stop the sponsorship. However, I can’t justify penalizing my fans for someone else’s oversight. This is a lose-lose situation for me and I am not happy about it but the damage has been done and I refuse to cancel on my fans.”

Gossip Cop is not sure what part of “I can’t justify penalizing my fans” or “I refuse to cancel on my fans” led Hollyscoop believe to Clarkson “ended up canceling the entire show!” as they exclaimed.

But the “American Idol” winner did NOT cancel her April 29 Jakarta show.

Just another example why that site is called Holly-oops.

Based on a false report in the British tab Grazia, a number of blogs began to speculate whether George Clooney and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis broke up.

The site Hollyscoop, which may be a misnomer, editorializes: “Are we surprised? Not really. George usually breaks up with his girls after award show season.”

According to Hollyscoop, Clooney “called off his 9-month relationship right after their Oscar appearance in March… Rumor on the block was that George dumped her because of Elisabetta’s partying ways.”

The blog further adds its (wrong) two cents, stating, “George has a one year time span with his women. We’re wondering if the ladies start getting nervous around the 6-month mark.”

And Gossip Cop is wondering why sites like Hollyscoop just make claims without fact-checking.

Through his spokesman, Clooney said, “Once again the story is made up, spread to other outlets and now denied. But don’t let facts get in the way of a good story. ”
