The series finale of “Hannah Montana” on Sunday was seen by 6.2 million viewers, leading to a Disney Channel ratings record.

“Hannah Montana Forever,” Miley Cyrus’ swan song as her iconic character, was cable’s top telecast among children and tweens for the hour, and it was Disney’s highest ratings ever in total viewers in that time slot.

“Shake It Up,” a new series starring Bella Thorne, premiered last night as the Disney Channel’s top Sunday series debut ever.

It didn’t hurt that its “Hannah Montana Forever” lead-in had its best ratings in three years.

But with “Hannah” star Miley Cyrus winding down her TV hit (and about to turn 18 years old), attention has turned to 13-year-old Thorne as the Disney machine’s heiress apparent.
