Elton John’s husband David Furnish says the media made too much of his unflattering comments about Madonna following her win at the Golden Globes.

To recap: Before Sunday’s awards, John sniped that Madonna didn’t have a “f**king chance” to win.

After she did take home a Globe for Best Original Song, Furnish ripped Madonna on Facebook, writing that her victory “truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit.”

Now, Furnish is back on Facebook — and singing a slightly different tune.

“Phew! Thank f**k that’s over,” he wrote, before adding, “I had a blast actually.”

Gervais called the event “by far my favourite of the three hosting stints,” although he says, “I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again.”
