It’s talking animals vs. talking heads!

The Muppets stars Kermit and Miss Piggy recently met with the press in London to promote their film, and one reporter asked for their response to a Fox Business Network segment in which pundits accused the movie of promoting an “anti-corporate message.”

For anyone slightly confused at this point: The villain in The Muppets is an oil tycoon named Tex Richman, which the commentators suggested was part of a larger Hollywood attempt to use “class warfare to brainwash our children.”

Kermit responded with a very logical point about why the Fox allegations of an anti-oil company bias seem off base.

Miss Piggy offered a slightly less diplomatic opinion.

“Boy, that’s going to be all over the Internet!” scolded Kermit.

Hank Williams, Jr., who compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler on a morning show, has been fired by ESPN, Gossip Cop has learned.

The sports network yanked Williams’ intro “Are You Ready for Some Football” from its “Monday Night Football” game this week.

Now the move is permanent.

In a statement, ESPN said, “We appreciate his contributions over the past years. The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue.”

Williams fumbled when he said on Fox News that Obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner‘s playing a round of golf together was “like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu.”

He also called Obama and vice president Joe Biden “the enemy.”

Williams later acknowledged his remarks were “dumb,” but that clearly wasn’t enough for ESPN.

Tamera Mowry tied the knot this evening to Fox News correspondent Adam Housley in a vineyard in Napa Valley in front of more than 300 guests.

The “Sister, Sister” star’s twin, Tia, was a matron of honor.

Mowry got engaged just a few months ago.

The twin sisters will next be seen on the Style Network’s reality show, “Tia & Tamera Take 2.”

Glenn Beck plans to “transition off of his daily program” at Fox News, it was just announced.

His 5:00 p.m. program will end later this year.

The host’s production company, Mercury Radio Arts, will work with Fox “to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties,” according to a joint statement.

It was not announced how many “projects” will be developed or when.

“Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards,” said Fox News chairman Roger Ailes. “I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

There had been wide speculation in recent weeks about Beck’s future with Fox News. The host is already involved in a variety of other media, including a hugely popular daily radio show, Web site The Blaze, and a number of bestselling books.

Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh are set to marry later this month at New York’s The Plaza Hotel.

It’s expected they’ll tie the knot in the Grand Ballroom on February 25.

There is, however, one sticking point: Grammer still isn’t officially divorced from Camille Grammer of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The Grammers’ divorce process has turned ugly, and it remains to be seen whether Kelsey will be free to marry Walsh by the end of this month.

Camille Grammer, meanwhile, spoke with Joy Behar about the marriage’s lack of intimacy in recent years.

“He was too busy watching Fox News, he didn’t want to cuddle,” explained Grammer with a laugh (VIDEO below).

Angelina Jolie is wanted in Israel.

Her father, Jon Voight, a longtime Israel supporter, would like the actress to join him on a trip to the Jewish state.

Voight is planning a visit to the country with Fox News host and possible U.S. presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

The Oscar-winning actor says his daughter is well aware of his “affection for Israel and the Jewish people,” and would “love to see” her by his side on the visit.

Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

Keith Olbermann is out of MSNBC, but is he out of cable TV entirely?

Aaron Sorkin, who has penned numerous TV shows and films, including The Social Network, has been working on a pilot for some time now about a cable news show, and he could be reaching out to Olbermann for help with rants.

In addition to doing some homework by following Chris Matthews and checking out Fox News, Sorkin spent time on Olbermann’s set, reports EW, which describes the pilot – likely to land at HBO – as “Sports Night meets Countdown.”

The web began to buzz with rumors about Miley Cyrus and Playboy.

It all began when Playboy founder Hugh Hefner was interviewed by Fox News about a variety of subjects, including Cyrus.

When asked whether “any offers were on the table” for her to appear in the pages of Playboy, Hefner replied, “The simple answer is she is the one that you and all the other readers would like to see.”

So is Cyrus, who just turned 18, going to be in Playboy?

A source tells Gossip Cop that while Hefner would like her to be in the men’s mag, Cyrus is not going to take it off for Playboy.

Conservative Fox News Channel commentator Glenn Beck says he has macular dystrophy, a degenerative eye disease, which could lead him to go blind.

Beck made the disclosure to an audience attending his “American Revival” tour in Salt Lake City.

The TV host said he initially realized, “I can’t focus my eyes.”

“So, I went to the best doctor I could find… while I could still go to the best doctor I could find,” said Beck, taking at swipe at healthcare reform.

It was then that a doctor told him, “You have macular dystrophy. … You could go blind in the next year. Or, you might not.”

“I don’t know what tomorrow brings,” Beck later said on his Fox News show, but he’ll “plan on dealing with it with a smile and dignity.”

What are the chances an outlet that once fabricated a Lindsay Lohan reality show and just last week steamed Kelly Osbourne for misrepresenting her comments would get a story involving Britney Spears and Paris Hilton wrong?

(Answer: very high.)

“Britney Spears’ Boyfriend ‘Hates’ Her Music” blares a FoxNews.com headline for an item about, of all things, Hilton’s 29th birthday party.

It seems Spears beau Jason Trawick was in attendance, although the pop princess wasn’t. According to an “insider,” Trawick arrived at the Hilton fete with a male friend and was “definitely enjoying himself” until the DJ played Spears’ hit “Toxic.”

“When the song came on the first thing out of Jason’s mouth was ‘OMG I hate this song!’” the site’s source claims, adding that Trawick complained about not being about to hear conversation over the song.

“After slamming his girl’s music,” Fox411 continues, “Trawick continued to party.”

Forgive Gossip Cop for having a hard time taking any of this too seriously.

It certainly sounds like Trawick was “dissing” “Toxic” in good fun… if he dissed it at all. A source close to Spears and Trawick called the insinuation that he “hates” her music “not true.”

As with the Osbourne headline last week, it’s Fox411 that’s off-key with its pronouncements.

Here’s a case of rotten journalism twisting a good message into something ugly.

In an interview with Us Weekly, newly svelte Kelly Osbourne talked about her battles with weight gain. “I took more hell for being fat than I did for being an absolute raging drug addict,” the Dancing with the Stars alum said. “I will never understand that.”

Again, Osbourne said that other people gave her more hell for being overweight than for substance addiction.

And she pointed out just how irrational and wrong that seemed to her.

But outlets like FoxNews.com completely misrepresent Osbourne’s message.

“Kelly Osbourne: Being Fat in Hollywood Worse Than Being on Drugs,” screams the site’s headline. The item goes on to report, “It’s better to be a drug addict than a fattie in Hollywood, says Kelly Osbourne.”

No. Not even close.

That is an entirely backwards reading of Osbourne’s comments.

A rep for Osbourne confirmed that sites were twisting what she (very clearly) said in the Us interview.

Osbourne herself tweeted outrage at Fox, saying “they should be ashamed of themselves” for the manipulation of her comments. Another site that she called out, Heatworld.com, appears to have adjusted the item to reflect what Osbourne actually said.

Gossip Cop hopes Fox and others will do the same.

Cable news king Bill O’Reilly is writing an Abraham Lincoln biography.

The Fox News host’s “Killing Lincoln,” co-written with Martin Dugard, is due out in fall 2011. It will be published by Henry Holt.

According to a statement from the publisher, the book will take readers “into Ford’s Theater and into the mind of Lincoln’s assassin, John Wilkes Booth, and on the manhunt to find and bring to justice the killer of one of our greatest presidents.”

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has just signed a deal to join Fox News as a contributor. According to reports, she’ll appear on various programs, but will not have a show of her own.

The Fox411 column writes, “Lindsay Lohan might want to think about getting a part time job that actually pays,” claiming she is “so desperate she is working for free,” and “has not been paid for her work” for the fashion house Emanuel Ungaro.

Actually, Fox411 might want to think about fact-checking.

A so-called source told Fox411, “Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them… Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes.”

Not only is the working for free stuff a cheap shot, but it is also completely wrong.

We looked into this story, and a source close to the actress told Gossip Cop that it’s quite the opposite. Says our insider, Lohan is “paid a lot” for her Ungaro gig.

Is there new, ironic meaning to “… Baby One More Time”? Well, the people who claimed Justin Timberlake‘s friends won’t talk to him are now trying to spin that his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears is “so out of it” she no longer knows what hour it is.

According to the Fox News story, Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, has been busy calling the shots in her life to keep it under control as she makes her professional comeback. It claims, for instance, that Jamie keeps Britney’s staff in constant turnover to ensure she becomes close with no one as the “comeback kid of 2009″ is “remodeled and revamped.” But the story loses its way when its so-called “insider” claims Britney is so sheltered “she’ll even call people at all hours of night for a general conversation and acts like it’s the middle of the day or something.”

While Gossip Cop knows Spears has been guided closely by her family as she rebuilds her life and career, the notion that she’s lost touch with the outside world seems like a wild exaggeration. A source close to Spears assured Gossip Cop she’s “healthy” and “doing great.”

We wouldn’t give this story the time of day.

“Heidi Montag Wanted Cash To Attend Sister’s Birthday Party,” blares a headline on Fox News’s website.

According to the blog’s lead, “Heidi Montag Refused to Attend Her Sister’s Birthday Party Without Being Paid.”

What?!

Heidi’s big sister Holly Montag had a birthday bash last Saturday night at the Hollywood club Empire and, says an unnamed source, “Holly was really wishing that her sister could just be a sister and stop by her birthday party, but Heidi only goes places if she is getting paid… she wouldn’t even show up without a fee. That’s disgusting.”

Well, it’s not disgusting. It’s just inaccurate. Heidi Montag’s spokesman, who wasn’t sure Heidi even knew about the party, guaranteed Gossip Cop that “she would not ask for a fee. It’s ridiculous.”

Maybe Fox News needs a reality check after it posted a story on its website that Lindsay Lohan is looking to star in a reality show.

According to the Fox News piece (scroll down), which got picked up and repeated as fact EVERYWHERE, Lohan is looking to do a “reality show that will enscapulate (sic) her trials and tribulations as she gets ‘back on her feet’ and actually becomes a working actress again.”

And while most outlets at least corrected Fox News’ “encapsulate” typo, they still got the story wrong. Lohan’s rep told Gossip Cop exclusively that talk of a reality show is “not true.” And in terms of her being a “working actress again,” in addition to Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete,” Gossip Cop knows Lohan has a few other films lined up.
