Two days after being rushed to a North Carolina medical center for an overdose of aspirin and a sleeping aid, Fantasia Barrino has been released from the hospital.

Following Barrino’s release, the “American Idol” winner’s manager said, “She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans… She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration.”

Fantasia Barrino overdosed on aspirin and a sleep aid, says her manager.

Ms. Barrino’s team has released a statement, part of which reads:

“Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.” The police classified the incident as a suicide attempt.
