Kate Beckinsale’s vampire-action sequel Underworld: Awakening won the weekend box office with a take of $25.4 million.

Coming in second was new release, Red Tails, with a $19.1 million haul.

Nabbing third was the Mark Wahlberg flick Contraband, with $12.2 million in ticket sales.

Following Sandra Bullock’s split from her cheating husband Jesse James, the actress wasn’t sure she wanted to return to the big screen.

While promoting Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, her first film since her 2009 Oscar win for The Blind Side, Bullock said, “I was perfectly content to be permanently broken.”
