Whenever an outlet like OK! claims an “on-set exclusive,” we get a bit suspicious.

And if HollywoodLife picks it up, let’s just say it doesn’t exactly put those doubts to rest.

This week, the site hops on an OK! report alleging that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are “demanding” that producers “really push the envelope” with their Breaking Dawn sex scenes.

“They want to show tasteful but extremely sexually charged nudity,” claims an OK! “insider.” Another tabloid source says the scenes “will shock” fans when they hit the big screen, and OK! even suggests the scenes “might ruin the movie’s planned PG-13 rating.”

This is utter nonsense.

First of all, as Gossip Cop already reported, Stewart will not be naked on screen, despite rumors. Loose talk of nudity and graphic lovemaking have been linked to Breaking Dawn for weeks — and it’s simply not true.

The Twilight movies have wide appeal (as their box office power proves).

But part of the core audience is young women, many of whom are teenagers. Even beyond the fundamental fact that graphic sex isn’t in the script, producers have zero incentive to put out an R-rated product that could leave out some of the movie’s biggest fans.

So let’s put an end to these persistent, silly rumors.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart just can’t escape outlets’ confusion over where their real lives end and their characters’ lives begin.

Helped by parrots like Showbiz Spy, the National Enquirer is responsible for a growing rumor that Pattinson is creating a wedding ring for Stewart.

And not only is Pattinson allegedly “busy sketching designs,” he also plans to propose after Edward Cullen and Bella Swan‘s own marriage is filmed for Breaking Dawn.

Really.

That’s what these outlets are reporting.

Pattinson “feels their on-screen nuptials will be a very special and personal moment, even though it’s supposedly make believe,” claims an “underground source.”

The actor is working with Stephenie Meyer to “pull off a real-life surprise” by dropping to one knee as soon as cameras stop rolling on the scene to “slip his designer ring on his real-life love as he proposes marriage!”

Uh huh. So Pattinson feels like popping the question is a “personal” moment, which is why he plans to do it… in front of cast and crew on a major motion picture?

Of course, logic is only one of the tests this ridiculous story fails.

Gossip Cop felt silly even asking, but was told by sources in no uncertain terms that production will not be interrupted by any real-life proposal.

The brick facade of Quillayute Valley High School in Forks, Washington — the real-life version of the high school in Twilight — is about to disappear.

School officials had hoped to integrate the original building’s main doorway and front into the new campus set to replace the leaky, recently demolished school.

The tentative plan would have used the facade as a stand-alone entrance to the new building.

But in the construction proposal accepted on Friday, it was revealed that saving the facade would cost $271,000.

It will be destroyed.

“We would have considered a lower bid, but that’s over a quarter of a million dollars, and we can’t afford it,” said school board president Bill Rohde.

What had been for locals a beloved place of learning that dates from the 1920s became in recent years a tourist destination for Twilight fans who wanted to photograph the place where Bella Swan and Edward Cullen (played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the movies) first meet.

“TWI-HARD TRAVESTY! Are They Going To Turn ‘Breaking Dawn’ Into A Musical?” asks HollywoodLife, which itself is becoming a travesty.

The site then questions, “Would you be shocked! dismayed! sick to your stomach! if the Twilight crew broke out in song for their final films?”

Uh, oh…

So, how did HollywoodLife come up with this ridiculous notion?

Simply, it took yesterday’s news that the top pick to direct Breaking Dawn is Bill Condon, and the fact that he directed “Dreamgirls,” and came up with this off-key premise.

Of course, HollywoodLife’s proposition is like saying New Moon could have easily turned into a comedy with Robert Pattinson playing multiple parts, because that film was directed by Chris Weitz, who wrote Nutty Professor II: The Klumps.

Not leaving bad enough alone, the site then took a cheap shot by saying “Condon worked beautifully with singer-actor Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Hudson, but working with characters like Edward Cullen and Bella Swan is, we’d say, entirely different.”

Of course, nothing like this should surprise us anymore when it comes to “Twilight” and HollywoodLife. Remember, this is the same site that criticized Kristen Stewart for going to a Haiti benefit – twice.

We almost forgot it was April 1… and then we saw our inbox.

There will no doubt be even more hoaxes than usual today, and some doozies are already ricocheting around the Internet.

One that’s reached us (very early) announces, ”Robert Pattinson has confirmed that he is not going to appear in the Eclipse sequel, Breaking Dawn.” The item cites Pattinson’s work schedule as what’s “come between him and returning as Edward Cullen.”

This is, of course, an April Fools’ Day joke.

But while it’s starting on fan sites whose regular visitors will see it for the harmless hoax it is, we guarantee some outlets get genuinely duped. After all: They don’t check facts the other 364 days of the year.

And even though it couldn’t be more obvious by the end of the item that it’s all a joke, some sites won’t read past the first couple of paragraphs before breathlessly repeating them.

Some sites might not even read past the headline.

So if you come across rumor mongers citing a “quote” in which Pattinson talks about how much he’ll “miss being on set,” or a Summit spokesperson who supposedly expresses sadness before observing, “James Bond wasn’t always played by Sean Connery,” just remember: They’ve cobbled things together from an April Fools’ Day joke.

Additional April 1 foolishness surely forthcoming…

“Twilight Star Robert Pattinson Signs TV Deal,” screams the headline of an article today from the Daily Star, which goes on to say, “Robert Pattinson will sink his fangs into one of the biggest contracts in Hollywood history with a $500 million Twilight television deal.”

Really?!

According to the article, the film “franchise is branching out into TV production – and bosses want heart-throb Rob to reprise his big-screen role as Edward Cullen.” The story claims he “could land as much as $1.5 million an episode in the deal which could kick in as early as next year.”

Seriously?!

Oh wait, there’s more…

“Kristen Stewart, Rob’s on-screen human love Bella Swan, is also wanted by chiefs at Summit Entertainment,” reports the Daily Star, adding “both would be free to work on the TV version almost immediately as they have already completed the third film in the series, The ­Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

But how about the other films they’re slated to do?

More importantly, how about the accuracy of this story?

A rep for Summit told Gossip Cop exclusively that there is “no truth” to Pattinson signing a TV deal with Summit.

There have been lots of questions about “Breaking Dawn,” including when will production start, where will it be shot, who will be cast as the daughter of Robert Pattinson’s Edward and Kristen Stewart’s Bella, and who will direct the fourth “Twilight” film?

With all the enthusiasm for the release of “New Moon” — just a little more than a month away — as well as the tremendous interest in the filming of “Eclipse,” “Breaking Dawn” should seem a no-brainer.

However, despite reports that “Breaking Dawn” has been greenlit and production will begin in September 2010, Gossip Cop can report exclusively that, as of now, nothing is official.

A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “The film has not been greenlit – and thus no decisions about the film’s shooting location, start date, the director, etc… have been made.” 

Gossip Cop will update you when there are more concrete details.

Robert Pattinson apparently has superpowers even vampire Edward Cullen would envy.

Heat magazine blew hot air with an “exclusive” photo purporting to show the “Twilight” megastar resting on the Tube (subway) in Britain. “Public transport’s Number One fan,” as they called him, was allegedly spied “snoozing on a train to Paddington station.” He was also supposedly spotted “looking fit” on the Bakerloo line.

This one sent Gossip Cop scrambling for a map. Does the Bakerloo line run all the way from Britain to British Columbia? Because that’s where Pattinson’s been “in the past week,” when Heat places him catching some Z’s beneath London. Maybe all that teleporting left Pattinson exhausted?

Sigh.

You know, it’s bad enough that the paparazzi hound Pattinson in the places where he actually is. Now magazines apparently feel the need to invent fake private moments to invade. Classy.

“Is Rob Sick of Himself?” asks Star magazine in its latest stab at “news” from the “Eclipse” set.

The tab reports that Robert Pattinson “has grown so tired of his sex-symbol image that he’s taken to skewering himself!”

It’s well known that the man behind Edward Cullen has remained modest even as he rockets to superstardom. But Star takes rumors of self-deprecation even further. According to the rag’s “set insider,” Pattinson “stuck a picture of his face to a dartboard that was in his trailer.” The heartthrob then “took shots at it and asked everyone else to do the same.”

Whoa, that seems extreme – and exaggerated.

Sources tell Gossip Cop that Pattinson does NOT throw darts at his own picture. When asked about this rumored hobby of “skewering himself” in his trailer, one source replied that Pattinson has a great sense of humor and may have joked about it.

But taking this target practice story literally? It’s way, way off the mark.

A rep for Robert Pattinson has given GossipCop.com an exclusive statement regarding the actor’s supposed interview with The Mirror:

“I will only comment on matters regarding Robert’s professional life, but in order to set the record straight, Robert did not speak to the Mirror, and their claim that they spoke to him a few days ago is manufactured along with any information that they claim to have as an exclusive directly from him.”

Gossip Cop thinks we can close the book on this one.

The Daily Mirror, out of England, claims in a headline: “Twighlight exclusive – Robert Pattinson: I haven’t got a girlfriend.” Exclusive nonsense.

Let’s look at some of the facts, shall we?

First, these clowns can’t even spell “Twilight” correctly in the headline.

Next, after the “exclusive” begins, it notes that Pattinson and Kristen Stewart “were caught snuggling up together at a Kings of Leon concert in Vancouver where they’re filming the hotly-awaited movie sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon.” Doh! They’re filming “Eclipse.”

So maybe this “exclusive” is just an old exclusive. But in the next paragraph it reads, “In an exclusive interview with the vampire just days before the pictures [of him and Stewart] were taken, heart-throb Robert insists he’s still single and adds: “I don’t have a girlfriend.”

A few things come to mind: (1) the story sounds made up (2) why would the Mirror hold onto an “exclusive” interview with Pattinson for about a week before publishing it (3) the star was in Los Angeles at around the time of the alleged interview, and Gossip Cop knows for a fact that he was not sitting down to talk about his personal life (4) the story sounds made up. Oh, did we say that already? And (5) no one from the Mirror could answer Gossip Cop’s question about when or where the interview was conducted, but said they would get back to us (we’re still waiting).

Even though we’ve established that this “exclusive” seems fabricated, we’ll still share with you a couple of “quotes” – for laughs – that the Mirror claims the incredibly popular and private star said.

Among the nuggets are “You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens,” and “You sit there and you’re like ‘I’m a big movie star and I want to go out with some models’ but I don’t know why that doesn’t happen.”

It’s pieces like this that make Gossip Cop want to “Moon” the Mirror.
