Summit Entertainment has just announced that Breaking Dawn Part 1, the fourth installment in the Twilight Saga, has grossed an estimated $701.3 million globally since the film was released in November.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 , starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, is also on its way to becoming the highest grossing film in the series.

The film is just a few million dollars away from passing New Moon, which took in $709.8 million.

Eclipse and Twilight grossed $698.5 million and $390.4, respectively .

Breaking Dawn Part 1 has yet to be released in several countries, including Japan and China.

The film company’s co-chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said in a statement: “The milestone is important on several fronts and illustrates the vitality of the franchise on a global scale even after four films.  Stephenie Meyer’s story and characters were brought to the screen this time via the talented hands of Bill Condon along with the cast and crew that has been with the film franchise since its inception.  We are very proud of the success the franchise has experienced and anticipate the saga’s conclusion this November.”

Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theatees on November 16, 2012.

The first three Twilight Saga films are returning to theaters in the Tuesdays leading up to the November 18 release of the franchise’s fourth installment, Breaking Dawn – Part I.

Twilight will be shown on November 1, New Moon on November 8 and Eclipse on November 15.

According to the announcement from Summit and NCM Fathom, the evening will also include “Exclusive introductions from the cast members, compelling interviews with the stars answering the questions that Twilight Saga aficionados have always wanted answered and amazing clips from the many fan tests over the years.”

Approximately 730 theaters will take part in the event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Dakota Fanning has graduated from high school!

The Eclipse star received her high school diploma on Monday from Campbell Hall, a private school in Hollywood.

Despite her demanding film career, Fanning was an active participant in campus life during her years at Campbell – she was a varsity cheerleader and homecoming queen for two years in a row.

The talented young star plans to attend New York University in the fall.

The actor jokes about how the underwear Ellen DeGeneres gave him kept popping up – or rather out – while filming Eclipse.

Every year on the eve of the Oscars, which honors the best in filmmaking, the Razzies are handed out for the worst movies and acting.

Last night in L.A. at the 31st Annual Razzie Awards, The Last Airbender and Sex and the City 2 were the big “winners.”

M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender swept Razzies for, among other categories, Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.

Meanwhile, Sex and the City 2 won Worst Sequel, Worst Ensemble and Worst Actress, which was shared by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

Worst Actor went to Ashton Kutcher for his work in Killers and Valentine’s Day.

Kutcher’s Valentine’s Day co-star Jessica Alba was awarded the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for her role in that film, as well as Machete, The Killer Inside Me, and Little Fockers.

And Jackson Rathbone was bestowed with the dubious honor of Worst Supporting Actor for his portrayal in The Last Airbender and Eclipse.

The people are being asked to speak, and they can choose Twilight — again.

Eclipse and its stars earned a People’s Choice Awards-leading eight nominations when the nods were announced on Tuesday.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner each earned “favorite movie actor” nominations, while Kristen Stewart is a candidate for “favorite movie actress.”

The trio of stars are together nominated for “favorite on-screen team,” while Stewart and Pattinson are included in the “favorite movie stars under 25″ category.

Eclipse is up for “favorite movie” and “favorite drama.”

Fans can vote on the categories until December 7. The awards will be handed out on January 5, 2011 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

James Franco recently spoke to MTV, and while discussing “The Tent Scene” in Eclipse, the actor drew a comparison between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner‘s characters in that sequence with the Oscar-winning, gay-themed cowboy film, Brokeback Mountain.

When “Taylor and Rob are in the tent, it’s almost like a Brokeback Mountain scene,” said Franco, who further described it as a “romantic moment.”

It may be Bella Swan‘s birthday, but her fans are getting the gifts.

It’s been confirmed that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released in DVD and Blu-Ray formats on December 4, 2010.

The 2-disc Special Edition versions will contain audio commentaries with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and with Stephenie Meyer and Wyck Godfrey.

Also featured in the edition are eight deleted and extended scenes, a six-part “making of” documentary, and music videos from the soundtrack.

December 4 will also be when two companion DVDs become available:

- Destination Forks: The Real World of Twilight

- Music Videos and Performances From the Twilight Saga Soundtracks, Volume 1.

Last week, rumors began to spread online claiming that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would attend this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The duo appeared with Eclipse buddy Taylor Lautner back in June at the network’s Movie Awards.

But there will be no sequel this weekend.

Pattinson insiders inform Gossip Cop that he will not be at the VMAs, while a source close to Stewart tells us the actress “is shooting” and also unable to attend.

There should still be no shortage of drama, however, especially with the much-hyped return of Kanye West.

After a few days of invasive Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart coverage, it’s nice to see outlets getting back to good old-fashioned wrong reporting.

According to a British magazine Showbiz Spy cites, Pattinson’s recent visit to Montreal was meant to help Stewart get through a “breakdown.”

An anonymous “source” for the tabloid claims Stewart “can’t handle” her fame and “refused to go to this year’s Teen Choice Awards.”

“She’s filming On The Road in Montreal and could have gone,” continues the mag, “but didn’t want to have to face the media spotlight yet again.” Supposedly, Pattinson “knew that she was going through a hard time,” and flew immediately to Canada to “boost her spirits.”

Oh, but the magazine insists this “crisis” has been going for a long time. Its source alleges Stewart “has been at the breaking point ever since they finished filming Eclipse.”

Let’s all take some deep breaths and return to reality.

Kristen Stewart did not have a “breakdown.”

While it’s true that Stewart didn’t attend the Teen Choice Awards because of On The Road obligations, it’s just as true that she’s routinely made appearances in the months since Eclipse closed production. In fact, she presented a preview of that very film at the MTV Movie Awards.

Stewart has been in the public eye for years. Her discomfort with some aspects of celebrity is well documented, but that’s all it is: discomfort. There was no sudden panic while shooting On The Road. There was no cross-continent rescue mission for Pattinson.

But tabs feel the need to drum up drama instead of reporting what the Montreal trip actually was — a perfectly happy visit. It’s too bad that crisis sells.

We’re sure Famous magazine is good at some things.

Careful reporting about The Twilight Saga and its stars just isn’t near the top of the list.

The cast and crew on Breaking Dawn have been “left reeling,” declares the tabloid.

There is “confusion & anger” as “filming on Breaking Dawn is cancelled,” according to the mag’s cover.

Inside, the story explains that production “has been postponed for almost a month,” and insiders are supposedly “warning of further delays.” “It was expected that filming would begin in early October but it keeps being pushed back,” claims a “source.” “For what seems like a million reasons, we’re struggling to begin work again.”

What we love most about this piece is that there are supposedly “a million reasons” production is allegedly postponed — and Famous can’t name one.

There are vague references to the actors’ “busy work schedules” and “losing interest” in the material… and that’s about it.

Should we believe Famous?

The same outlet that claimed Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were embroiled in a major feud? And that Lautner and Kristen Stewart were “caught” in a secret affair? And that Stewart was despised by everyone on the Eclipse set? And that Pattinson confirmed to the U.S. media a breakup with Stewart?

Pardon our skepticism.

Gossip Cop spoke with a source close to the production, who calls the Famous story “not true in the slightest.”

“There are no delays,” we’re assured. “The actors arrive on set in October for rehearsal, hair and make-up tests, etc.” Shooting begins in November, and “this has always been the plan.”

“There may be some confusion because actors have said in interviews that they start in October,” explains our insider. “Prep for the actors starts in October, [but] production has always been scheduled for November.”

Sounds like the only ones angry, confused and “left reeling” are at Famous magazine.

The more HollywoodLife talks about Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the more frantic (and desperate) it seems.

We have to think the staff stumbles around dizzy from running in so many circles.

Earlier this week, HollywoodLife reversed its claim that Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon were “TOTALLY flirting” on the Water For Elephants set.

Originally, the site taunted Stewart with talk about the “magic” chemistry between Pattinson and Witherspoon. Then the outlet flip flops, describing the Elephants co-stars’ relationship as just “mentoring and friendly.”

Today HollywoodLife contradicts itself again.

“It seems like Kristen Stewart is as excited as the rest of the ‘Twilight’ fans for the big moment in the franchises (sic) next film!” exclaims the site. “Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been lovers offscreen for years now but it still seems that Kristen cannot wait for the upcoming Breaking Dawn and the pair’s sex scene!”

Wait a minute.

Now HollywoodLife is saying Stewart and Pattinson “have been lovers offscreen for years”?

That’s weird. Because a month ago, in a story today’s post even links to, HollywoodLife consulted “body language experts” to determine whether Stewart and Pattinson were even dating.

“The lovely duo stepped out together at the LA premiere of Eclipse on June 24, and we couldn’t tell if they seemed totally in love or just friends,” the site told its readers back then, explaining why it brought in the “experts” — “who gave us two completely different opinions.”

Let’s recap.

In June, not only couldn’t HollywoodLife tell you whether Stewart and Pattinson had a real-life relationship, but its experts even gave contradictory opinions.

In July, HollywoodLife claims the two have been “lovers… for years,” as though that’s been its long-held stand.

Got it.

Maybe HollywoodLife should start a premium service where it charges extra for consistency.

America was not afraid to have its mind blown.

The dream-based, consciousness-warping Leonardo DiCaprio movie Inception, directed by The Dark Knight‘s Christopher Nolan, topped the weekend box office with $60.4 million.

Despicable Me remained strong, coming in second with $32.7 million.

The week’s other big release, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, is having less success. The Nicolas Cage fantasy film is on pace for a mere $17.3 million weekend and a third place finish.

And The Twilight Saga: Eclipse brought in an estimated $13.5 million to round out the fourth position.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse passed the quarter-billion dollar mark (domestic box office) on Thursday. Currently, the film domestically has earned $264.9 million.

Again, all figures are estimates.

“Torn apart by money,” reads the headline of a piece in In Touch, which claims the cast of Twilight is now “split into cliques” between main stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner and supporting characters like Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.

The reason, really?

Money.

Lutz reportedly asked for $8 million for the next two Breaking Dawn films, and only received $1.25 million per picture. 

But according to In Touch, Lutz is “still holding a grudge” that the other castmembers didn’t back him up, and now there’s tension within the franchise.

Not true, says a Lutz pal, who adds he’s still very much part of the team.

The Lutz insider says that while he was in Berlin last week to do promotion for his Calvin Klein deal, “He happily [also] did a press day for Eclipse.”

After two weekends in theaters, Eclipse continues to be strong.

The third installment in the Twilight Saga has earned $33.4 million this weekend at the box office in North America, bringing its total to $237 million domestically.

Internationally, the film took in another $81.1 million this weekend to bring its worldwide gross to $219 million.

That means, all across the globe, Eclipse has earned $456 million.

It’s a weekend of animation domination, with werewolves, vampires and alien beasts sinking their teeth into huge scores of moviegoers, too.

The 3D family flick Despicable Me made $60.1 million to take the #1 spot.

Summit’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse also had a strong (second) weekend, earning $33.4 million to easily earn the #2 spot.

The figures put Eclipse at roughly $237 million for North America’s box office alone.

Predators opened at #3 this weekend with $25.3 million, while Toy Story 3 continues to roll, with an estimated $21 million.

The actual box office figures for Eclipse are slightly higher than the estimates provided until this hour.

According to Summit, the movie’s actual four-day North American (Friday through Monday) haul at 4,468 locations was $83.6 million.

The actual 6-day cumulative North American box office stands at $176.4 million.

The latest numbers are in, and Eclipse will rake in an estimated $89 million for the holiday weekend in North America.

So far the film has made $161 million in North America since its release on Wednesday, and is expected to earn $181 million by the end of the holiday weekend.

Internationally, since opening on June 30, Eclipse has grossed an estimated $100.2 million from 42 territories.

Updated estimates give Eclipse a $28.6 million Friday for a cumulative $121.3 million in its first three days of release.

For the standard, three-day weekend (Friday through Sunday), the film is projected to earn $80.2 million. Including Monday, the four-day holiday weekend is expected to gross $106.1 million.

Friday’s top 3 was rounded out by The Last Airbender (approx. $16 million) and Toy Story 3 (approx. $10.9 million).

The blockbuster third installment of The Twilight Saga opened to more than $30 million on its first night in North America.

It surpasses the previous midnight opening record holder, which was the second Twilight installment, New Moon, at $26.3 million.

It’s too early to know whether Eclipse will top New Moon‘s (full) first day record of $72.7 million.

The movie also set a new IMAX record for midnight grosses with over $1 million from 192 theaters, beating Transformers 2‘s $959,000.

“Eclipse’s Nikki Reed has sparked engagement rumours by stepping out wearing what looks like a wedding band,” reports the UK’s online edition of OK! magazine.

According to the site, “the 22-year-old seemed quite eager to show off the piece of jewellery, proudly displaying it to snappers” as she arrived at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” yesterday.

However, notes OK!, “she removed it for her appearance on the show – prompting us to think maybe she isn’t quite ready to declare all on national TV just yet.”

Or…

Maybe she’s NOT engaged!

A rep for the “Eclipse” star confirms to Gossip Cop that Reed is “definitely not engaged.”

This isn’t the first time an outlet has claimed Reed was set to wed.

The movie is set to debut on a record 4,416 screens on Wednesday, beating the previous domestic release high of 4,380 (Iron Man 2).

There is no official word on the final number of theaters offering midnight showings.

Thousands of articles have theorized about the relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but rarely has one been as asinine as PopEater‘s latest effort.

“Perpetually in bad moods,” Pattinson and Stewart give “grumpy” sound bites and “glower at the cameras,” sneers the site… next to a photo of the pair smiling.

But PopEater isn’t satisfied to prove its point merely with the observational and photo editing skills of a wet sock.

How about some condescension?

Compared to Pattinson and Stewart, “Julius and Ethel Rosenberg look like Snooki and The Situation making out in a hot-tub,” chortles PopEater, scoffing, “If you’re too young to know who Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are, then R-Pattz and K-Stew are probably your romantic role models.”

Ah, yes, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. A couple executed in 1953 for atomic espionage. And, apparently, the gold standard for being “grumpy.”

If we didn’t know better, we’d say PopEater invokes the Rosenbergs (and Snooki!) while patronizing its readers because it has no actual case to make.

Oh, but it tries.

The main thrust of the article exploring their “deliciously suspicious romance” is that Pattinson and Stewart have faked it “to sell movie tickets.”

Here’s a summary of PopEater’s “argument”:

*** Stewart denied a relationship with Pattinson in a Nylon magazine interview while filming New Moon, saying that she and he were “good friends.”

OK. She gave that comment a year and a half ago. Why is this relevant?

*** Stewart and Pattinson were photographed “by a small-town blogger” on vacation on the Isle of Wight.

Yes. Um. What’s the point? They went on vacation because… they aren’t really dating?

*** Stewart and Pattinson “may or may not” have revealed (off camera) their relationship to Oprah Winfrey.

They didn’t. And if they had, so what?

*** Stewart attended the premiere of Pattinson’s Remember Me.

Yes, she did. Girlfriends regularly attend premieres. Platonic friends regularly attend premieres. Past and future co-stars regularly attend premieres. What does her presence have to do with a conspiracy to sell out theaters for, say, Eclipse? Especially when PopEater makes a point of saying she and Pattinson didn’t have much contact that night?

(Which itself is inaccurate. Gossip Cop was there the whole night. Pattinson and Stewart spent the entire after-party in a VIP area with a select group of friends and family.)

And… that’s pretty much all the article offers in the way of “specifics.”

PopEater then writes, “Perhaps the media wouldn’t be so suspicious of the real relationship between Rob and Kristen if there wasn’t such a massive financial incentive for them to lead us along.”

They don’t own Twilight. Their salaries have already been negotiated. That’s the beginning and end of their “financial incentive.”

“If Rob and Kristen really are just following the studio’s orders to generate heat for their films,” blusters PopEater, “At least it would explain why they’re so sour all the time.”

Wait.

So Summit’s grand plan is to force Pattinson and Stewart into faking a relationship that makes them “sour” with the press? Of course. Because everyone knows “sour” people with a “miserable attitude” are a huge draw at the box office. It’s why Andy Rooney’s been the decade’s biggest motion picture star.

There’s also this: It’s an awfully big commitment to pretend you’re dating for a few years (and five films) to the exclusion of dating other people.

But the biggest problem is that PopEater’s main argument doesn’t even makes sense.

If Stewart and Pattinson are forced into a publicity stunt relationship, wouldn’t it stand to reason that Summit would want it to gain… publicity?

The two stars shun the paparazzi. They avoid being photographed holding hands, kissing, etc. If, for instance, Summit planted Stewart at Pattinson’s Remember Me premiere to make it seem like they’re in a relationship… why would Pattinson walk the red carpet with co-star Emilie de Ravin? If they “forced” them to vacation together, why would it be on an island with zero paparazzi?

If they conspired with their studio to perpetuate a “fake relationship,” wouldn’t they be photographed just once holding hands and kissing on the red carpet or “accidentally” spotted around L.A. having romantic dinners together?

If this were a “fake relationship,” we’d see more photos of them together, not less.

The only thing “fake” here is PopEater’s premise.

Summit Entertainment has announced a 12-city “Twilight Night” event to coincide with the lunar eclipse occurring on the evening of June 26.

The “Night” includes outdoor screenings of Twilight and New Moon just four days before Eclipse hits theaters on June 30.

Moviefone will be live streaming events on its website for those people who can’t attend any of the celebrations in person. The content will include interviews with cast, fan reactions, special guests and speak peeks at Eclipse.

Events are currently scheduled to take place in the following cities and venues.  Doors open at 6:00 PM local time in each city.  Attendance will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.

As Gossip Cop was first to report, Robert Pattinson was on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

While promoting Eclipse, the topic turned to doing nude scenes. This is what Pattinson said:

“They give you a little robe….the moment where you have to take it off it’s the most…you’re wanting to throw up and your whole body starts failing.  I was doing this thing where I was refusing to look at anyone and just between each take you’d be sitting there convulsing.  And then suddenly I briefly turned around for one second and saw that there – 6 or 7 guys in the room — only briefly the guy looking through the camera lens even wanted to look for more than a second.  And you notice every single person kinda goin’ [he looks away] and then as soon as that happens your like hey I’m sitting here naked alright now I want some respect.”

In a new interview with Parade.com, Robert Pattinson discusses Edward Cullen‘s approach to sex and how he relates to it.

“Edward is old fashioned. Nowadays, everyone just goes around screwing everyone for no reason. I guess Edward doesn’t really want to sort of cheapen his relationship with Bella, even though she’s pushing him to go all the way,” Pattinson tells the site.

“He’s got this certain idea of how it should go with the love of his life. He wants to do it right and not just follow his base instincts. I guess I’m a bit old fashioned in that way as well.”

Pattinson also discusses how kissing Kristen Stewart felt different during the filming of Eclipse.

“Kissing felt a little bit more natural in Eclipse, even if there was plenty of it,” says the actor.

“In New Moon and Twilight it was always like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna kill you if I kiss you’ or something. It was always kind of odd. But, in this one, they both understand their situation a lot more, which makes it easier. It’s the first time Kristen and I have been able to just act like a normal couple.”

“London producers are trying to entice Twilight star Kristen Stewart into making her West End [London] stage debut,” began a piece in the Daily Mail, which got picked up everywhere.

According to the article, “No play has been decided on yet, but the 20-year-old actress has informally met one producer and a director, and they gave her a list of possibilities to read, with a view to treading the boards some time in the future.”

Very exciting news, but not terribly factual.

Actually, the story sounded a bit vague since it had no details about who the producer and director were or which possible plays were being discussed.

A rep for Stewart tells Gossip Cop that reports of the actress being approached to star on the West End are “not true.”

Stewart, of course, will be pretty busy for about the next year doing press for Eclipse, as well as filming and promoting On The Road and the back-to-back Breaking Dawn films.

Kristen Stewart has apologized after comparing her experience with paparazzi intrusion to rape in the July issue of British Elle.

“I really made an enormous mistake — clearly and obviously,” says the actress. “I’m really sorry about my choice of words.”

Stewart spoke with People magazine in Korea, where she’s promoting Eclipse.

Fans and rape victims’ advocates criticized the star this week after her comments to Elle made their way online. In them, Stewart expresses her frustration with constant paparazzi attention and relates it to sexual assault.

“‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought,” says Stewart.

Given Stewart’s past work on behalf of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) and Security on Campus (SOC) organizations, her sensitivity to the issue of sexual assault is established.

In that light, the Elle comments are regrettable but shouldn’t be immediately interpreted as callousness toward real victims.

As the Eclipse release nears, rumors concerning appearances by cast members are on the rise.

Late yesterday, Western outlets began picking up a Russian radio station’s report that Robert Pattinson, director David Slade and author Stephenie Meyer were due to launch the film in Moscow on June 30.

The rumor speculates about where the “delegation from Hollywood” will stay, mentions that a “select audience” has been invited to the premiere, and claims Pattinson “wants to walk through Red Square to visit the Kremlin.”

But Muscovites should NOT be duped.

A rep for Summit Entertainment tells Gossip Cop the supposed rendezvous in Russia is NOT TRUE.
