REPORT: Ryan Murphy of “Glee” May Direct New ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’

“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy is reportedly in conversations to direct a remake of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show.’

Murphy has not yet committed, but is mulling a studio offer to helm the project, according to Deadline.

“Glee” has a ‘Rocky Horror’-themed episode set to air on October 26.

Ben Affleck’s bank robber drama, ‘The Town,’ has opened in the top spot at the box office, beating three other new releases.

The gritty crime film earned $23.8 million for the weekend, higher than most analysts predicted.

Teen comedy ‘Easy A’ finished in second place, with $18.2 million, while horror-in-the-elevator flick, ‘Devil,’ rounded the top three with $12.6 million.

‘Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D’ took the top spot this weekend at the box office, with $27.7 million in ticket sales. The fourth film in the post-apocalyptic Milla Jovovich franchise easily beat the debuts of the first three installments. ‘Takers’ and ‘The American,’ two of the movies that battled for #1 last week, were neck-and-neck for second and third place with $6.1 million and $5.9 million, respectively. ‘Last Exorcism’ scares off others for box office top spot

“The Last Exorcism” has slightly edged out heist flick “Takers” for the weekend box office’s top spot. Backed by horror king Eli Roth, but featuring mostly unknowns, “The Last Exorcism” brought in $21.3 million in its first weekend. “Takers,” with an ensemble cast that includes Matt Dillon and Hayden Christensen, banked a close $21 million.

UPDATE: ‘Expendables’ #1 again while ‘Vampires Suck’ it at #2

Sylvester Stallone’s action flick took in $16.5 million, while ‘Vampires Suck’ debuted with a $12.2 million box office.
